Update 1.4.0 added Transcendent Weapons, the new highest weapon tier in The First Descendant. They sit above Ultimate Weapons and introduce a completely new progression layer built around Quality and Quality Range.
This guide covers how the system works, every piece of content that drops them, the exact drop chances, and the fastest way to push toward a Quality 400 weapon.

TLDR – The fastest way to farm Transcendent Weapons
Here is a quick TLDR on how to farm Transcendent Weapons in The First Descendant.
- Grab the 4 guaranteed first-clear weapons from Unknown Laboratory, The Chapel, Bio-Lab and Heart of the Fortress (Normal). Free Base Quality.
- Farm anything you can clear fast. Base Quality goes up with every Transcendent Weapon you acquire, so early on quantity beats quality.
- Once your Base Quality is high, move to Onslaught Stages 3 and 4 (7.11% and a 351-400 / 376-400 range) or Karel’s Mothership (14.5% chance).
- Dismantle everything you don’t want for Transcendent Trait Element, then buy boxes from Deslin in Albion.
- Run Trials for Merit Tokens, which convert into more Trait Element. Common monsters in Trials can also drop a Quality 400 weapon outright.
What are Transcendent Weapons in TFD?
Transcendent Weapons are the highest-tier weapon in the game. Unlike Ultimate Weapons, they roll two values that determine their power:
- Quality – the raw indicator of the weapon’s performance and value, from 1 to 400.
- Quality Range – a bracket the Quality falls into. Every time the weapon crosses into a new range, its performance increases significantly.
Quality Range Table:
| Quality Range | Quality |
|---|---|
| Range 1 | 1 – 100 |
| Range 2 | 101 – 200 |
| Range 3 | 201 – 300 |
| Range 4 | 301 – 400 |
You always want to go for Range 4 and as close to 400 as possible with your Transcendent Weapon.
Current Transcendent Weapons List for Season 4:
- Armis Build
- Emperor’s Guard Lance Build
- Malicious Dominator Build
- Sparky Build
- Nightmare Launcher Build
- Frost Flower Build
- Volcanic Heart Build
- Unleashed Instinct Build
- Storm Cage Build
- Raging Light Build
- ATR-0 Prototype Build
Base Quality – the most important mechanic
This is the part people miss, and it changes how you should farm your Transcendent Weapons in The First Descendant.
- When you acquire a Transcendent Weapon, the minimum Quality is guaranteed based on your Base Quality.
- Base Quality increases every single time you acquire a Transcendent Weapon.
- Base Quality caps at 400.
In practice:
- Your first drops will be garbage, and that is fine.
- Every weapon you pick up raises the floor for the next one.
- Do not skip low-tier content early just because the Quality Range looks bad.
- Volume is what raises your Base Quality, and Base Quality is what eventually guarantees high rolls.
Each piece of content also has its own Available Quality Range, and drops typically fall within those limits. The exception:
There is a very small chance that defeating a monster drops a high-quality Transcendent Weapon that exceeds the content’s Quality range.
So world drops off mobs can spike above what the mission itself is capped at.
Guaranteed first-clear Transcendent Weapons
Four Infiltration Operations hand you a guaranteed Transcendent Weapon on your first clear in any Normal Difficulty field. Do these first, they are free Base Quality.
| Content | Acquisition Quality |
|---|---|
| Unknown Laboratory – Normal | 25 |
| The Chapel – Normal | 50 |
| Bio-Lab – Normal | 75 |
| Heart of the Fortress – Normal | 100 |

Quality 176 – 325
| Content | Quality Range | Drop Chance |
|---|---|---|
| Medium-Sized Facility Zone – Normal | 176 – 325 | 4.92% |
| Sigma Sector: Broken Boundary (High-risk) | 176 – 325 | 3.47% |
| Sigma Sector: Isolated Desert (High-risk) | 176 – 325 | 2.69% |
Quality 201 – 350 (Axion Plains content)
| Content | Quality Range | Drop Chance |
|---|---|---|
| Sealed Residential District | 201 – 350 | 6.69% |
| Emergency Deployment Zone | 201 – 350 | 5.22% |
| Liquefied AX Vault | 201 – 350 | 3.86% |

| AX Power Converter Station | 201 – 350 | 1.97% |
| Axium Drop Zone | 201 – 350 | 0.47% |
Best pick: Sealed Residential District at 6.69%. Avoid Axium Drop Zone, its 0.47% is the worst rate in the entire game.
Quality 251 – 400 (Endgame Infiltration Operations)
| Content | Quality Range | Drop Chance |
|---|---|---|
| Forbidden Sanctuary | 251 – 400 | 5.64% |
| Bastion of Immortality | 251 – 400 | 5.06% |
| Medium-Sized Facility Zone – Hard | 251 – 400 | 4.92% |

| Exposed Underwater Base | 251 – 400 | 4.69% |

Onslaught – the best sustained farm
| Content | Quality Range | Drop Chance |
|---|---|---|
| Onslaught – Stage 1 | 276 – 400 | 7.11% |
| Onslaught – Stage 2 | 301 – 400 | 7.11% |
| Onslaught – Stage 3 | 351 – 400 | 7.11% |
| Onslaught – Stage 4 | 376 – 400 | 7.11% |
Onslaught has the highest drop chance in the game at 7.11%, and the chance is identical across all four stages. Only the Quality Range changes.
This makes Stage 4 the single best farm in the game if you can clear it. Same 7.11% chance, but every drop is guaranteed 376-400, meaning you are pulling Range 4 weapons every single time.
Karel’s Mothership – highest raw drop chance
New Conquest content with by far the highest listed chance.
| Difficulty | Mission Completion Reward | Quality |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | Transcendent Weapon Loot, 14.5% chance | 251 – 400 |
| Hard | Transcendent Weapon Loot, 14.5% chance | 271 – 400 |
Additional Karel’s Mothership drops:
- Common and Elite monsters – very small chance of Transcendent Weapon Loot (251-400 Normal, 271-400 Hard)
- Commander – small chance of Transcendent Weapon Loot (251-400 Normal, 271-400 Hard)
At 14.5% this is roughly double Onslaught’s rate. If Conquest is active, run it.
Conquest difficulty runs from the 09.03.2026 patch until 10.14.2026 22:00 PDT. Check the in-game notice for the exact rotation schedule.
Trials
Trials round completion rewards give a flat 10% chance per round.
| Reward | 1st Round | 2nd Round | 3rd Round | 4th Round |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Transcendent Weapon Loot (10%) | Quality 271-400 | Quality 271-400 | Quality 281-400 | Quality 281-400 |
| Merit Token | 10 | 10 | 15 | 15 |
| Superconductive Cooling Unit | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 |
Entry requirements: Hard Difficulty unlocked (complete <The Stance of the Magisters>) and 83,980 Arche Activity. Below that you can still run Private Operations.
Rotational Build rewards (the dev-set optimized loadout, for players under the Arche requirement) drop a lower range:
| Reward | 1st Round | 2nd Round | 3rd Round | 4th Round |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Transcendent Weapon Loot (10%) | Quality 51-350 | Quality 51-350 | Quality 101-350 | Quality 101-350 |
The hidden gem: defeating a Common Monster in Trials has a very small chance to drop a Transcendent Weapon Loot that can be Quality 400. That is the only listed source where a trash mob can hand you a maxed weapon outright.
Buying Transcendent Weapons from Deslin
Dismantling a Transcendent Weapon gives Transcendent Trait Element. The higher the weapon’s level and Quality Range, the more you get back. Dismantle every duplicate and every low roll you do not need.
Deslin in Albion sells:
| Item | Price | Purchase Limit |
|---|---|---|
| [All] Transcendent Weapon Box | 400 Transcendent Trait Element | Unlimited |
| [Range 4] Transcendent Weapon Box | 800 Transcendent Trait Element | 10 times per week |
The [Range 4] box is the priority purchase. At double the cost it guarantees a Range 4 (301-400) weapon, which is far better value than gambling on the [All] box. Cap out your 10 weekly purchases first, then spend leftovers on [All] boxes.
Merit Token conversion
Merit Tokens from Trials convert into Trait Element at Excavation Chief Reina in Albion:
| Item | Price | Purchase Limit |
|---|---|---|
| 200 Transcendent Trait Element | 100 Merit Token | 10 times per week |
| Ancestors Module Loot II | 100 Merit Token | 5 times per week |
| 50 Superconductive Cooling Unit | 100 Merit Token | Unlimited |
| 1-Hour Gold Boost (30%) | 100 Merit Token | 10 times per week |
| 1-Hour Kuiper Shard Boost (30%) | 100 Merit Token | 10 times per week |
| 1-Hour Weapon Proficiency Boost (30%) | 100 Merit Token | 10 times per week |
| 1-Hour Descendant EXP Boost (30%) | 100 Merit Token | 10 times per week |
That is 2,000 Trait Element per week from Merit Tokens alone, which is two and a half [Range 4] boxes. Worth prioritising.
Readjustment, Sub Abilities and Module Implants
Once you have a Range 4 weapon, you refine it at the Weapon Workbench in Albion or any Outpost.
Readjustment materials (also from Deslin, in the Transcendent Weapon Material Exchange):
| Item | Price | Purchase Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Transcendent Wave Modulator | 1,200 Transcendent Trait Element | 3 times per week |
| Sub Wave Modulator | 600 Transcendent Trait Element | 5 times per week |
- Sub Wave Modulator rerolls the Sub Ability.
- Transcendent Wave Modulator rerolls the Transcendent Ability.
At 1,200 each with a 3 per week cap, Transcendent Wave Modulators are the real bottleneck of the whole system. Only reroll on a weapon you have already committed to.
Implanting Ultimate Weapon module settings
You can copy an Ultimate Weapon’s module setup straight onto its Transcendent counterpart, which saves you re-catalysing from scratch. This consumes a Transcendent Photon Imprinter, and both weapons must be in your inventory.
| Ultimate Weapon | Transcendent Weapon |
|---|---|
| Malevolent | Malicious Dominator |
| Thunder Cage | Storm Cage |
| Piercing Light | Raging Light |
| King’s Guard Lance | Emperor’s Guard Lance |
Boosts – increase your drop rate
Transcendent Weapon acquisition boosts from the S4E1 Battle Pass Premium:
| Battle Pass Level | Boost |
|---|---|
| Lv.1 | Transcendent Weapon Acquisition Boost 5% |
| Lv.30 | Transcendent Weapon Acquisition Boost 10% |
| Lv.50 | Transcendent Weapon Acquisition Boost 15% |
| Lv.80 | Transcendent Weapon Acquisition Boost 20% |
Upgrading to Premium also immediately applies a +25% Transcendent Trait Element Acquisition boost.
Two important rules:
- Only the highest Battle Pass boost you have earned is applied, they do not stack with each other.
- Boosts from purchases, events and other sources are combined into a single value separately and applied as the final rate.
The 11 new Transcendent Weapons
Fire Rate increase effects on Transcendent Weapons cap at 30%.

| Nightmare Launcher | Launcher / High-Power Rounds | Dreadful Dream | Toxic Skill Power Amp up, Toxic hits apply Purple Nightmare, kills chance for Venom Explosion and +1 High-Power Round |
Note on the five elemental weapons (Sparky, Frost Blossom, ATR-0 Prototype, Volcanic Heart, Nightmare Launcher): their Additional Damage does not affect other skill effects. They are skill-hybrid weapons, so build them around a Descendant matching their element.
