Character activating a Mundus Stone in ESO

Now lets take a closer look at each of the Mundus Stones and explain what they can do and what they are used for in ESO.

The Apprentice Mundus Stone

The Apprentice Mundus Stone increases your spell damage by 238 and if you wear 7 divine armor trait pieces it gets boosted up to 389. The Apprentice is often used in PvP to increase the overall up front damage. This will have a positive effect on your non critical and critical hits together and also boost your healing values. The Apprentice Mundus Stone is also often used on builds that focus on high spell damage, giving it another boot.

The Apprentice Mundus Stone can be found in Reaper’s March, The Rift and Bangkorai.

The Atronach Mundus Stone

The Atronach Mundus Stone increases your overall magicka recovery by 310 and with 7 divine armor trait pieces it gets boosted up to 507. The Atronach is often used on builds to make up for sustain issues. The extra magicka recovery can make a huge difference in terms of sustain. The Atronach Mundus Stone is often used with PvP builds that need extra sustain or lower level builds where players often have sustain issues.

The Atronach Mundus Stone can be found in Greenshade, Shadowfen and Rivenspire.

The Lady Mundus Stone

The Lady Mundus Stone increases your armor (physical and spell resistance) by 2744 and with 7 divine armor trait pieces it gets boosted up to 4489. The Lady is used on builds that want to boost their resistances. However, if is one of the least used Mundus Stones in ESO because there is easier ways to obtain large amounts of resistances and other Mundus Stones are simply better.

The Lady Mundus Stone can be found in Auridon, Stonefalls and Glenumbra.

The Lord Mundus Stone

The Lord Mundus Stone increases your maximum health by 2225 and with 7 divine armor traits it gets boosted up to 3639. The Lord is most commonly used on tank builds to boost their overall health value because it is one of the most important stats for tanks and the increase is significant enough to really make a difference.

The Lord Mundus Stone can be found in Grahtwood, Deshaan and Stormhaven.

The Lover Mundus Stone

The Lover Mundus Stone increases your offensive (physical and spell) penetration by 2744 and with 7 divine armor trait pieces it gets boosted up to 4489. The Lover is often used on builds that can’t reach the penetration cap. For example most solo builds use The Lover because the stone gives the highest damage increase if you aren’t already at the penetration cap like most raid builds are.

The Lover Mundus Stone can be found in Auridon, Stonefalls and Glenumbra.

The Mage Mundus Stone

The Mage Mundus Stone increases your maximum magicka by 2023 and with 7 divine armor trait pieces it gets boosted up to 3309. The Mage is often used on PvP builds that want to stack more maximum magicka or builds that focus on increasing their magic shield size. The magic shield size depends on how much maximum magicka and health your character has. Therefore a bigger magicka pool will increase the size like for example seen on the 1 Bar Sorcerer Build.

The Mage Mundus stone can be found in Grahtwood, Deshaan and Stormhaven.

The Ritual Mundus Stone

The Ritual Mundus Stone increases your healing effectiveness by 8% and with 7 divine armor trait pieces it gets boosted up to 13%. The Ritual is most commonly used on healer builds to boost the overall effectiveness of their healing.

The Ritual Mundus Stone can be found in Malabal Tor, Eastmarch and Alik’r Desert.

The Serpent Mundus Stone

The Serpent Mundus Stone increases your stamina recovery by 310 and with 7 divine armor trait pieces by 507. The Serpent is often used on builds in PvP that need extra sustain or lower level builds where players often have sustain issues. The stone is also often recommended on builds as seconday option in case players have sustain issues on stamina builds.

The Serpent Mundus Stone can be found in Greenshade, Shadowfen and Rivenspire.

The Shadow Mundus Stone

The Shadow Mundus Stone increases your critical damage and critical healing by 11% and with 7 divine armor trait pieces by 17%. The Shadow is often used on endgame builds to boost their critical damage. Critical damage is very important in endgame and players always try to get as close to the critical damage hard cap as possible and the Shadow is a popular choice as it is stronger than most other stones if you aren’t at the hard cap yet.

The Shadow Mundus Stone can be found in Greenshade, Shadowfen and Rivenspire.

The Steed Mundus Stone

The Steed Mundus Stone increases your run speed by 10% and increases your health recovery by 238 and with 7 divine armor trait pieces it gets boosted up to 16% and 389. The Steed has some niche applications in builds that focus on high speed in pvp or for farming builds where speed is important because it saves you a lot of time closing the gap between locations of interest.

The Steed Mundus Stone can be found in Reaper’s March, The Rift and Bangkorai.

The Thief Mundus Stone

The Thief Mundus Stone increases your critical strike rating by 1333 and with 7 divine armor trait pieces by 2167. The Thief is often used on damage dealer builds in endgame because it boosts your critical rating (spell and weapon critical) by a huge amount. In endgame a high critical strike rating is important and therefore this Mundus Stone is often used.

The Thief Mundus Stone can be found in Malabal Tor, Eastmarch and Alik’r Desert.

The Tower Mundus Stone

The Tower Mundus Stone increases your maximum stamina by 2023 and with 7 divine armor trait pieces it gets boosted up to 3309. The Tower is used in niche builds that push their maximum stamina as high as possible. However, other than that niche application the stone doesn’t see much usage in ESO.

The Tower Mundus Stone can be found in Grahtwood, Deshaan and Stormhaven.

The Warrior Mundus Stone

The Warrior Mundus Stone increases your weapon damage by 238 and with 7 divine armor trait pieces it gets boosted up to 389. The Warrior is often used on PvP builds that want to increase their weapon damage as much as possible.

The Warrior Mundus Stone can be found in Malabal Tor, Eastmarch and Alik’r Desert.

Several Mundus Stones in a player home in ESO

Now you have seen all the different Mundus Stones that exist in ESO (Elder Scrolls Online). Each Mundus Stone has its niche applications, some are used more and some are used less but none of the stones is completely useless. There is always a build that can make use of the more niche Mundus Stone variants. I do recommend visiting the ESO Mundus Stone Overview Page on ESO-Hub for a more detailed look at each of the stones.
