Introduction

Welcome to the Stamina Templar Build PvP “Abyss” for Elder Scrolls Online. Make sure to bookmark the link as I will keep updating the build for each new Update of ESO.

The Stamina Templar Build PvP “Abyss” is made for Cyrodiil and Battlegrounds. It is a very tanky setup and can push for a lot of burst damage over a short duration, we also have great heals due to how skills work with Templars. We also have crazy high mobility tanks to Major Expedition 30% speedbuff which makes it hard for enemies to catch us.

The build itself focuses on a lot of burst damage with Power of the Light, Dizzying Swing into an Onslaught combo, that will one shot most enemies if you can stun them with Dizzying Swing. If that is still not enough we can still apply Rending Slashes and another DoT that we place on the enemy to add some extra damage ticks to the enemy.

Warrior's Fury, Seventh Legion Brute and The Troll King are the sets that we are using, it is a heavy armor build focused on high weapon damage, strong healing and high mobility. All the sets contribute a lot to healing, because the more weapon damage, the stronger your stamina heals get.

  • Cyrodiil & Battlegrounds
  • Heavy Armor 2H/ Dual Wield Setup
  • Crazy Burst Damage
  • Crazy High Mobility
  • Strong Healing
  • Good Sustain

In case you don’t know what what weaving light attacks is, make sure to check out the “Weaving Beginner Guide” which explains how to weave light attacks between abilities, aka animation canceling.

Changes from the previous version

This build was added with the Scalebreaker DLC, Elsweyr Chapter. The Piercer Build got archived.

Resource Management

Artaeum Food and one infused Stamina Cost Reduction Glyph on the Jewelry take care of most of our sustain issues. That combined with a Redguards Adrenaline Rush passive is more then enough, if you are not a Redguard, I recommend running another Stamina Recovery Glyph on the jewelry. Keep your Restoring Focus always up to gain the passive stamina return plus a lot of other great buffs. Because we run sets that you need to activate this run every 10-15 seconds, you should never really forget to reapply this anyway. Other than that, you can do heavy attacks to restore stamina and use your potion in the right moment to get a huge junk of stamina and health back.

  • Artaeum Food
  • Stamina Cost Reduction Glyph
  • Adrenaline Rush (Redguard racial)
  • Restoring Focus
  • Heavy Attacks
  • Potions

Cyrodiil Setup

  • Unbuffed: Out of combat
  • Buffed: Fury max stacks, Seventh Legion proc, Weapon Damage Glyph, Forward Momentum, Restoring Rune, Essence of Weapon Crit Potion were active, Redguard with Artaeum food.

Skills explanation:

  • Forward Momentum: Gives Major Brutality 20% Weap Damage buff, and frees you off snares and gives you snare and root immunity for a short duration. You could run the other morph if you want because we also have extended ritual to cleanse us off snares and roots.
  • Restoring Focus: Procs Seventh Legion and gives a lot of stamina back. Plus you also gain a big amount of resistances from it!
  • Executioner: Your execute ability.
  • Dizzying Swing: Your main spammable and CC tool, deals really good damage, if the enemy gets stunned by it follow up with the Onslaught Ultimate to get a huge burst attack.
  • Soul Splitting Trap: Good AoE damage and really nice overall damage on the enemy. You could use Biting Jabs here if you prefer it.
  • Onslaught: One of the strongest Single Target Ultimates, applies a lot of damage and gives you a lot of extra penetration for its duration. Careful, this can be dodge rolled by the enemy.
  • Extended Ritual: Cleanses up to 5 negative effect and also heals for quite a bit when you are standing in it.
  • Rending Slashes: Another single target DoT we can apply to the enemy.
  • Quick Cloak: Deals damage and this is your mobility tool, gives Major Expedition for 4 seconds, 30% speedbuff.
  • Power of the Light: Apply it to the enemy and after 6 seconds the explosion goes off, especially effective if combined with Dizzying Swing and Onslaught.
  • Vigor: Your main heal, keep it always up when you are under pressure, if this falls off you will have issues.
  • Remembrance: Your defensive ultimate, if you are under a lot of pressure.

Important Info for Stamina Templar Build PvP

Buff-food

Your best choice is the Artaeum Takeaway Broth. A lot of extra stats on top of the very good health recovery which is very important for the build. Now the only downside to this is, that buff food is VERY EXPENSIVE. You could use Dubious Camoran Throne as alternative, but you will loose the health recovery.

Food buff

Mundus Stone

The Steed Mundus Stone is essential for the Cyrodiil setup, the extra movement speed and the health recovery make a huge difference.

The Steed Mundus Stone (Increased Health Recovery & Movement Speed)

Race

I recommend a Redguard for this setup, but all stamina based races will work. Redguard is nice because it gives really good sustain and because we have so many weapon skill line abilities, we benefit a lot from the 8% cost reduction on all the weapon abilities, plus Onslaught also gets cheaper which is our main offensive Ultimate.

Redguard (recommended)
Orc
Nord
Argonian
Imperial
Khajiit

Potions

On a Stamina Templar I recommend running the Weapon Crit potions, that way we get a lot of Health, Stamina and the extra 10% Weapon Crit which is nice on a heavy armor build.

Essence of Weapon Critical Potion
(Speedbuff ,Stamina, CC Immunity)
(Water Hyacinth, Columbine, Dragonthorn)

Poisons

Damage Health Posion
(Damage Poison, Damage Poison)
(Fleshfly Larva, Nightshade, Nirnroot)

Passives

Werewolf? If you want you can also use Werewolf form with this setup.

Bonus

If you want to further modify the build, it requires you to get the Murkmire DLC. Because two VERY useful weapons drop there, Spectral Cloak  and Radial Uppercut. The imperfect weapons can be farmed in NORMAL Blackrose Prison Arena which is very easy to clear, can even be soloed. You only loose the 1 piece stat but the special bonus will be the same in both versions.

Spectral Cloak is one of the most powerful sets and works like a charm with this build. By having Restoring Focus on the 2H Bar, we can activate Seventh Legion from there, therefore we do not need more Seventh Legion Weapons on our secondary defensive Dual Wield bar. So you can actually use this set, giving you a 30% MAJOR PROTECTION (ye that is OP) whenever you activate Quick Cloak. If you are on the run you want to activate that every 4 seconds anyway for the speed boost 30% and that will make it automatically proc the Blackrose Dual Wield weapons to give you the extra 30% damage mitigation.

On top of that, you want to keep up Quick Cloak all the time anyway, because it gives you Major Evasion 25% AoE damage mitigation.

With the Radial Uppercut set you can do the same thing. Now you have to make sure that the Restoring Focus is on the Dual Wield bar to proc the Seventh Legion buff. That way you can utilize the Blackrose 2H on the front bar if you wish to do so. So you can just swap Power of the Light with the Restoring Focus and voila.

Perfect Versions:

Battlegrounds

The build changes a lot with battlegrounds, so make sure to have the right equipment ready if you want to give it a go. Sustain is a lot tougher and therefore we are going to use Medium Armor and the Serpent Mundus Stone. We are also changing one Jewelry with Weapon Damage to Stamina Recovery to get some extra sustain.
