Updated: Markarth DLC, Greymoor Chapter
Type: Dungeon, Trial, Arena & Overland

Table of Contents

Welcome to the 2H Stamina Templar Build for ESO. This build is optimized for group content such as dungeons, trials & arenas and has a very glass-cannon approach. The 2H Stamina Templar build is optimized for maximum damage. The build works best in a group but with some minor adjustments can also be played as a solo setup if necessary.

Stamina Templars are very powerful two-hander users which benefit a lot from Templar passives and skills. Passives such as Burning Light activate every time we use Biting Jabs and Power of the Light can deal insane damage on the enemy target. Restoring Focus is another key ability which increases our sustain and damage mitigation by a lot.

  • Two Hander & Bow Setup
  • Insane Single Target (ST) Damage
  • Insane Area of Effect (AoE) Damage
  • Crazy Splash Damage
  • Dungeon, Trial & Arena Build

It is also recommended to read the Stamina Templar Beginner Guide if you are a new player. You can find more Templar Builds & Guides in the Templar category of the website.

Important Info for 2H Stamina Templar Build

I do recommend using the Artaeum Takeaway Broth or the Dubious Camoran Throne buff-food. Buff-food is very important because it boosts your overall resources by a lot.

Artaeum Takeaway Brooth
(Max Health, Max Stamina, Stamina Recovery, Health Recovery)

(or Dubious Camoran Throne Drink)
(Max Health, Max Stamina, Stamina Recovery)

Food buff

Mundus Stone

The Shadow (Increased Critical Damage)

If you want to learn more about the different racial passives that each race offers, check out the Race Guide which explains everything in detail. If you want a complete overview of all races and racial passives, then I recommend checking out the ESO Races Overview page.

Orc (with Artaeum Food)
Khajiit (with Artaeum Food)
Dark Elf (with Artaeum Food)
Nord (with Artaeum Food)
Redguard (with Blue Food)
Wood Elf (with Blue Food)
Imperial (with Artaeum Food)

Potions are an important part of the 2H Stamina Templar build, they apply very powerful buffs and extra resources to your character. Potions benefit from the Alchemy passive Medicinal Use, make sure to always have that passive active.

Weapon Crit Potions
(Weap dmg, Weap Crit, Stamina)
(Blessed Thistle, Dragonthorn, Wormwood)

Poisons increase your overall damage, therefore they are also an important part of the build. However, they are less important than potions.

Damage Health Poison
(Damage Poison, Damage Poison)
(Fleshfly Larva, Nightshade, Nirnroot)

Resource Management

Using the Artaeum Buff Food already gives us a lot of extra stamina recovery that we need. In addition, you want to keep up your Restoring Focus to constantly give you back stamina throughout the fight, plus you also gain extra resistances. During the fight healers or tanks will throw Energy Orb that you can synergize to get back resources, these are very important!

Other than that you have to use potions on cooldown to give you a huge amount of stramina back and you can always perform some heavy attacks throughout the fight to restore stamina. If you have all these things you should be fine with sustain, just don’t forget to do heavy attacks when you drop low on stamina.

  • Artaeum Takeaway Brooth
  • Restoring Focus
  • Orbs or Spears from Healers
  • Heavy Attacks resource return (optional)
  • Potions

In case you don’t know what weaving light attacks is, make sure to check out the “Weaving Beginner Guide” which explains how to weave light attacks between abilities, aka animation canceling.

Endless Hail > LA > Ritual of Retribution > Weapon Swap

LA > Barbed Trap > 8x Biting Jabs > Weapon Swap

  • LA = Light Attack
  • Reactivate Power of the Light whenever it exploded, keep it up all the time if possible.

After 25%, you can use Reverse Slice instead of Biting Jabs and you will only reapply/ keep up Endless Hail in execute and then spam Reverse Slice.

LA = Light Attack

AoE Setup – 2H Stamina Templar Build

The AoE setup of the 2H Stamina Templar Build is more straight forward. Trash packs don’t live for a very long time, anything that provides us with extra burst damage is useful, therefore we use sets like Mechanical Acuity and New Moon Acolyte as well as the very powerful Perfected Titanic Cleave.
