Welcome to our Mora’s Hand Build Guide for Soulframe. In this guide, we’ll explain how you can create a powerful Mora’s Hand build that deals massive AoE damage and can comfortably solo all content in the game. The build is good for both solo and co-op play.

Mora’s Hand is an unlockable Pact in Soulframe. It is centred around fire damage and is excellent at clearing hordes of enemies thanks to its huge AoE damage potential.

This build is up to date with Soulframe Preludes 15. We will continue to update it as Soulframe evolves in the run-up to its full release.

Table of Contents:

Mora’s Hand Strengths

  • UNMATCHED AoE DAMAGE
  • RETALIATES AGAINST ATTACKERS
  • EASY TO PLAY

Mora’s Hand Weaknesses

  • MEDIOCRE SINGLE-TARGET DAMAGE
  • NO PACT HEALING
  • VERY GRINDY TO UNLOCK

Mora’s Hand Pact Overview

Take Mora’s Hand, Envoy. Make a pact with the red sun. An honour once held only by the mighty Kings and Queens of Midrath is yours. Do not sully her flame.

Mora’s Hand is a Courage-attuned Pact that specialises in fire and AoE damage. It is a decent melee fighter that can deal good damage with Courage-attuned weapons, and can also be played with a Longbow to increase its AoE potential even further.

Mora’s Hand is a relatively easy Pact to play thanks to its versatility and immediate access to high AoE damage. By the time you unlock this Pact, you have almost certainly levelled up at least a couple of weapons and crafted some improved armour, making the low-level experience of Mora’s Hand even easier.

Arcanics

The Mora’s Hand Pact has the following Arcanics:

Arcanic Description

Ignus Wroth icon

Ignus Wroth

Wake the old flame, set the earth ablaze. Enemies in area of effect take fire damage.

An AoE spell that has a lengthy cast time but deals heavy fire damage to nearby enemies.

Ember icon

Ember

Do not stoke the quiet ember. Enemies that dare attack trigger a blast of defensive flame.

While active, enemies who attack you will take a small amount of fire damage and receive a Burning DoT (damage over time).

Inferno icon

Inferno

Cast an arc of inferno. Bonus damage if the target is already on fire.

A single-target fire attack. This can be tricky to use because it has a lengthy cast time, and its damage is rather low if the enemy isn’t already burning.

Mora’s Hand Playstyle

Mora’s Hand excels at AoE damage thanks to the Ignus Wroth Arcanic. It is arguably the best class in the game at rapidly clearing groups of enemies.

One weakness of Mora’s Hand is the long cast time of its Arcanic powers. Ensure you have enough space before casting an Arcanic power. You can do this by kiting and using obstructions to slow enemies down.

Ember should be used when you are fighting a strong enemy or a group of enemies – anyone who lands a hit on you will take fire damage and begin burning. You can then use Inferno against a burning enemy for an extra burst of damage.

How to Unlock Mora’s Hand in Soulframe

Mora’s Hand is granted as a reward when reaching Rank 5 of the Kith of Kings Faction. If you have already chosen a different reward for that tier, it can instead be purchased from the Kith of Kings Favour Shop (this still requires you to be Rank 5 in the Kith of Kings).

After purchasing Mora’s Hand, you can craft it with the help of Tuvalkane in Nightfold.

Mora’s Hand Build Best Virtues

The most important Virtue for the Mora’s Hand Pact is Courage, which will boost your HP and the damage of your Courage-attuned weapons. It will also boost the damage of Ignus Wroth, allowing you to deal heaps of AoE fire damage.

You should put most of your points into Courage (only put enough points into other Virtues to meet minimum requirements for weapons and armour), because this will give you the maximum possible damage, particularly from your Ignus Wroth Arcanic, giving you huge AoE damage, along with a very high HP pool.

Alternative Setup: You can instead do a roughly 50/50 split between Courage and Grace. This will give you less AoE damage and HP, but empower the Inferno arcanic for increased single-target burst damage (helpful if you are farming bosses, for example).

For most players, the all-Courage setup is sufficient and very easy to use, but the Courage/Grace build is an interesting and viable secondary option.

Mora’s Hand Best Equipment

In this section, we will explain the best armour to wear as Mora’s Hand and the best weapons to equip.

Mora’s Hand Best Armour Setup

Currently, the armour system in Soulframe isn’t very complicated. There are three armour stats – Physical, Magic and Stability.

  • Physical reduces the damage you take from physical attacks, such as ordinary weapon strikes and arrows.
  • Magic reduces the damage you take from all magical attacks, such as lightning and fire spells.
  • Stability improves your resistance to stagger effects, making it harder for enemies to stun you or knock you to the ground.

All three of these stats add up to give you a total armour rating, which is visible in the top-right of your character menu.

There are currently no armour pieces or sets that grant special effects, so you should keep crafting better armour until you have the highest possible rating in each armour stat.

Note that it is sometimes better to have a balanced armour distribution that is a little lower on your overall armour stat. For example, having 5 points in each armour stat for a total armour of 15 is better than having 18 points all in physical armour.

Mora’s Hand Best Weapons

You can use whichever melee weapon type you like the most for Mora’s Hand. I’ve been using the Igne Mora longsword because it is a thematic match for the Mora’s Hand Pact, but you can swap this for pretty much anything else.

The most important thing is that your chosen weapon scales with the Virtues you chose earlier, either all Courage or a Courage and Grace split.

Reforge your melee weapon with soulframe verite Verite: Twice Blessed by Mora, or soulframe gildaur Gildaur: Thrice Blessed by Mora to get additional Courage scaling.

Mora’s Hand Best Sidearm

Sidearms are smaller weapons that usually fill an auxiliary role (for example, giving an easy ranged option for primarily melee classes, or vice versa). They can be equipped in your Sidearm weapon slot, allowing you to swap to that weapon at any time.

The Sidearm is of low importance for Mora’s Hand. I tend to opt for a Courage-Attuned Flyblade, which offers a rapid-fire ranged attack that can lock onto an enemy without the need for aiming, but the damage on these attacks is quite weak. Another cool option is to use a magickal sidearm like Odiac, turning your Mora’s Hand build into a full battlemage archetype.

You should Reforge your Sidearm in much the same way as your main weapon.

Mora’s Hand Best Runes & Totems

For your Polearm weapon, I recommend slotting the following Runes and Totems:

Slot Item Effect How to Obtain
Rune The Mistgale Shoots a wave at enemies in front of you, damaging everything in its path. Can drop from Flayed Reaper, Knell Knight or Mendicant Knight Duo during Cogah
Courage Totem Hare Harms Pull Smite causes an explosion around the enemy Free or charm Rabbits
Grace Totem 1 Diving Drake Pull Smite deals additional damage Free or charm Ducks
Grace Totem 2 Spreading Sploot Chance to Smite another enemy on Pull Smite Free or charm Squirrels
Spirit Totem Dabble Dredge Heal on Pull Smite Free or charm Ducks

For your Sidearm, you can use pretty much the same Totems, but you will need to choose a Rune that matches your chosen Sidearm type.

Important Note: All totems can drop in red, green or blue, and they have the same effect regardless of colour. Colour only impacts the scaling (it has a stronger effect if placed in a matching slot). If you have the same Totems but attuned differently to ours (for example, if your Hare Harms totem is attuned to Spirit instead of Courage), then rearrange them accordingly. The most important thing is that each totem is in the correct coloured slot.

If you are playing with friends, you may want to change the Dabble Dredge Totem to Heal Preens (a Duck totem), which will heal nearby allies (including yourself) when you Pull Smite an enemy. Remember to upgrade your Runes and Totems to increase their effects!

Please note that Runes aren’t guaranteed drops. You might need to defeat bosses several times before you obtain a Rune.

You can learn more about these upgrades in our Runes & Totems Guide.

Combat Arts Upgrade Priority

As you use the weapons mentioned above, you will gain XP towards upgrading the Combat Arts for those weapon types.

In this section, we have some advice for levelling up your Combat Arts for Mora’s Hand.

Longsword

For the Longsword, I recommend prioritising your weapon Arts thus:

  1. Smitten
  2. Riposte
  3. Vaunt
  4. Unyielding
  5. Swift Parry
  6. Helm Gong
  7. Momentum
  8. Headlong
  9. Spectre Strike
  10. Smitten 2
  11. Vaunt 2
  12. Smitten 3
  13. Vaunt 3

This setup invests in parry and riposte early on – to perform a parry, you need to block an enemy attack just before it hits you; you can then retaliate for extra damage. This playstyle is an important aspect of the Longsword, so I strongly recommend practising it if you’re not already confident with it. Unyielding is especially important, because it means you won’t need to worry about getting knocked over when blocking heavy attacks.

After that, we boosted the weapon’s heavy attacks (follow up your parries with heavy attacks when you have the time and space) and Smite chance.

Mora’s Hand Upgrade Priority

We recommend upgrading your Mora’s Hand Pact in the following order:

  1. Hungry Flame
  2. Mora’s Pride
  3. Saphene’s Gift
  4. Smolder
  5. Rooted
  6. Wingspan
  7. Stalwart
  8. Physic
  9. Iridis’ Favour
  10. Mora’s Pride 2
  11. Rooted 2
  12. Stalwart 2
  13. Saphene’s Gift 2
  14. Mora’s Pride 3
  15. Saphene’s Gift 3
  16. Smolder 3
  17. Smolder 4

We put the full number of points into Mora’s Pride and Saphene’s Gift, boosting your Courage and Grace as much as possible. This increases the damage from your Arcanic abilities and weapons.

Rooted and Stalwart give you some resistance to being knocked back by enemies, and Smolder piles up fire damage over time on targeted enemies.
