Welcome to our Cogah Guide for Soulframe. Here, we will explain what Soulframe’s Cogah mode is, as well as how to unlock and activate it.
Table of Contents:
What is Cogah in Soulframe?
Cogah is a harder difficulty mode in Soulframe that can be toggled on by drinking a special Cogah elixir. It is currently intended as an endgame activity for players and can be played either solo or in a group.
Cogah mode has the following effects on Soulframe:
- Enemies are much more powerful, including standard mobs. Most enemies are scaled up to around level 50.
- Enemies tend to drop higher quality loot in Cogah mode, and the most powerful Runes in the game can only be obtained by defeating Agari (world bosses) in Cogah.
- Quests are unavailable, except for Faction Votives.
- World Trees and Faction Enclaves are unavailable, so fast travel is locked.
- The world map becomes mostly blank – only showing the location of Agari.
Cogah ends as soon as you die or log out of the game, or if you flee from an Agari or Siege battle. In co-op mode, Cogah ends if all players in your party are dead (or all flee from Agari or Siege).
How to Unlock Cogah in Soulframe
Unlocking Cogah is a multi-stage process that, in my view, isn’t explained very well anywhere in Soulframe itself.
Fortunately, it is quite simple, but it does require some grinding to obtain certain crafting ingredients and materials.
You need to complete the following steps to unlock Cogah:
- Recruit Verminia to Nightfold if you haven’t already.
- Improve your standing with Verminia to Rank 2. These tasks should be enough to get there:
- Craft the Cloudquell elixir.
- Craft at least two hues (the recipe for one of these must be purchased from your Faction Favours)
- Craft one other elixir (the recipe can be purchased from your Faction Favours)
- Log out and back in, then visit Nightfold. You should find that Verminia is missing from her usual spot. Read the note and complete the short quest to return her to Nightfold.
- You can now craft the Cogah Elixir. The Agaric mushrooms required for the elixir only spawn after defeating Agari (world bosses)!
Completing all of these steps from scratch will be quite a grind, because you also need to improve Faction standing to unlock and purchase the required hues and elixir.
A common sticking point for Kith of Kings players is farming 25 Bile Ducts to craft the Rhiannon’s Flame dye. These drop from Weaver spiders, mostly found in the Neath’Uns dungeon. The drop rate is quite low, so this alone can take a few hours.
Alca’s Children players have a similar issue – they instead need to farm 25 Will-o-Fronds to craft their faction’s Epona’s Forests dye. They only drop from Will-o-Wings, the flying plants that occasionally emerge from the ground and chase the player.
How to Activate Cogah
Once you have crafted a Cogah Elixir, you just need to drink it to put your game in Cogah mode. The world will have a red hue while it is active.
You can also join another player’s Cogah by getting them to invite you to their game.
Once your Cogah ends (due to death, logging out or fleeing from an Agari or Siege), you will need to craft and drink another Cogah Elixir to re-enter Cogah mode.
