In this quick BG3 guide, we will showcase a quick and easy method to get infinite gold in Baldur’s Gate 3.
This is considered an exploit, and it only works on the PC version of BG3. However, it is tested and confirmed to work in the latest version of the game.

BG3 Infinite Gold Requirements
To perform the exploit, there are a couple of requirements:
- You must have a Hexblade Warlock in your party.
- They must have at least two melee weapons in their inventory. One of them should be quite valuable to make the process a little quicker, while the other weapon can just be a basic weapon.
What If I Don’t Want a Hexblade in my Party?
As mentioned above, this BG3 infinite gold glitch requires a Hexblade Warlock to work. If you don’t want one of your party members to be a Hexblade, you can still do it with this method:
- Temporarily dismiss one of your party members back to the camp.
- Recruit an unused camp member to your party.
- If you don’t have any spare camp members, visit Withers in your camp and recruit any hireling for 200 gold.
- Visit Withers in your camp to respec this character to be a Hexblade Warlock.
- Use this character to perform the infinite gold exploit (explained below) as much as you need, then swap them back for your original party member. You can swap them again later if you need more gold.
How to Perform the Easy Infinite Gold Glitch in BG3
To get infinite gold in BG3, follow these steps with your Hexblade Warlock selected. Save your game before starting, just in case you make a mistake.
- Choose a valuable melee weapon from your inventory. Equip it and bind it using
Bind Hexed Weapon.
- Visit a merchant. Choose one who has a decent amount of gold in their inventory.
- Ensure you are on the Barter screen, not the Trade screen.
- Drag any other melee weapon from your inventory to the barter section (not the Bound weapon you equipped!)
- Drag the weapon you just put in the barter section onto your equipped, bound melee weapon.
- Press the Balance Offer button.
- Complete the Barter. If you did it correctly, you will take the gold for the weapon, but it will stay in the barter menu.
- You can now keep pressing Balance Offer and selling the weapon until the merchant runs out of gold.
You can repeat this process with as many merchants as you want. The video below also shows you how to do it:
If you run out of easily accessible merchants and still need more gold, simply take a Long Rest to reset their inventory. You do not need to spend any camp supplies!
Best Places to Perform the Infinite Gold Glitch in BG3
While you can perform this glitch on any merchants who have gold, it’s best to do it in locations where there are several merchants in close proximity. This makes it easy to take all their gold and then reset their inventories with a Long Rest, allowing you to accumulate huge amounts of gold in a short span of time.
The best locations for this are:
- Act I – Druid Grove, Goblin Camp (including Shattered Sanctum) and Underdark – Myconid Colony.
- Act II – Last Light Inn and Moonrise Towers
- Act III – Rivington, Wyrm’s Rock Crossing and Baldur’s Gate – Lower City
Now that you know how to get infinite gold in BG3, you can enjoy buying everything in the game and create an unstoppable party. Or just spend it all on outfits.
