How to Unlock New Pacts (Classes) in Soulframe

One of the first questions on the lips of many new Soulframe players is “Can I unlock more Pacts, or am I stuck with the one I chose at the beginning?” (Pacts is Soulframe’s lingo for classes).

The answer is yes, you can unlock all Pacts in the game, regardless of which one you chose at the beginning. Some of them are quite easy to unlock, while others require a lot of grinding.

In this quick guide, we’ll explain exactly what you need to do to start unlocking more Pacts in Soulframe. This guide is up to date with Soulframe Preludes 15.

How to Unlock Soulframe Pacts

To unlock a Pact in Soulframe, you need to craft it. There are three prerequisites to this process:

1. You must have unlocked crafting by recruiting Tuvalkane, one of the Nightfold Ancestors. You must then increase your Bond with Tuvalkane to Level 3. To do this, keep crafting new armour and weapons as much as possible.
2. You must have the recipe to craft the Pact, either by unlocking it via a quest or earning it via Faction Rewards.
3. You must acquire the crafting materials necessary to craft the Pact. This varies for each Pact, and can be viewed by finding the Pact in Tuvalkane’s crafting menu.

Unlocking Pact Crafting in Soulframe

To unlock the ability to craft Pacts, along with weapons, armour and totems, you must recruit Tuvalkane by completing a short Ancestor quest.

How to Find Pact Recipes in Soulframe

Some Pacts, such as Orengall and Garren Rood, can be easily unlocked by completing a story quest.

The three starter classes, Tethren, Oscelda and Sirin, can be purchased from your Faction by gaining enough reputation and buying the class from the Faction Favour shop.

The hardest Pacts to unlock (such as Ode Tempest and Mora’s Hand) follow a similar process, but require you to obtain a higher rank within your Faction, and may require you to switch to a different faction and start the reputation process from scratch.

You have to do a great deal of grinding if you want to unlock all of the Pacts in the game. This involves completing lots of Faction Tale quests. To make the process as fast as possible, team up with one or two other players and target Tier 3 Faction Tales in high-level areas of the map, such as the northern and eastern areas.

How to Find Crafting Materials for Soulframe Pacts

Fortunately, one of the best ways to obtain crafting materials in Soulframe is to complete the same Faction Tales that you must do to unlock the Pacts. However, it’s not enough to simply complete the Tales; you should loot everything you encounter in the process. Open every treasure chest, pick up bags dropped by enemies, break all boxes and barrels and loot all of the weapon racks.

For rare resources like Gossamer Quartz and Sappheline, look out for the rare chests (they glow gold and have a flower painted on them) and visit Avakot’s Gots (the little sprout guy who sometimes spawns outside of the Undercity dungeon and in other random locations) as he sometimes sells rare resources for 1,500 Dracs each. River Pearls can be picked up from riverbanks. It is usually possible to do all of this when farming Faction Tales, too, as long as you know what you are looking for.

This lengthens the time taken to complete the Tales, but it means you won’t need to do nearly as much specific item farming later on.
