How To Get Gossamer Quartz in Soulframe

Gossamer Quartz is an important crafting material in Soulframe, but a lot of new players struggle to find it because it’s rarer than most other materials in the game.

This guide will explain the different methods for obtaining Gossamer Quartz and how you can farm it if needed.

This guide is up to date with Soulframe Preludes 15.

How to Obtain Gossamer Quartz in Soulframe

Gossamer Quartz is an important, rare crafting material that is required to craft some weapons and armour, and to craft some of the Pacts, such as Garren Rood. Many players run into the obstacle of not having enough of it, and being unsure of where to look.

Here is a list of the different ways to get Gossamer Quartz in Soulframe:

• Rare Chests – Gossamer Quartz have a chance to drop in rare chests (the ones that have a flower painted on them). You can find these chests at the end of dungeons, in hidden rooms and after some boss fights. They can also be found guarded by enemies in a variety of other dungeon and overworld locations. These chests can drop a variety of other rare materials, such as Sappheline and Moranite, so farming them for Gossamer Quartz can be a slow process.
• Crypt of the Circade – Enter the Crypt of the Circade by using a Crypt Key. Use your Spirit Vision within the Crype to locate lootable sarcophagi. Each one drops either Gossamer Quartz or Sappheline. The number of lootable sarcophagi in each run through the Crypt varies a lot, though.
• Offer a Song – If you’ve done Faction Tales, you’ve probably come across the small broken statues that you can repair by playing a tune on your flute. Taking this action yields one Gossamer Quartz, and you don’t have to be on a Tale quest to do it; you can visit them and play the tune at any time. The problem with this method is that they aren’t marked on the map outside of Faction Tales, making them difficult to find.
• Purchase – Avakot will sometimes spawn around the overworld or at the entrance of dungeons. He can also appear during Faction Tales. He has a rotating stock, which sometimes includes rare crafting materials like Gossamer Quartz. Buying Gossamer Quartz this way costs 1,500 Dracs each, and the quantity available for purchase appears to be limited. This isn’t a reliable way of warming Gossamer Quartz, but when you get lucky, you can buy several at once.

Note: In the Preludes 11 patch, it became possible for Gossamer Quartz to drop in standard chests, too. This doesn’t happen very often, but it should be frequent enough to make this item significantly easier to accumulate.

How to Farm Gossamer Quartz in Soulframe

Now that we know how to find Gossamer Quartz, which method is the best for farming the item quickly?

I’ve found that the most consistent way to obtain Gossamer Quartz is to farm the Crypt coffins as mentioned above, assuming you have enough Crypt Keys to do so. They seem to have a roughly 50% drop chance from each Sarcophagus you open, making this by far the most reliable way to obtain them. The downside is that some Crypt runs don’t have many lootable coffins, and sometimes there can be none at all. You’ll sometimes get unlucky and get a bunch of Sappheline and no Gossamer Quartz (although this is also another rare crafting material that you’re going to need at some point.

If you have the Crypt Keys, it’s still good to do the Crypt farm. But if you don’t have any Crypt Keys, this method becomes far too time-consuming because farming Crypt Keys to enter the Crypt is an unreliable process that will compound your difficulties. In this case, it’s best to farm the rare chests in standard dungeons (such as the Undercity or Glades), which have a lower drop rate but are easier to farm. You can identify these chests by their wooden appearance, with a flower painted on the top.

Even with these methods, farming enough Gossamer Quartz to craft everything will take several hours. If you’re not up for that kind of grind, then I recommend playing the game normally and making do without the items you are missing (for now). You will eventually get enough Gossamer Quartz by playing the game normally, but it will take a lot longer than doing a targeted farm.

Gossamer Quartz is currently one of the most time-consuming items to farm in Soulframe, but I hope this guide helped you find some.
