The Dragon’s Dogma 2 Sorcerer Vocation Class is an advanced Magick vocation that specializes in elemental attacks.  Unlike the Mage who has a variety of support options, the sorcerer will be large scale devastating Magick attacks for all elements.  Hence they will have options of point blank AOE type Magick attacks on a shorter cast time and very wide area attacks that will have a very long cast time to successfully deploy.  As a result, positioning and timing of casting these spells will be imperative to success.

The Sorcerer Vocation is not available at the start of the game but can be unlocked. It is one of the easiest Vocations to unlock in DD2; we have a guide that explains how to unlock the Sorcerer.

Table of Contents:

The Sorcerer Vocation are the masters of offensive magical attacks and leveraging elemental debilitations based on their corresponding spells.  For example, Bolide will unleash a wave of meteors that will burn targets after impact. Whereas Hagol will freeze targets in addition to its cold damage.  Therefore, if a Sorcerer is not being interrupted during a fight, it will completely annihilate groups of enemies while still bringing effective damage and control on larger foes.  Bolide’s meteors could strike weak points on a large target’s back or switch to Levin on a Cyclops who is weak to lightning damage.

Being readily adaptable with various elements at your disposal is one of the great benefits of the Sorcerer Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2.  However, they are susceptible to damage and qualify as the ‘glass cannon’ with very low HP gains, strength, and defense while leveling up.  On the other hand, they do have very high Magick and Magick Defense gain per level.  Ultimately, the Sorcerer Vocation unleashes visual destruction at a range and is a must play for any players that enjoy Magick.
