Nazaray is a new Monster Set that will launch with the Ascending Tide DLC for ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) in mid March of 2022. In this article we are going to take a look at how good the new Monster Set is. The Nazaray Monster Set head piece drops in the Shipwright’s Regret Dungeon and the shoulder piece can be obtained via the Undaunted rewards from doing dailies.
What does the Nazaray Monster Set do in ESO?
Nazaray increases Major and Minor Debuff times on the enemy by a huge amount. For every 20 ultimate points saved you will gain 1 extra second of the debuff that is applied on the enemy. That means if you stack up to the maximum ultimate points of 500 you could get an extra 25 seconds of debuff time on the enemy. This doesn’t sound very exciting but if you have the right debuffs on the enemy this can make a huge difference. Especially looking at PvE Raids at the start of a boss fight where a tank can easily stack up to 500 ultimate points.
Lets take the Major Vulnerability debuff, which is usually applied by a Necromancer via the Colossus ultimate. That debuff increases the damage of the whole group by an insane 10% and usually lasts 12 seconds. However, if a tank activates Nazaray while the enemy has the debuff on him, you can get an extra 25 seconds of Major Vulnerability debuff time. Now you can see how powerful this set can truly be if you have the right debuffs on the enemy.
Of course this is just one example, any debuff gets a longer duration, you could also use Elemental Drain which applies Minor Magickasteal for 23 seconds, now it will almost last around 50 seconds. That means the healer could have more time to buff the group rather than having to reapply this ability sooner.
This is especially useful for raid groups in ESO to really get great burst damage at the start of a boss fight. The extra time on Major Vulnerability is amazing and you can dish out so much more damage. The set will also be added to the viable Endgame Tank PvE Sets List.
Fun fact: The ESO Nazaray Monster Set got already nerfed in week 2 of the Public Test Server because it was too powerful. Previously it also buffed damage over time effect duration on enemies. But because that was too powerful, they removed that part of the set and now it only adds time to debuffs and the set is still great.
Where does the Nazaray Monster Set Drop in ESO?
The ESO Nazaray Monster Set is part of the Ascending Tide DLC and drops in the Shipwright’s Regret dungeon. The looks of the Monster Set come from the second boss of the dungeon, you can see an image of the boss Nazaray below. You will have to complete the whole dungeon on veteran mode to have a chance to drop the Nazaray Monster Set, it doens’t drop in normal mode.
