ESO Night Market Factions Explained

Upon entering the zone, you speak with all three faction patrons in the Starlit Plaza and then pledge allegiance to one.

Faction Rules

Your faction choice is permanent for the duration of the event and affects your cosmetic rewards, but it does not limit gameplay in any way. Here is how it works:

• Faction choice is account-wide. All characters on your account share the same faction.
• You cannot change your faction for the duration of the event season.
• Your faction does not restrict where you can go or who you can group with. All three districts are open to everyone, and grouping works normally regardless of faction.
• You earn Faction Favor by killing enemies, completing daily quests, finishing district events and opening Night Market Reward Coffers (25 Favor each). All Favor you earn counts toward both your personal vendor unlocks and your faction’s total score on the Faction Favor Tracker.
• You can pick a different faction the next time the Night Market returns. ZeniMax has confirmed the Night Market is designed to come back at least two more times in future seasons.

Which Faction Should You Choose?

Every faction has access to the same districts, the same boss encounters and the same core gameplay. The differences come down to cosmetic rewards and which monster set you want first.

• Dyes and titles: Look at the three exclusive dyes and titles and decide which fits your characters. Glittering Gold has a bright yellow color, Ruckus Rust is darker red and Thousand Eyes Ichor is deep green/cyan.
• Collecting everything: If you want to collect everything across all three runs, the order does not matter. Just pick a different one each time.
• Grouping: Your choice does not affect grouping. You can play with friends on any faction, in any district.
• Monster sets: The monster set you receive depends on your faction. If one set is stronger for your build, that may tip the scales. See the monster set bonuses below.

Pick the faction whose rewards appeal to you most. You will get a chance at the other two in future seasons.

Earning Favor with your faction unlocks tiers of rewards at your faction vendor. Each faction has its own exclusive monster set, title, dye and banner furnishings. See the full comparison and vendor tables below.

Faction Placement Rewards

Night Market placement rewards arrive in mail when the evnet zone concludes

While you are in the Event Zone, a Faction Favor Tracker appears in the top-right corner of the screen showing the total Favor your faction has earned across all players.

When the event concludes, your faction patron sends you a mail containing a Reward Coffer, gold and a banner furnishing. The coffer contains your faction’s Monster Set helm and shoulder plus additional rewards. The quality tier below applies to the monster set pieces inside the coffer.

The second-place coffer is called Exceptional [Faction] Reward Coffer and contains Epic-quality uncollected head and shoulder pieces from your faction’s Monster Set.

This placement system is a large part of why the Night Market is designed to return. Each run gives you a shot at a different faction’s monster set, and across three appearances you can collect all three.

Night Market Monster Sets: Glittering Goad, The Ruckus and Thousand Eyes

Each faction has an exclusive monster set that you receive from your end-of-event Reward Coffer. The set you get is locked to your faction, making this one of the most important factors in your choice. You can collect the other two sets in future Night Market runs.

Glittering Goad

• 1pc: +129 Weapon and Spell Damage
• 2pc: Dealing damage with a Bash or Heavy Attack deals Frost Damage over 8 seconds. If the effect completes, the enemy applies Minor Brittle to up to 6 enemies within 12 meters for 10 seconds. If the enemy dies, it restores 847 Magicka and Stamina to you and group members within 12 meters. 8-second cooldown.

The Ruckus

• 1pc: +1206 Max Health
• 2pc: Taking or dealing direct damage grants 1 stack of Enraged for 10 seconds (1 stack per second, up to 10). At max stacks you gain Major Protection, Major Expedition and Major Force for 10 seconds. When max Enraged ends, your Stamina, Magicka and Health Recovery is reduced by 422 for 10 seconds.

Thousand Eyes

• 1pc: +657 Critical Chance
• 2pc: Dealing direct critical damage applies Shivved, dealing Bleed Damage and increasing the target’s damage taken from you by 3% for 15 seconds. When the Shivved target dies, the effect transfers to the lowest-health enemy within 12 meters, refreshing the duration and increasing damage taken by another 3%, up to 12%. One Shivved target at a time.

Vendor Rewards

Glittering Goad Faction Vendor Inventory

When you reach the required Favor level, you can buy furnishings, collectibles, curated gear coffers and style pages from your Faction Vendor in the Starlit Plaza. Favor is not consumed when you make a purchase.
Vendor stock includes faction-exclusive banner furnishings at 2,500 and 5,000 Favor, and a bound style page for your faction’s shoulder piece at 10,000 Favor. The vendor also carries curated gear coffers at various tiers, general furnishings and the Hourglass of Akatosh, Shattered. The specific set pools inside the curated coffers will be confirmed once the event goes live.

ESO Night Market Tonic of Portent Favor

The Tonic of Portent Favor is a craftable drink that grants a 100% Faction Favor bonus from all enemy and district event sources for 30 minutes. Crafting it requires three recipe fragments and three ingredients, each tied to their faction:

You need all three fragments to learn the recipe, and all three ingredients to craft the tonic. Since each faction only drops its own fragment and ingredient, you will need to trade with players from other factions to complete it.

The Provisioning passive Connoisseur increases the tonic’s duration to 50 minutes at max rank, and the Brewer passive increases servings crafted from 1 to 4. The tonic stacks with experience scrolls, Alliance Point bonuses and regular food and drink buffs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ESO Night Market faction choice account-wide?

Yes. Your faction choice applies to all characters on your account. You cannot have different characters in different factions during the same Night Market run.

Can I play with friends who chose a different Night Market faction?

Yes. Your faction does not restrict grouping, district access or any gameplay. You can group up and complete all content together regardless of faction.

Can I change my Night Market faction?

Not during the current run. Your choice is locked for the full seven weeks. You can choose a different faction the next time the Night Market returns in a future season.

Which ESO Night Market faction has the best rewards?

All three factions share the same vendor items, activities and gameplay. The differences are cosmetic: each faction has a unique monster set, title, dye and banner furnishings. Choose based on which cosmetics you prefer.

What happens if my Night Market faction loses?

Every faction receives a Reward Coffer containing their faction’s monster set helm and shoulder, gold and a banner furnishing. The only difference is item quality: first place gets gold, second gets purple and third gets blue.

Can one faction dominate the ESO Night Market?

Faction standing is based on total Favor earned by all members of that faction over the full seven-week run. No faction is locked out of any content or district and individual rewards from vendor purchases and achievements are not affected by placement. The only placement-dependent reward is the quality tier of your end-of-event Reward Coffer.
