Welcome to the Excavator-9 Guild Boss Guide for Throne & Liberty.
In this guide, we will explain all mechanics and attacks for the Excavator-9 Guild Boss in TL.
Excavator-9 is a level 28 guild boss, making it quite accessible for players of a lower level. It can be fought either in the open world or via the guild system. To find Excavator-9 in the open world, go north from the Titanreach Ruins Waypoint in Monolith Ruins. If your guild is level 9 or higher, you can instead fight Excavator-9 via the Guild Hall.
We will now look at the mechanics and attacks of this guild boss in Throne & Liberty.
Excavator-9 Boss Mechanics in Throne & Liberty
Below are all of the mechanics of Excavator-9 in Throne & Liberty:
- Basic Attack Phase – Excavator-9 uses various basic attacks against players during the fight. These come in two forms:
- Melee Attacks – Close-range melee strikes that deal heavy damage if they hit you.
- Ranged Attacks – The boss does a long wind-up animation, then does an AOE attack that can hit many players. You can jump to avoid this, if your timing is good.
- Fury Attack – Like most bosses in Throne & Liberty, Excavator-9 has a Fury Attack that must be blocked to avoid a substantial hit of damage. The boss will shout a line of dialogue and then spin three times – the third spin is when the Fury Attack will hit, so you can count the spins to help you time your block. You should also watch out for the purple indicator over the boss, this is the most consistent way to predict and block Fury Attacks that remains the same with all PvE opponents.
- Triple Attack – At random times during the fight, the boss performs a triple attack sequence. This sequence is split into the following three parts:
- Hammer Smash – The boss slams the ground with his hammer, sending out a line-shaped AOE that damages and knocks people into the air. Sidestep to avoid.
- Ground Stomp – This scatters projectiles that will turn you to stone if you are hit. Fast reaction times are useful for dodging these.
- Punch – The boss punches the ground, creating a large AOE that deals heavy damage to anyone within. Watch for AOEs on the ground when the boss begins to punch.
That wraps up all of the attacks and mechanics for Excavator-9. Once you’ve reached this point, the boss will continue to repeat the above attacks until the end of the fight.
As you can see, this boss has simple attack patterns and doesn’t have any traditional mechanics at all. All Excavator-9 has going for it is a large amount of AOEs and heavy hitting attacks – once you are comfortable avoiding these, this boss will be very easy for you.
