Welcome to The First Descendant Secret Garden Build (Tactical Rifle). This Secret Garden Build is updated for Season 3 Episode 2 and optimized for Freyna. The Secret Garden is a tactical rifle that increases skill damage when a tech skill is activated. It is most prominently used on most mobbing Freyna Builds.

This Secret Garden Build is optimized for Freyna’s Venom Baptism skill,. However, you can use this for any character that also uses the weapon.

Secret Garden Build for The First Descendant

Next, let us take a look at an optimized Secret Garden Build (Freyna) for The First Descendant. The Secret Garden is only used on Descendants who want to get the extra skill damage boost. Therefore, we don’t need to optimize the gun for damage, but rather utility. If you want to deal max damage with a weapon, use any other strong meta weapon.

Here is all the info you need to build a powerful Secret Garden for Freyna:

Secret Garden Modules

Secret Garden Module Setup Freyna TFD

Modules are an important part of every weapon build in The First Descendant. Because the Secret Garden is mostly a support weapon and here to buff our AoE damage skills, we can optimize it for Freyna’s Ultimate and add some sprint modules for faster movement. Four modules are important to buff Freyna’s fourth skill:

  • Sharp Precision Shot
  • Expand Weapon Charge
  • Coimpulsive Magazine
  • Fire Rate UP

Whatever you do, you must keep these modules slotted if you want to use the weapon with Freyna’s fourth skill.

I have also marked some modules also flex spots. Brisk Walk and Better Weapon Weight are mostly my own preference; you can replace them with anything you like.

Freyna Secret Garden Module Configuration Table
Module Slot Module Name Socket Type
1 Rifling Reinforcement Malachite
2 Better Concentration Almandine
3 Better Insight Almandine
4 Brisk Walk (Flex) Malachite
5 Better Weapon Weight (Flex) Almandine
6 Action and Reaction Malachite
7 Expand Weapon Charge Cerulean
8 Sharp Precision Shot Xantic
9 Fire Rate Up Xantic
10 Compulsive Magazine Cerulean

Weapon Readjustment

You can use the Weapon Readjustment at the Weapon Workbench in Albion. Here are the best Weapon Readjustments for the Secret Garden:

  • Rounds Per Magazine
  • Firearm Critical Hit Rate
  • Firearm Critical Hit Damage
  • Firearm ATK

Try to upgrade the Weapon Readjustments to at least purple quality.

Weapon Cores

Weapon Cores juice up your damage quite tremendously. However, especially the later-level Weapon Cores are difficult to get. So start with whatever weapon cores you have available. Weapon Cores drop in the Void Erosion Purge endgame activity.

Higher level Weapon Cores drop in the higher level Void Erosion Purge levels in The First Descendant. However, you can gradually work towards the highest level. I recommend trying to get to level six as soon as possible, since it won’t require to clear many stages and will already increase the power of your weapon tremendously.

Best Weapon Cores for the Secret Garden:

  • Free Augmentation Icon TFDSprint Speed (Free Augmentation)
  • Hit Augmentation Icon tfdFirearm Critical Hit Damage (Hit Augmentation)
  • precision augmentation icon tfdSprint Speedย (Precision Augmentation)
  • precision augmentation icon tfdSprint Speedย (Precision Augmentation)
  • special augmentation icon tfdFlexย (Special Augmentation)

We use 3x Sprint Speed so we can run through content as fast as possible while the AoE damage handles the rest. You can also go 2x Sprint Speed and 1x Grapple Hook Reduction Time if you want.

Secret Garden Lore Info

TFD Secret Garden Build Lore

It is said that this firearm was created by Albion’s most famous weapon developer for the gardener who saved his life. In fact, the blueprint for this weapon was never revealed to the world. It was only discovered later, while someone was cleaning out the Weapon Development Department’s storage area.

At first, it was mistaken for something created purely for fun due to its overly elaborate appearance. However, when the Magisters inspected it more closely, they realized it held great potential and began to develop it further.

According to a story found later within the developer’s notes, the weapon was designed to resemble the beautiful roses that bloomed in the garden of the man who saved his life.
