Welcome to the Day 1 Tips and Tricks Starter Guide for Throne and Liberty TL MMO. This is a basic guide to give you a good idea of what you should do when you start playing the new Throne and Liberty MMO.
Tips and Tricks for Throne and Liberty
Now let us take a look at some useful Day 1 Tips and Tricks that you can follow when you first play Throne and Liberty. Of course, these are just recommendations and you can do whatever you want. If you want to progress as fast as possible, it is recommended to follow these Tips and Tricks below.
Commit to the Main Story Line
Follow the purple story marker, this follows the main storyline of Throne and Liberty. While doing so make sure to also unlock all the Teleportation Stones that you find on the way. This will make it easier to fast travel around later. Go to the Overview Throne and Liberty window (F10) and then select the Codex. Or you can simply press J to access the Codex.
Once you are inside the Codex overview you can see where you are at with the Main Story Line of Throne and Liberty. Progressing this will always give good experience and rewards. It will also explain the basics such as how to upgrade a weapon or a skill. You will also get rewards for that. Make sure not to miss out on any of the optional tasks, they are always worth doing.
Unlocking Teleportation Stones
While you are following the main story or are simply exploring, make sure to unlock as many Teleportation Stones as possible. This is important because it allows you to speed up travel a lot.
Blue Quests (Exploration)
You can also complete Blue Quests that you find. However, focusing on the Main Story Quests is more important. Blue Quests can sometimes give good rewards. It is only recommeded to pick Blue Quests that give rewards that you currently need, otherwise it is recommended to just ignore them for now.
Events
The first Event will unlock after the server you play on reaches its first “Server Milestone”, so if you don’t see any at the start don’t worry.. Events get a tremendous amount of EXP and Materials, make sure to not miss out on any of them that are recommended for your level. That is also why it is important to unlock the Teleportation Stones to be quick about it if it happens.
Note: While doing the events, listen to the NPCs, they often give tips on what you have to do to rank higher during the event, this will also increase your rewards.
How to find Events in Throne and Liberty: Go to your map (M) and then select the timetable. Now you can see what events will happen. For example in the image below at 16:00 we have 4 different events that will take place. Click on one of the events to see what sort of rewards you can obtain. It will also directly show you where the location of the event is. Additionally, you can also see the recommended level.
Upgrade your Stats
Every time you level up you can upgrade your Stats, this is often something players easily forget in Throne and Liberty. Press (P) to get to your character overview. On the left side you see different attributes that you can increase. You can read our How Stat Points Work Guide to get a better understanding of what each Stat does.
Upgrade your Gear
Make sure to upgrade your starter gear to the max level 3. Chapter 1 of the Main Story (View in the Codex, press J) will also reward you when you upgrade your gear to level 3. The task is called “Developing Weapons” and you are asked to “Grow the normal grade weapon to Lv.3.” Think of this as an introduction into upgrading your gear. Once you have this step unlocked you can navigate to the Gear Enchanting overview.
Now select the Weapon you would like to upgrade. On the right side you can see if you have enough Growth Material to level up. Now you will have to reach a 100% to go from level 0 to level 1. That means it might require several Weapon Growthstones to reach level 1. Below you see the Equipment Growth Rate, this is a bit confusing but here is a simple explanation. You have a 10% chance to instantly level up the weapon from level 0 to level 1. If you only hit Common (40% chance) then your weapon will only grow by 35% progress to level 1. So it will sit at Level 0 35% Progress.
Equipment Growth Rate (100% Grow Rate = Level up):
- Common: 40% chance to grow 35%.
- Intermediate: 30% chance to grow 40%.
- Greater: 20% chance to grow 60%.
- Special: 10% chance to grow 100%.
Leveling up your Weapons will increase your overall damage. Later when you get new gear with a higher quality, you can transfer some of the experience that you used to upgrade your starter gear over. Then the new gear will cost a bit less to upgrade.

Taedal’s Tower (Secret Dungeon)
At some point you will unlock the Taedal’s Tower. This is a solo dungeon. Complete the first two floors inside the Taedal’s Tower and leave it be for now.
