Welcome to the Cornelius Guild Boss Guide for Throne & Liberty.

This guide will explain how to defeat the Cornelius boss, including details of all mechanics, attacks, and the strategy for dealing with them.

Cornelius is a level 48 boss in Throne & Liberty, and can be fought either in the open world or via the guild system. To find Cornelius in the open world, head to the Syleus Abyss open-world dungeon. If your guild is level 16 or above, you can fight Cornelius via the Guild Hall.

We will now explain Cornelius’ mechanics and attacks.

Cornelius Boss Mechanics in Throne & Liberty

Below are the mechanics and attacks of the Cornelius boss in Throne & Liberty:

  • Blue Barrier – As soon as the fight begins, a blue wall appears around the arena’s edges. This prevents players from entering the battle. If you are killed or knocked out of the arena, you will therefore be unable to return, so be careful!
  • Returning Claw – Cornelius throws a claw in a straight line, dealing damage and grabbing players. The claw then returns to Cornelius, dragging with it any players who failed to get out of the way. The best way to avoid this is to sidestep it.
  • Fury Attack – Like most bosses in Throne & Liberty, Cornelius has a Fury Attack that needs to be blocked by all players. A purple indicator appears over the boss, warning you to get ready to block the Fury Attack. This Fury Attack is a blue AOE pulse that hits everyone in the arena, and the only way to avoid the damage is to execute a well-timed block.
  • Tracking AOEs – Throughout the fight, Cornelius chooses random players and places a blue marker above them. The marked players will be followed by several AOEs that expand and explode, damaging anyone within. If you have the blue marker on your character, move away from other players (usually towards the arena’s edge) until the AOEs stop spawning. Also, watch for other players near you with the blue marker. If they don’t know the mechanic or are bad team players, they might leave their AOEs in the group for everyone else to deal with.
  • Red Curse – This mechanic is quite similar to the previous one. Several players will have a red marker above them, and a red AOE will appear around their character. This AOE follows you wherever you go and will damage other players. You must move away from other players if you have the AOE around you. Be careful not to clash with other players who have the mechanic.
  • Multi-Claw – This is similar to the Returning Claw mechanic mentioned above. This time, it will be sent out in several directions at once, following the engraved lines on the floor of the arena. Therefore, the easiest way to avoid this is to avoid standing on the engraved lines.

That is all of the mechanics for the Cornelius Guild Boss in Throne & Liberty.

The main challenge with this boss fight is space – there are a lot of AOEs and a disorganized team can cause a lot of damage to itself by misplacing AOEs. Even a couple of players in the raid who are not paying attention can be very problematic, especially since players who die will not be able to return to arena until the end of the battle. Make sure everyone in the raid knows the mechanics, especially what to do when they see a blue or red marker on their character.
