Welcome to the Chernobog Guild boss guide for Throne & Liberty.
In this guide, we will explain the Chernobog boss, including all mechanics, attacks and how to defeat this boss.
Chernobog is a level 34 boss, making it quite accessible for newer players. It can be fought either in the open world or via the guild system. To find Chernobog in the open world, head to the Abandoned Stonemason Town. If your guild is level 12 or higher, you can instead fight Chernobog via the Guild Hall.
We will now look at the mechanics and attacks of the Chernobog boss in Throne & Liberty.
Chernobog Boss Mechanics in Throne & Liberty
Below, we have listed the various attacks and mechanics of the Chernobog Guild boss in Throne & Liberty:
- Basic Attacks – Throughout the fight, Chernobog performs basic attacks against players. These are infused with Poison, dealing some extra damage over time. Having at least one healer in your raid helps to keep players healthy in spite of these attacks.
- Burrow – Chernobog periodically burrows into the ground, then emerges at the location of a random player. Any player who is caught in the immediate vicinity will be damaged, knocked back and stunned. To avoid this, watch the ground near your character when the boss burrows and be ready to take avoiding action.
- Tail Swipe – Chernobog will use a tail swipe attack to hit players stood behind him, damaging and stunning them. This is classed as a Fury Attack, so if you’re in range then you can use the purple indicator to anticipate the attack and use your block to mitigate it. A well-timed block greatly reduces the threat from this attack. If you are not standing anywhere near the tail, the Fury Attack indicator will be white, indicating that you’re out of range and don’t need to worry about it.
- Burrowing Frenzy – This is very similar to the regular Burrow mechanic and can be avoided in the same way, but now Chernobog will burrow several times in a row, also leaving lingering poison damage on players who are hit. The final burrow in this sequence also sends players high into the air. If you’re knocked into the air, use your Glide morph to avoid the subsequent fall damage.
- Petrifying Spray – Chernobog sprays out a gas/liquid in a cone-shaped area. Players hit by this will be petrified and unable to move, which is a dangerous situation to be in. Make sure to sidestep this attack in order to avoid the effects.
That is all of the mechanics and attacks in this boss fight. From this point onwards, Chernobog will repeat all of the above mechanics in a cycle until the end of the fight.
As long as you have decent reaction times, Chernobog isn’t an especially hard boss once you’ve learned the basics. Its low level of 34 also makes this quite accessible and allows players of a lower level to easily participate.
