Today we will take an in-depth look at the Blissey ex Deck List Guide for the Pokémon Trading Card Game TCG. Blissey ex is a new card launched with the Twilight Masquerade (TWM) content for the Pokémon TCG.

The Blissey ex Deck rocks the boat with a fat 300 HP on Blissey ex which is a stage 1 Pokémon. Blissey ex is our tank while dealing moderate damage. Munkidori moves damage from our Pokémon to the opponent’s. Froslass adds damage markers on checkup between rounds to annoy the opponent’s bench.

TLDR Summary of the Blissey ex Deck

TLDR: Blissey ex is our tank while also dealing good damage to the opponent’s active Pokémon. Froslass places one damage counter on each Pokémon that has an Ability, both ours and the opponent’s. This doesn’t sound like much, but checkup happens between rounds for each player. Especially on low health Pokémon it can be deadly. To help push damage even further, we use Munkidori’s Adrenaline Power ability to move damage counters from our Pokémon to the opponent’s. That way you can easily take out low health Pokémon on the opponent’s bench! Make sure to attach an energy to the monkey, otherwise you can’t use the ability. Then you can use Blissey ex’s ability to move the energy over if you need it.

Blissey ex is a stage 1 Pokémon and therefore won’t require a huge setup time. And with our Technical Machine: Turbo Energize we will be ready to attack fast because we can attach basic energies to our Pokémon fast.

If Blissey ex takes too much damage we can use Cheren’s Care to put it back into our hand, that way the opponent won’t get any prize cards! Blissey ex can become tanky with things like Rigid Band or Hero’s Cape.

The most important aspect of the Blissey ex Deck is that you learn how to move the damage counters around on the opponent’s bench to get knock outs. While also looking out for not letting Blissey ex get knocked out if possible.

Lastly, Chansey has a great ability called Lucky Bonus. If we take her as a prize card and place her on our bench. We get to flip a coin and if we hit head we get to take an additional prize card!

How to play the Blissey ex Deck TCG

Let’s take a look at the Blissey ex Deck and how it plays for the Pokémon TCG.

Blissey ex

Blissey ex is a stage 1 Pokémon and is therefore easy to setup. The Pokémon has a fat 300 HP, this makes it hard to take it out. We can also add Rigid Band or Hero’s Cape to make it even harder to take out.

Its main damage is okay at 180 but it requires three energy to attack. That is why we use Technical Machine: Turbo Energize to help us attach energies faster. Additionally, Blissey ex has the Happy Search ability that allows her to move a basic energy from one of your Pokémon to another of your Pokémon. This is important because we will have to attach energy to Munkidori for his ability to work. Then afterward we can move the energy over to Blissey ex if needed.

If it drops low on health you can use Cheren’s Care to put Blissey ex and all attached cards back into our hand, that way the opponent can’t take a prize card!

Munkidori and Froslass

We have to attach a Darkness Energy to Munkidori for his Adrenaline Power ability to work. Once per turn you can move three damage counters from your Pokémon to the opponent’s Pokémon. This doesn’t sound like much, but it will add up over time and can be an easy knock out against low health Pokémon on the opponent’s bench. And to help add even more damage counters, we also have Froslass’s Freezing Shroud ability that placed one damage counter on any Pokémon with an ability between checkups. So basically when your turn ends and once again when the opponent’s turn ends. This can add up fast.

Blissey ex and Munkidori will also take damage from this. But you can use Munkidori to move the damage counters to the opponent’s Pokémon.

Blissey ex deck list Chansey Cherens Care and Turbo Energize Pokemon TCG

Chansey

Chansey has to be searched with a Nest Ball, because it has 110 HP. It has a great ability called Lucky Bonus. If by any chance we pull Chansey from a prize card, we can place it on the bench directly and get to flip a coin. If we hit heads, we get to take one additional prize card!

You can also use the new Chansey from Twilight Masquerade that has 130 HP. Our Chansey has 110 HP and is therefore vulnerable to being oneshot by things like Radiant Greninja or double tapped by Dragapult ex which is one of the more popular decks coming in hot with Twilight Masquerade.

Technical Machine: Turbo Energize and Earthen Vessel

The Technical Machine: Turbo Energize is one of our most important cards. It allows us to increase the speed of Energy attachments. Especially important at the beginning of the game. Earthen Vessel is used to search for energy and place them in our hand, but we only have one copy in our deck.

Arven, Cheren’s Care, Iono and Boss’s Orders

Arven allows us to search for an item card and a Pokémon tool card. This is our most important supporter card because it gets us what we need the most. Iono mess with the opponent’s strategy by messing up his hand. Boss’s Orders allows us to pull any Pokémon to the active spot that we might want to knock out. But we only have one card of this in our deck.

Cheren’s Care is here to protect our pirze cards. If a Blissey ex drops low on health and you know it will be knocked out in the next turn, you can then use Cheren’s Care to put it back into your hand. That way, the opponent won’t be able to defeat it.

Nest Ball, Ultra Ball, Pokégear 3.0

Nest Ball allows us to search for Chansey, Munkidori and Snorut. Ultra Ball allows us to search for Blissey ex and Froslass. Keep in mind we only have one copy of Froslass in our deck. Therefore, check at the start of the game if its in the deck or in the prize cards.

Pokégear 3.0 is used to search for a Supporter card in case we don’t have one in our hand.

Blissey ex Deck Variations

Here are a few cards you could add to the Blissey ex Deck for the Pokémon TCG.

Blissey ex also plays well in combination with the Teal Mask Ogerpon ex Pokémon. Teal Mask Ogerpon ex’s Teal Dance ability allows you to attach additional Grass Energy to it. Then you can use Blissey ex’s ability Happy Switch to move the Grass Energy over if needed.

Additionally, you can add Radiant Tsareena to heal 20 damage from each of your Pokémon per turn.

Cheren’s Care only works for Blissey ex, that is why you want to add Professor Turo’s Scenario to your deck to be able to put Teal Mask Ogerpon ex’s in your hand if it drops to low health.

Maximum Belt is also a great addition to play more aggressively opposed to the Hero’s Cape.

With this version we also stack way more Grass Energy compared to the standard Blissey Ex deck list variant.
