Welcome, today we are going to take a first look and analyze the 15 new sets that will launch with the High Isle Chapter for ESO (The Elder Scrolls Online) the MMORPG that is developed by Zenimax Online Studios. There are three new overland sets, three new craftable sets, four new trial sets (8 if you count perfect/imperfect versions) and five new mythic item sets that will launch with the High Isle Chapter.
There are very powerful new sets in the High isle Chapter, but there are also some underwhelming ones, lets take a look! Individual tests on all the sets will follow on the Alcasthq Youtube channel.

New Mythic Item Sets for High Isle ESO
There are a total of five new Mythic Item Sets coming with the High isle Chapter for ESO (The Elder Scrolls Online). Lead locations and info will be updated on the Antiquities Overview Page once we know the location of the leads that are required to obtain these Mythics.
1. Oakensoul Mythic Item Set
The Oakensoul Ring Mythic Item Set is one if not the most overpowered set in my opinion. Of course I wouldn’t use this in all situations because you only have access to one bar with this mythic ring in ESO. However, for players that like to use one bar builds this is a must have. The amount of stats that you get from this ring alone is more powerful than anything out there, I can’t even properly express how strong this item is.
I will use this ring on all my One Bar Builds that I plan to create for the High Isle Chapter over on ESO-Hub. Make sure to keep a look out for the Alcast Author Page, the builds will be listed there eventually.
- 1 – Adds 450 Weapon and Spell Damage
- 1 – Adds 5280 Armor
- 1 – Adds 450 Health Recovery
- 1 – Adds 450 Magicka Recovery
- 1 – Adds 450 Stamina Recovery
- 1 – Adds 3737 Maximum Health
- 1 – Adds 3737 Maximum Magicka
- 1 – Adds 3737 Maximum Stamina
- 1 – Adds 1973 Critical Chance
- 1 – While equipped, you are unable to swap between your Primary and Backup Weapon Sets.
2. Dov-rha Sabatons Mythic Item Set
The Dov-rha Mythic Item Set is a bit weird, because you have to sprint for 10 seconds to gain the max stacks of 20. Once you stop a shockwave will emit, dealing damage to enemies in a 8 meter radius and giving you a damage shield equal to damage dealt.
I honestly don’t see how this set will be used because there is no way you know what will happen in 10 seconds in advance. That also means you won’t be able to prepare accordingly, rendering the set mostly useless.
Dov-rha Mythic Item Set – Sabatons
- 1 – While Sprinting gain a stack of Draconic Scales every 0.5 seconds, granting you 660 Armor, up to 20 stacks max. Upon stopping you deal Physical Damage per stack in an 8 meter shockwave, gain a damage shield equal to damage dealt, and retain Draconic Scales for 10 seconds but cannot gain new stacks. At 20 stacks, this damage will also stun for 3 seconds. The damage scales off the higher of your Physical or Spell Resistance.
3. Lefthander’s War Girdle Mythic Item Set
The Lefthander’s War Girdle Mythic Item Set is also very interesting. It applies a huge 20990 damage shield to your character when you dodge roll. It also seems that this is meant to be a pvp set because it mentions Battle Spirit. The downside is that you won’t be able to dodge roll attacks anymore.
This set might be good for players that have issues to dodge roll attacks at the right moment. This way you would at least get a 20990 damage shield that absorbs a huge amount of damage. Could definitely try this our in both PvE and PvP.
Lefthander’s War Girdle Mythic Set- Belt
- 1 – Roll Dodge no longer evades attack and instead grants a damage shield that absorbs up to 20990 damage over 1 second. This damage shield is unaffected by Battle Spirit.
4. Mora’s Whispers Mythic Item Set
The Mora’s Whisperers Mythic Item Set has a cool feature. It gets stronger if you have more of the books collected from the Shalidor’s Library. The main reason why I would wear this set to get an extra 10% Inspiration, Alliance Rank, Alliance skill, and monster kill experience. Basically a farm set. The extra crit is of course also nice.
Mora’s Whispers Mythic Set – Light Shoulders
- 1 – Gain up to 1528 Critical Chance and 10% increased Inspiration, Alliance Rank, Alliance skill, and monster kill experience based off how many books of Shalidor’s Library have been collected.
5. Sea-Serpent’s Coil Mythic Item Set
The Sea-Serpent’s Coil Mythic Item Set is a very interesting mythic item set. Bascially the first time an enemy hits you will get you a high 40% damage reduction. After you have taken damage, you gain Serpent’s Rebuke for 10 seconds, snaring yourself for 40% but gaining Major Berserk and Major Courage. This increases damage done by 10% and increases Weapon and Spell Damage by 430.
The 40% damage reduction will only be active while you don’t have the Serpent’s Rebuke buff on you.
The main problem that I have with this set is the fat 40% snare that it puts on you. If the snare was something like 20% I might actually consider it, but 40% is way too much. Movement in ESO is one of the most important tactic, if not the most important one. You can avoid a lot of damage by kiting and this mythic hinders you if you try to kite.
Currently on the test server the 40% snare also stacks with other snares, so you can’t move at all anymore. This might be an oversight from the developers, but this has to change otherwise the mythic is useless.
Sea-Serpent’s Coil Mythic Set – Ring
- 1 – While at full Health, you gain 40% damage reduction. After taking damage while at full Health in combat, you gain Serpent’s Rebuke for 10 seconds, snaring yourself by 40% and gaining Major Berserk and Major Courage, increasing your damage done by 10% and Weapon and Spell Damage by 430.The damage reduction does not apply while Serpent’s Rebuke is active.
New Craftable Sets for High Isle ESO
There are three new craftable sets, the Druid’s Braid, the Order’s Wrath and the Serpent’s Disdain. The Druid’s Braid has blown me away, this is a completely new type of set that we haven’t seen before.
6. Druid’s Braid Craftable Set
The Druid’s Braid is a new set type which allows you to equip a total of 12 pieces to gain all the possible benefits. This is the first time where we see a set go past the normal 5 pieces. This set will allow you to stack as many pieces as you want, always gaining extra effects.
Not only can this be used for PvE and PvP, but even for leveling purposes this might be great. Basically “one size fits it all” for several characts and you will never have to think about crafting different gear again to level up different specs.
The Druid’s Braid set will also replace the popular Trainee set, it just offers more and better stats and is way easier to acquire.
- 1 – Adds 1540 Maximum Health
- 2 – Adds 1401 Maximum Magicka
- 3 – Adds 1401 Maximum Stamina
- 4 – Adds 1540 Maximum Health
- 5 – Adds 1401 Maximum Magicka
- 6 – Adds 1401 Maximum Stamina
- 7 – Adds 1540 Maximum Health
- 8 – Adds 1401 Maximum Magicka
- 9 – Adds 1401 Maximum Stamina
- 10 – Adds 1540 Maximum Health
- 11 – Adds 1401 Maximum Magicka
- 12 – Adds 1401 Maximum Stamina
7. Order’s Wrath Craftable Set
Order’s Wrath is a good craftable set if you are looking to stack a lot of critical chance and critical damage. This is bascially the slightly less powerful but easier to get version of the Tzogvin’s Warband set.
- 2 – Adds 657 Critical Chance
- 3 – Adds 129 Weapons and Spell Damage
- 4 – Adds 657 Critical Chance
- 5 – Adds 943 Critical Chance
- 5 – Increases your Critical Damage and Critical Healing by 8%
8. Serpent’s Disdain Craftable Set
The Serpent’s Disdain set adds an extra 16 seconds to your status effects. Status effects normally last 4 seconds, so an extra extension of 16 seconds is huge. However, status effects are often easy to apply so this doesn’t really justify using up a whole set for just this unless you have a niche build in mind that you want to play in ESO (Elder Scrolls Online).
- 2 – Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
- 3 – Adds 1206 Maximum Health
- 4 – Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
- 5 – Increase the duration of Status Effects you apply by 16 seconds.
New Trial Sets for High Isle ESO
The new trial Dread Sail Reef has four new sets, eight if you count the perfected and imperfected versions separate. Whorl of the Depths Light Armor, Pillager’s Profit Light Armor, Coral Riptide Medium Armor and Pearlescent Ward Heavy Armor.
9. Whorl of the Depths Light Armor Trial Set
Whorl of the Depths is a light armor set that drops in the new trial Dread Sail Reef. It is meant to be worn by damage dealers. This has to be tested further but could be promising. If the effects are sticky on the enemy target and the damage scales well this could potentially be a great set. I will definitely test this more in depth on the PTS with a separate video coming.
Perfected Whorl of the Depths – Imperfected Whorl of the Depths
- 2 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
- 3 – Gain Minor Slayer at all times, increasing your damage done to Dungeon, Trial, and Arena Monsters by 5%
- 4 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
- 5 – Adds 657 Critical Chance (Perfected only)
- 5 – When you deal damage with a Light Attack, you apply Whorl of the Depths to the target, dealing 2272 Frost Damage over 8 seconds. When this effect ends, a 5 meter whirlpool is created under the target for 6 seconds and deals 1706 Frost Damage every 1 second. This effect can occur once every 18 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
10. Pillager’s Profit Light Amor Set
The second light armor set is called Pillager’s Profit and is meant to be worn by healers. This set is very unique and might be a good alternative to other strong sets. You can also backbar this set as long as you keep using the ultimate on your backbar, making it even a bit better. However, you would have to coordinate with your team mates, because the extra Ultimate points are useless if your group members already have maximum ultimate points.
Perfected Pillager’s Profit – Imperfected Pillager’s Profit
- 2 – Adds 4% Healing Done
- 3 – Gain Minor Aegis at all times, reducing your damage taken from Dungeon, Trial, and Arena Monsters by 5%.
- 4 – Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
- 5 – Adds 129 Magicka Recovery (Perfected only)
- 5 – Casting an Ultimate ability while in combat grants 28% of the cost as Ultimate to up to 11 group members within 12 meters. Group members can only be affected by this set every 25 seconds.
11. Coral Riptide Medium Armor Set
The Coral Riptide is a strong set that is meant to be worn by stamina damage dealers. It offers a lot of extra penetration which stamina users usually lack and then you can boost your Weapon Damage by up to 740 depending on how much stamina you are missing. Sounds familar? Bahsei’s Mania kind of works the same way. Definitely a set worth getting. However, it is a steep learning curve because you need to manage your resources well.
Perfected Coral Riptide – Imperfected Coral Riptide
- 2 – Adds 657 Critical Chance
- 3 – Gain Minor Slayer at all times, increasing your damage done to Dungeon, Trial, and Arena Monsters by 5%
- 4 – Adds 1487 Offensive Penetration
- 5 – Adds 1487 Offensive Penetration (Perfected only)
- 5 – Increase your Weapon and Spell Damage by up to 740 based on your missing Stamina
12. Pearlescent Ward Heavy Armor Set
The Pearlescent Ward is a heavy armor set for tanks. This is kind of a weird set. The set gets stronger the more dead group members you have. Therefore, while it might be fun to use and test it isn’t really useful. After all, you need your group members alive to succeed! The set could be great to recover when half the group is dead, but for the rest of the fight or when all players are alive it is pretty much useless and therefore wasted.
Perfected Pearlescent Ward – Imperfected Pearlescent Ward
- 2 – Adds 1206 Maximum Health
- 3 – Gain Minor Aegis at all times, reducing your damage taken from Dungeon, Trial, and Arena Monsters by 5%.
- 4 – Adds 4% Healing Taken
- 5 – Gains 1206 Maximum Health (Perfected only)
- 5 – Grants you and up to 11 other group members Pearlescent Ward. Pearlescent Ward increases Weapon and Spell Damage by up to 180 based on the number of group members that are alive. Pearlescent Ward increases damage reduction from non-player enemies out of 66% based on the number of group members that are dead.
New Overland Sets for High Isle ESO
There are three new Overland Sets that will launch with the High Isle Chapter in ESO. The Blessing of High isle light armor set, the Steadfast’s Mettle medium armor set and the Systres’ Scowl heavy armor set.
13. Blessing of High Isle Light Armor Set
The Blessing of High Isle set is decent but nothing out of the ordinary. The set is meant to be worn by a damage dealer but there are no spell damage bonuses in there and the magicka recovery bonus also doesn’t make the set appealing for damage dealers. heals are always coming in so the five piece bonus should almost constantly be up. However, I would actually prefer a set like Law of Julianos over this new set, it has better stats and they are also permanent, you don’t have to rely on heals to get your set to activate.
Blessing of High Isle – Light
- 2 – Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
- 3 – Adds 129 Magicka Recovery
- 4 – Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
- 5 – When you are healed while in combat, increase your Weapon and Spell Damage by 369 for 5 seconds.
14. Steadfast’s Mettle Medium Armor Set
The Steadfast’s Mettle set is requires you to have a food buff active, which all builds have anyway. Therefore you should get a 100% uptime on the 25% Core Combat Abilities reduction. You get 25% cost reduction for things like blocking or dodge rolling and sprinting. The set isn’t very useful either, it is an overland set and not meant to be super strong. I personally wouldn’t wear the set on any of my builds/ characters.
Steadfast’s Mettle – Medium
- 2 – Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
- 3 – Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
- 4 – Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
- 5 – While you have a food buff active, reduce the cost of your Core Combat Abilities by 25%
15. Systres’ Scowl Heavy Armor Set
The Systres’ Scowl set is a heavy armor set that drops in the High Isle zone. Also a very underwhelming set. When you bash you place Systres’ Scowl on the enemy. When the enemy hits you he takes a little bit frost damage. This is a heavy armor set and meant for tanks, but there are way better tanking sets available.
Systres’ Scowl – Heavy
- 2 – 1096 Maximum Stamina
- 3 – 1206 Maximum Health
- 4 – 1096 Maximum Stamina
- 5 – When you Bash an enemy, place Systres’ Scowl on them for 15 seconds. When hit by a Light Attack, a target with Systres’ Scowl takes 1973 Frost Damage, up to once every second.
I hope you enjoyed our first look and explanation about the 15 new sets that the High Isle Chapter has to offer in ESO (Elder Scrolls Online). ESO is a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) developed by ZOS (Zenimax Online Studios).
