Welcome to the ESO Stamina Sorcerer PvP Build “The Hammer” for Elder Scrolls Online.  This build is made for Cyrodiil small group play but is built to sustain itself as well for battlegrounds or Solo play.  Back bar sets can be adjusted depending on your environment such as having an active healer.

This ESO Stam Sorc Build has high burst damage and will require melee combat using 2 Handed Weapon as your main damage output.  This build is made in an effort to be much like the classic Stam Sorc builds I have used while not crutching on Sorc Wards which are due to be nerfed as soon as the ESO developers do some math on it.  This setup is flexible to add more damage or defense as needed but is setup to absorb high burst seen in Cyrodiil PvP.  You can find more builds on our ESO Builds overview page.

  • Cyrodiil & Group PvP
  • Solo and Battlegrounds PvP
  • Heavy/Medium Armor
  • 2 Handed Melee Brawler
  • High Burst Damage
  • High Mobility
  • Great Recovery Healing

Stats

Now let’s take a look at how to create the ESO Stamina Sorcerer PVP Build.  We will walk through each stage of setting up this build below.  Having Vampire will add survival and is standard for higher Health build setups currently.  We will have a Monster Set and Food focused on recovering both Magicka and Stamina in combat to allow us to heal.

Below is a picture with our self buffs.  Keep in mind, we will have Minor and Major Berserk in this build as well when attacking.  Additionally, enemies will have Major and Minor Breach, along with extra penetration from Balorgh.  Our weapon damage will jump significantly higher with multiple buffs.

Build Setup ESO Stamina Sorcerer PVP Build – Solo / Battlegrounds Play

The Solo / Battlegrounds build is different from what I use in group play.  While group play will have Rush of Agony and focus on setting up large groups of enemies, solo play will be focused on outputting heavy melee damage on a single target.

Our back bar is setup is for sustain, while our front bar will boost our damage along with a monster set.  This build is setup to be dynamic and allow you to swap in other sets for your back bar and front bar.

Gear for StamSorc PvP Build – Solo / Battlegrounds Play

Now lets take a look at the equipment you want to run for the ESO StamSorc PVP Build.  We will run Tarnished Nightmare on the Front Bar to apply pressure, burst, and a desired Crit Chance.  Wretched Vitality will provide us with sustain on our back bar with full uptime.  Balorgh will assist our damage for bursting and killing enemies.

Using an active back bar and front bar setup will allow us to use a Mythic and a Monster Set as well.

Ultimate: Dawnbreaker of Smiting Ultimate: Temporal Guard

Skill explanation:

Front Bar

  • Wield Soul: This is our Major Breach debuff and is fairly cheap given the Script choices.  It also slightly replenishes Stamina, so do not be afraid to recast this on targets and keep it up at all times when pressuring a target.  It can also provide Concussion on targets.
  • Streak: This is our main stun we want to use when Haunting Curse is triggering and doing damage.  On targets blocking excessively you can break it on cooldown with this to apply pressure.
  • Wrecking Blow: This morph provides Major Berserk allowing us to increase our damage on Dawnbreaker furthermore.  It assists in providing heavy burst damage along with all of our other buffs.
  • Reverse Slice: While you could use Executioner, there is still a fair amount of AoE damage that can be delivered after Dawnbreakers on groups of enemies.  Therefore, I use Reverse Slice to splash damage.
  • Critical Surge: Our buff skill for Major Sorcerery buff.  We will slot it on our main bar for the passive damage boosts this skill line provides.
  • Dawnbreaker of Smiting: This is our damage ultimate we either use on targets in place of streak or after a streak for targets that are trying to block constantly.

Back Bar

  • Traveling Knife: This will be used after debuffing a target with Wield Soul and before you start using Wrecking Blow.  This will off balance a target and allow you to medium attack after your wrecking blow to weave in an execute on the target, or a Dawnbreaker.
  • Quick Cloak: This provides us a speed boost and Major Evasion to mitigate various AoE damage that occurs.  Additionally, it helps proc our enchants from our back bar while pressuring a target.
  • Hurricane: Our buff skill for Major Resolve.
  • Resolving Vigor: A strong self heal that also provides Minor Resolve.  Keep the armor buff up at all times and always refresh this if you’re even remotely being targeted in a fight.
  • Dark Deal: This helps us recover our Stamina and heal additionally after Ward and Vigor.  Dark Deal also provides Minor Berserk and Force so we should reapply this buff last before we engage a target with Elemental Susceptibility.
  • Temporal Guard: A last resort option if you’re in a bad place or don’t think you have time to heal while swapping to back bar.  Additionally, this provides Minor Protection on back bar as well as a free shield from Psijic passive while blocking on back bar.

Build Setup ESO Stamina Sorcerer PVP Build – Cyrodiil Group Play

The Cyrodiil Build is a group only build I use often to pull enemies together and allow your group to focus them.  You will also be disabling and damaging them.  This setup will require a bit more sustain from your group on healing and finishing AoE damage.  Generally, Wardens are the most ideal to follow up your pulls.

Gear for StamSorc PvP Build – Cyrodiil Group Play

Now lets take a look at the equipment you want to run for the ESO StamSorc PVP Build.  We will run Rush of Agony on the Back Bar to pull enemies and Plaguebreak on the front Bar to damage groups of enemies.  Roksa can be used for sustain or Balorgh if you are comfortable with your sustain.

Using an active back bar and front bar setup will allow us to use a Mythic and a Monster Set as well.

Slot 5: Critical Surge Slot 5: Dark Deal
Ultimate: Dawnbreaker of Smiting Ultimate: Temporal Guard

Skill explanation:

Front Bar

  • Traveling Knife: This is a flex spot that I will use for debuffing.  It will amp damage from your whole party on targets that you hit.  You can put a variety of things here from a heal, a shield, or a group buff to use between pulls or before pulls.
  • Streak: This is our main stun we want to use when Haunting Curse is triggering and doing damage.  On targets blocking excessively you can break it on cooldown with this to apply pressure.
  • Whirling Blades: Our main attack after we have pulled and stunned our targets.  Follow up with this AoE which is an effective execute as well.
  • Quick Cloak: This is a good speed buff that also assists in a slight amount of damage.  Our real reason besides speed for this skill is the access to Major Evasion as well.  Use this as needed for the short term speed boost to get in position to pull targets.

Back Bar

  • Critical Rush: This is used to open up fights and pull enemies together with Rush of Agony.  This is the first skill in a multistep attack.  We Critical Rush, use Ulfsilds, then we will streak once they arrive, or Dawnbreaker.  This will lock our enemies in place for our group and wound them.
  • Ulfsilds Contingency: This morph is for debuff purposes and will allow us to root the enemies we pull.  Additionally we will add some extra mitigation in this and Minor Vulnerability to further debuff the enemy.
  • Hurricane: Our buff skill for Major Resolve.
  • Echoing Vigor: A heal for the group rather than just yourself.  If you’re in a small group, this can be Resolving Vigor.

Sorcerer Scribing Skills

ESO-Hub Skill iconESO-Hub Skill iconESO-Hub Skill icon

The ESO Scribing System has some alternatives to use for our build, but we are limited unless we are in group play.  Shocking Soul is a good option in place of Elemental Susceptibility as it will deal significant Shock Damage and is an affordable cost while replenishing Stamina, which we are more strained on than Magicka.  This allows up to run Dual Weild and an Off Balance option that will also boost our damage.  The only downside is 10 second uptime on the Major Breach and will need to be reapplied more often, but will regenerate Stamina as it does at least.

Wield Soul

Wield Soul turns into Shocking Soul with our Scribing scripts.

Traveling Knife

Traveling Knife turns into Shattering Knife with our Scribing scripts.

Ulfsild’s Contingency

Ulfsild’s Contingency turns into Binding Contingency with our Scribing scripts.

You can also test more combinations out with the ESO Scribing Simulator.

Important Info for Stamina Sorcerer PvP Build

Attributes

0 Magicka, 64 Health, 0 Stamina

Buff-food

Orzorga’s Smoked Bear Haunch Is the best option as we are primarily interested in boosting our Max Health and also increasing our Magicka and Stamina Recovery.

Mundus Stone

Your options may vary depending on your environment and race.  The Thief Mundus will put us significantly higher on Crit Chance and allow us to take advantage of Burst Windows.

Race

Orc is my favorite, anything adding Weapon/Spell Damage or Crit Damage can help.  Outside of that, anything to assist with brawling that adds more health.

Vampire or Werewolf

Using Vampire on this build at stage 3 will give grant us the best version of Undeath Passive.  When we swap to backbar and block to recover health, we will become much more durable in lower health situations and allow us additional mitigation to recover.

Potions

There are two options here.  Primarily, you want to use Potion of Immovability for the stun resistance when engaging a target, and the added Crit Chance.  If you are starting out or struggling in a fight you may opt for a Tri-Stat Potion for additional sustain (Stamina Regen) or heal to help recover in a fight.

Potion of Immovability

(Magicka Restore, Magicka Crit Chance, Immovability)
(Columbine, Lady’s smock, Namira’s Rot)

Tri-Stat Potion

(Health, Stamina, Magicka)
(Bugloss, Columbine, Dragonthorn)
