From Software added a nice little Easter egg for all the Dark Souls fans. In one of the catacombs in Elden Ring you can actually find a Dark Souls chest. The world in Elden Ring is huge and location and items are easy to miss. Especially when they are hidden behind illusory walls. yes, illusory walls are making a comeback in Elden Ring. And like in good old fashion they aren’t easy to spot.

If you want to go find the Easter egg with the Dark Souls chest you will have to go to the Road’s End Catacombs in Elden Ring. The catacomb is located in the second area of the game. Therefore it will take a while until you can actually get there. You first have to progress through the whole first zone called Limgrave and finish the Stronghold castle with the first main boss to get into the second area. However, once you are there head towards the left side of the map to find the Road’s End Catacombs.

The whole second area is difficult to navigate because there are a lot of cliffs and rocks. You might have to go further up north to make it to the left side and then move downwards to the catacombs. You have to move along the west side of the cliffs past the minor Erdtree to find the entrance to the Road’s End Catacombs to find the Dark Souls chest Easter Egg in Elden Ring.

Location of the Dark Souls Chest Easter Egg in Elden Ring Roads End Catacombs

The entrance of the Road’s End Catacombs looks like this in the screenshot below. It is easy to miss if you don’t know that a dungeon is located there. But if you are looking for it you can’t really miss it because the road does end there, like the name of the catacomb already tells you.

Once you are inside the Road’s End Catacombs you will have to go through the whole dungeon until the end. You will find a room where no monsters are present. The pillar in the middle has three arrow holsters that get activated if you stand on the trap. Go past this and in the back you can find the room with the Dark Souls chest. You will have to attack the illusory wall to find the entrance. In my case here I have already removed the illusory wall in the image below.
