Keen Strider Class Guide for Blue Protocol
In this section, we are going to take a look at how the Keen Strider works as a class in Blue Protocol.
Keen Strider – Weakpoint Mechanic
The Keen Strider’s special class mechanic is their ability to target enemy Weakpoints.
Weakpoint locations vary between enemies, but are often found on the head or back. You may be able to hit weak spots with auto aim on some enemies, but this is unlikely to be the case for most enemies so players will have to switch between auto and manual aim for maximum efficiency.
Hitting Weakpoints with certain abilities allows you to deal extra damage.
Keen Strider DPS Build Equipment
Now that we have explained the basics of how the Keen Strider class works, we will begin detailing the build itself, starting with equipment. Unlike in many other MMO and RPG games, armour in Blue Protocol is entirely cosmetic – the only item in the traditional sense that impacts your stats is your equipped weapon.
Instead of armour, Blue Protocol builds may equip a variety of “Echoes” to alter their stats.
Keen Strider Best Weapon
We recommend the Spring Thunder bow for your weapon. It has a very high Dexterity and Attack rating, making it the perfect fit for a ranged DPS build.
You can also use the Pyroclastic Bow if you have it – it is slightly weaker than Spring Thunder but the difference is slight.
Keen Strider Best Echoes
We recommend using the following Echoes for the Foe Breaker build. You can click on the Echoes to learn more about them.
Battle Echoes
- Golden Juggernaut – Increases your Critical Damage Done.
- Brigand Captain: The Brown Bear – Increases the damage of all your attacks by 4%
Enhancement Echoes
- The Bandit Roost – Increases your Defence and Dexterity
- What Happened in Half a Year? – Increases your Dexterity
- A Horned Goat on the Rocks – Reduces your Stamina Costs and increases your Dexterity
- The Elder Trickster Sings – Increases your Stun Resistance and Strength
- The Master Goblin’s Scheme – Decreases your damage taken from Ranged attacks
Keen Strider Build Skills
Once your equipment is figured out, the other thing you need to figure out is which skills you will use.
Skills in Blue Protocol are divided into three types – Basic, Tactical and Ultimate.
Basic Skills describe the basic functionality of the class and do not need to be manually equipped – they are always active. They get more powerful as they level up, to a certain point.
Tactical Skills must be manually equipped before you can use them. You can change your equipped skills outside of combat. You can equip four Tactical Skills at once. Tactical Skills will grow stronger as they level up, with four tiers for each skill. At the final tier, you are able to choose one of two variants of the skill, which can make a certain aspect of the skill considerably better, or may entirely adjust how the skill works.
Ultimate Skills are extremely powerful but have a very long cooldown – in all but the longest of fights you’ll only get one chance to use your Ultimate Skill, so try to use it in the best possible moment for maximum effect. You can only equip one Ultimate Skill.
Keen Strider DPS Build Basic Skills
Your Basic Skills are always active, they determine how your class and weapon works in certain situations.
- Arrow Rush – 4-stage attack that shoots arrows. Can move while attacking. Can hit Weak Points. Press and hold the attack button while moving forwards to shoot an arrow that deals Earth Damage.
- Curative Field – Create an AOE that grants minor health recovery.
- Dodge – After a perfect dodge, increase your Movement Speed by 20% for 5 seconds.
- Step Shot – After a perfect dodge, attempt to perform a basic attack. Can be Charged by holding the attack. Increasing the Charge Level increases Attack Power. Consumes Stamina to perform the Charge. Can hit Weak Points.
Keen Strider DPS Build Tactical Skills
You can choose four Tactical Skills to slot. For this Keen Strider DPS Build, we recommend the following skills:
- Fell Resonance – Fire an arrow that spreads a portion of elemental damage dealt to the target to nearby enemies.
- At Level 50 – Choose the version of the skill that also spreads status effects to the enemies.
- Force of Nature – Create an AOE that strengthens the Elemental status effects given to enemies. You can charge the skill to increase the radius.
- At Level 50 – Choose the morph that reduces the Elemental Resistance of enemies within the AOE.
- Earthbreaker – Shoot an arrow into the sky to create an AOE that deals Earth Damage over time.
- At Level 50 – choose the morph that increases the duration of the AOE.
- Deadly Volley – Shoot an arrow into the sky to create an AOE that deals damage over time.
- At Level 50 – choose the morph that slightly reduces the size of the AOE but increases its damage.
Keen Strider DPS Build Ultimate Skill
We’re using the Gravity Well Ultimate. It fires a special arrow that creates a gravity AOE, pulling in nearby enemies and damaging them.
This is especially useful for stacking up many enemies into your other AOEs from Earthbreaker and Deadly Volley.
How to Use the Build
This Blue Protocol Keen Strider DPS build has two main jobs to do in combat:
- Use your AOE skills to damage enemies, combining them with the Gravity Well Ultimate when you are against lots of enemies.
- Use your support skills (such as Force of Nature and Fell Resonance) to boost the damage done by yourself and your allies.
