The Oakensoul Ring Mythic Item has one of the most frustrating leads to farm right now in ESO (Elder Scrolls Online). The Oakensoul Ring mythic item is a new mythic that launched with the High Isle Chapter. The Petrified Oak Loop lead drops from Safeboxes in Murkmire and it is a shared loot drop.

It is basically the Shadowfen 2.0 fiasco. Some players might remember the Harpooner’s Wading Kilt mythic item that had the Tide-Glass Beads lead. That lead dropped in Shadowfen but only from water plants. Of course most endgame players went straight for that zone because the Kilt was one of the strongest new sets that had been introduced.

A few patches later they changed the lead to drop from all flowers in the whole zone, not just water flowers. And of course by then most of the players had already been gone and it wasn’t that packed anymore.

Most players set up macros and camped the water flowers and hope for a lucky pick. The zone chat was of course also very colorful.

Now it looks like the whole fiasco is getting repeated in Murkmire. To get the Petrified Oak Loop lead you need to open Safeboxes, these are of course very rare and you can only find them in a specific location. And now half the playerbase tries to get the last lead of the mythic, which results in a huge shitshow.

You can see a good example in the youtube video of how busy it is in Lilmoth in Murkmire:

One of the biggest streamers Fengrush also wasn’t particularly happy about the lead drop location of the Ring that launched with the new ESO High Isle Chapter.

Hopefully ZOS will eventually learn from these issues. Of course this is also only a problem at launch but every player would rather play the game than stand on one position hoping to get the lead after 5 hours.

It is highly recommended to skip this lead for now and do other things until the congestion is over.
