Welcome to the Module Farming Guide for The First Descendant. In this guide, we will explain what module farming is, why you should do it, and the best ways to farm modules in The First Descendant. We also have a Modules Database for The First Descendant if you want to take a look at all the available modules.

We also have a guide on How to increase Module Capacity in The First Descendant and The First Descendant Builds Database.

What are Modules in The First Descendant?

If you’re a new player in the First Descendant, you might not be entirely sure what Modules are.

In a nutshell, modules are components that you can slot on your character that enhance them in some way. Most Modules are straight-up stat buffs; for example, the Increased HP Module will improve your character’s Max HP. Some modules give an additional stat buff at the cost of reducing another stat – this is useful if you want your build to be heavily focused on enhancing a particular stat. And there are some rare modules that completely change how a certain aspect of your character works, usually one of their Skills or their Passive Skill.

There are two types of modules in TFD – Descendant Modules and Weapon Modules. Descendant Modules are for directly enhancing or adjusting your character, whereas Weapon Modules are applied to one of your weapons and will buff or adjust your firearm attacks with that weapon. You can also find unique Character-specific modules in The First Descendant.

Modules are an essential ingredient of creating powerful builds in the First Descendant, so it’s useful to find efficient ways of obtaining them. Even if the modules you find aren’t directly useful, you can break them down into Kuiper Shards which can then be spent to upgrade your other Modules. Visit Module Master Silion to upgrade, dismantle or combine Modules.

How Are Modules Obtained in TFD?

Modules can be obtained in the following ways in the First Descendant:

  • Defeat enemies on the battlefield, they sometimes drop Standard Modules that you can loot.
  • For Rare and Ultimate Modules, prioritise the Void Intercept missions, as these are more likely to drop modules of this quality.
  • Transcendent Modules, which are used to enhance or adjust Skills directly, can be dropped by bosses with a low drop chance in Void Intercept missions.
  • Void Intercept Bosses can also drop Ultimate Modules.
  • Find and open crates during missions for a chance to drop additional Modules.

Farming Void Intercept missions and boss fights is currently the best way to get your hands on the juicy stuff in The First Descendant.

Please note that this information is a Work in Progress. We plan to update it with more specific information about the drop locations of modules after the full release of TFD.
