- Melee Weapon Critical Hit Rate
- Melee Weapon Critical Hit Damage

Try to upgrade the Weapon Readjustments to at least purple quality.
Weapon Cores
Weapon Cores significantly boost your damage. However, especially the later-level Weapon Cores are difficult to get. So start with whatever weapon cores you have available. Weapon Cores drop in the Void Erosion Purge endgame activity.
Higher level Weapon Cores drop in the higher level Void Erosion Purge levels in The First Descendant. However, you can gradually work towards the highest level. I recommend trying to get to level six as soon as possible, since it won’t require clearing many stages and will already increase the power of your weapon tremendously.
Best Weapon Cores for the Hypernova:
- Melee Weapon ATK
- Melee Weapon Chill ATK
- Melee Weapon Chill ATK
- Melee Weapon Critical Hit Rate
- Melee Weapon Critical Hit Damage
Hypernova Lore
When energy is compressed using Arche under extremely high temperature and pressure, the energy particles naturally transform into powerful plasma. A device that maintains this plasma in a desired form by applying a new technology is the Photon Slasher. Hypernova was the first weapon to incorporate Photon Slasher technology. Though named the Photon Slasher, technically it referred to melee weapons that use light-like plasma rather than photons.
Weapons employing this Photon Slasher technology vary in performance and particle color depending on their energy source. For the Hypernova, a special minerals called Star Fragments were chosen to extract their potent energy. As the name suggests, Star Fragments are unique minerals that fell from space. These fragments landed in regions such as Sigma Sector or the Axion Plains where powerful Void Storms raged, and became eroded by Void Energy. The minerals undergo a unique nuclear reaction, generating a tremendous amount of energy in the process.
Thanks to this, despite their small size, the Hypernova possesses effective firepower against enemies like the Vulgus or the Colossi, and Deslin and many other engineers are currently focused on developing new technologies utilizing Star Fragments.
