A-TAMS Build for The First Descendant
This is a Single-Target DPS setup.
Next, let us take a look at an optimized A-TAMS Build for The First Descendant. The A-TAMS is best optimized to deal as much damage as possible with a single shot.
Here is all the info you need to create a powerful A-TAMS Build:
Note: High-Level Weapon Cores boost your weapons’ damage numbers into insanity. Make sure to get weapon cores as soon as possible!
A-TAMS Modules
Modules are an important part of every weapon build in The First Descendant. For the A-TAMS sniper rifle, we want to focus on Multi-hit, elemental damage, and increase the explosion radius.
- Elemental Damage: Adjust the elemental modules depending on what enemies you fight (Enemy elemental weakness).
| Module Slot | Module Name | Socket Type |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rifling Reinforcement | |
| 2 | Action and Reaction | |
| 3 | Fire Enhancement | |
| 4 | Superheated Gunbarrel | |
| 5 | Weak Point Expansion | |
| 6 | Weak Point Sight | |
| 7 | Charge Amplification | |
| 8 | Better Insight | |
| 9 | Better Concentration | |
| 10 | Edging Shot |
Weapon Readjustment
You can use the Weapon Readjustment at the Weapon Workbench in Albion. Here are the best Weapon Readjustments for the A-TAMS:
- Firearm ATK
- Elemental Damage (Preferably whatever the enemy is weak to that you are trying to defeat)
- Weak Point Damage
- Firearm Critical Hit Damage
Try to upgrade the Weapon Readjustments to at least purple quality.
Weapon Cores
Weapon Cores juice up your damage quite tremendously. However, especially the later-level Weapon Cores are difficult to get. So start with whatever weapon cores you have available. Weapon Cores drop in the Void Erosion Purge endgame activity.
Higher level Weapon Cores drop in the higher level Void Erosion Purge levels in The First Descendant. However, you can gradually work towards the highest level. I recommend trying to get to level six as soon as possible, since it won’t require clearing many stages and will already increase the power of your weapon tremendously.
Best Weapon Cores for the A-TAMS:
Elemental Damage (Free Augmentation)
Firearm Critical Hit Damage (Hit Augmentation)
Sprint Speed or Grapple Hook (Precision Augmentation)
Sprint Speed or Grapple Hook (Precision Augmentation)
Flex (Special Augmentation)
The Elemental Damage and Critical Hit Damage cores are important for the A-TAMS sniper rifle, the others not that much!

A-TAMS Sniper Rifle Lore
The Arche Injection-Type Anti-Materiel Sniper Rifle, A-TAMS, is a weapon that represents the pinnacle of human military technology today, by condensing the user’s Arche to accelerate the bullets. It is both a Descendant exclusive weapon and the symbol of Deslin’s love for humanity.
The Arche-injection bullet acceleration technology was originally only intended to be used in Hailey’s unique weapon, Piercing Spike, which was developed as a one-off.
This is because in addition to being prohibitively expensive to mass produce, the weapon was also developed for Hailey’s Arche and thus very limited in versatility.
But the sight of the Descendants taking to the front lines with their shoddy sniper rifles was enough to irritate Deslin. The cranky craftsman, who is filled with love for humanity, roared his armory into action.
And so began the development of A-TAMS, a more versatile version of Piercing Spike.
Of course, A-TAMS is not a downgraded weapon with reduced price and performance. It’s a weapon that blends top-of-the-line technology and outstanding Arche versatility and causes more losses to Deslio Armory the more it is produced.
However, its production is strangely well funded, almost to the point of being suspicious.
“Money? You mean the thing that comes out when I beat up Silion?” – Deslin
