As you level up Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE, you may find that your healing potions become less and less effective. This is because your max HP increases every time you level up, but the strength of your healing potions remains unchanged.
A detail that many players miss is that you can upgrade your healing potions. This requires a special crafting material called Spirit Breath. While it’s easy to get, it’s also easily missed, so this quick guide will point you to exactly where you can find Spirit Breath, and how to upgrade your potions in SL: Arise Overdrive.
How to Obtain Spirit Breath in ARISE OVERDRIVE
Spirit Breath can be earned as a first-time completion reward from many missions in Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE. The reason that many players miss this is that the game automatically scales up missions to Sung Jinwoo’s level, while the Spirit Breath typically only drops from the lowest level version of a mission.
This means that, when browsing the World Map, you need to manually turn each mission down the lowest level to see if it has Spirit Breath as a completion reward.
This is a bit of a strange system and some players have complained that lower level rewards should be granted when you complete the mission on a higher level. But in any case, this is just how it works for the time being.
How to Upgrade Potions in SL: ARISE OVERDRIVE
Your Potion Enhancement option is also easily missed in Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE, because it’s hidden away in the pause menu (press Esc) while in the Lobby.
From your Potion menu, you can choose an ingredient to assign to your potion (this can be changed at will and adds an extra effect) and you can enhance the potion, which will increase the potency and the maximum number of uses.
Each potion upgrade requires Gold and Spirit Breath – the quantity increasing at each enhancement tier. You can keep upgrading your potion this way until you eventually reach an S-Rank healing potion, the best in the game.
