Does Throne and Liberty use Unreal Engine? According to the developer NCSoft Throne and Liberty is using Unreal Engine 4. The game is set to launch in the first half of 2023. However, rumors are going around that Throne and Liberty might be delayed a bit more to upgrade the game into Unreal Engine 5.

Players do think that the latest gameplay footage in the Director’s Preview looks more polished than before and they assume it might be because it is rendered in Unreal Engine 5. You can take a look at the gameplay here:

 

Throne and Liberty DLSS 3 Nvidia

Some users also speculated that a new trailer that was posted by IGN on youtube says that Throne and Liberty will use Nvidia DLSS 3 and that this is only available within Unreal Engine 5. However, this isn’t correct. DLSS 3 can already be used with the latest version of Unreal Engine 4.

 

We know for sure that Throne and Liberty is at least based on Unreal Engine 4. We will have to wait and see for further announcements on whether they upgrade the game to Unreal Engine 5 or not.
