Introduction

Welcome to the ‘Magicka Templar PvP Group Build “Lightbringer” for Elder Scrolls Online. Make sure to bookmark the link as I will keep updating the build for each new Update of ESO. The Lightbringer Build is optimized for Organized Group Play of 12-16 in Cyrodiil.

This build is a 5-1-1 light setup with Perfect Vestment of OlorimeCrafty Alfiq and Nightflame. The best part about this build is that it allows you to run very low sustain since you have almost 45k max magicka self-buffed.

As a healer, your role is not only to keep the group alive but also to provide them with any useful group buff available in the game. Olorime is my first choice but Transmutation is also a valid option. Gossamer is also great, but I prefer when people run their own source of Major Evasion such as Phantasmal or Quick Cloak. Sets like Sanctuary, Wormcult, Ebon, Hircine or Meritorious Service are better suited for Supports roles.

  • Optimized for Organized Group Play of 12-16 in Cyrodiil
  • Resto Staff and Sword & Board
  • Light Armor
  • Great Illustrous Healing tooltip
  • High Magicka pool
  • Moderate Mobility

In case you don’t know what weaving light attacks is, make sure to check out the “Weaving Beginner Guide” which explains how to weave light attacks between abilities, aka animation canceling.

Resource Management

Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl is the Food we use with this setup. Repentance combined with the Combustion synergy from Energy Orbs, Wormcult buff always active and the Breton race passives provide us with plenty of magicka and stamina sustain for prolonged fights.

Gear

We are running a 5-1-1 Light Armor setup Perfect Vestment of Olorime, Crafty Alfiq with Nightflame. For Group Play, I found that 7 Impenetrable traits work best. You want to make sure to always stay in front of the group. If you are having issues to do so, consider transmuting some of your jewellery to Swift until you get comfortable with your positioning. I heard that Nightflame may have been stealth nerfed drastically. Earthgore is also a solid choice on a healing or support setup.

Skills

  • Repentance: You want to use this skill anytime there are players or guards’ corpses on the ground. The heal provided by this skill is actually insanely good and is one of the main reasons why templars are always on top of the healing meter.
  • Radiating Regeneration: You want to initiate an engagement with this heal and to reapply it every 3 gcds or so.
  • Illustrous Healing: Since you run Olorime, this skill is going to be the main way to proc it. You want to cast it ahead of the group, so players get Major Courage as they run into the area.
  • Breath of Life: This skill should be used only by a few healers and during specific situations. For example, when an enemy negate is used, Springs become useless and instantly disappear (for the full duration of the negate). You are better off using Breath of Life or Radiating Regeneration for the time being. Healers assigned to Breath of Life should also use it during an engagement where the enemy group is going full offense. Last and not the least, since it is a cone heal, make sure to direct yourself at the group.
  • Practiced Incantation: Remembrance is also an option if you actually die using the other morph. Near 30k health with Minor Toughness, you should be fine. Since this ultimate is stationary, you have to anticipate the direction of the leader and position yourself ahead. Use the ultimate during a push inside a breach, or when defending against an enemy group. Cancel it when you find yourself behind the group. Catch up as fast as you can to the front of the group using Elusive Mist.
  • Elusive Mist: The main reason to use this skill over Race Against Time is because when you get chained or teleported far away from your group, it is extremely hard to catch up unless you have top notch Support players who react very quickly providing you with Ward Ally and other Templars with Breath of Life. Use your own judgement.
  • Channeled Focus: Use this skill anytime you think you are going to stay in place for more than 2 seconds. Especially when flipping flags inside a keep. Remember to stand inside the rune for that extra 50% resistances. Wise to use before your ultimate since it also provides you with Minor Mending.
  • Extended Ritual: Use this skill for the same reasons as Channeled Focus. This skill provides your group members with a strong synergy that remove all harmful effects. Reapply as much as possible during heavy siege situations. The healing potential also got buffed significantly with the Scalebreaker update.
  • Reflective Light: Use a buff tracking addon to keep Minor Sorcery up for you and your group. Recast every 20 seconds. Also, a pretty nice snare affecting 3 players.
  • Solar Prison: I personally would not recommend using this skill unless you run with at least 3 templars. The healing ultimate is too important in most scenarios.
