ESO Imperial City Vendor Changes Explained

ESO Imperial City Vendor Changes Explained

With ESO Update 44 the Imperial City Tel Var Merchants wares were streamlined and the Trophy Vault Chests were replaced by a Dremora Vendor called Tur. Imperial City item-sets can now be bought as either uncurated or curated meaning you can pay less Tel Var and get random pieces of your item-set or pay more Tel Var and get only the item-set pieces you are missing. Tel Var acquisition and loss has not been changed, you still lose half of the Tel Var you carry when you die inside the Imperial City or its sewers.

Imperial District Trophy Vaults in ESO no longer have chests with random chances of different loot but instead you can use the new currency Imperial Fragments to buy set-item coffers, motifs and more. Key Fragments have been converted to the new currency Imperial Fragments which is explained more thoroughly below. You will find lists of all the different ESO Districts Trophy Vault wares.

White-Gold Tower and Imperial City Prison Dungeon Trophy Vault chests in ESO have been removed and you will instead now find the Tur from these as well. She sells uncurated coffers for their respective dungeon sets in exchange for Imperial Fragments. Additionally you can buy unbound Shoulder Style pages which are normally only available for a short period of time and bought with Undaunted Keys.

New Currency in ESO: Imperial Fragments

ESO New Imperial Fragments currency in Imperial City

The old Imperial Keys and Key Fragments in ESO have been converted to a new account-wide currency called “Imperial Fragments”. Keys and Key Fragments in ESO will be automatically converted from your inventory, or when they first go into your inventory from banks, guild traders etc. Unlike Tel Var, you do not lose this currency on death.

The Vaults found in the Imperial City District and the Imperial City Prison and White-Gold Tower Dungeon Vaults found can now be entered freely, since you no longer need keys to enter. Previously you would find a chest that you open with Keys, but now you will find a new vendor called Tur in each of these vaults.
