During this Free To Play Weekend you can explore Tamriel for free on PC/Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation®4 and dive into the rich world of the Elder Scrolls universe. The Elder Scrolls Online has been having Free to Play Weekends since 2016 when One Tamriel was released, the free game update that changed the entire game.
Before you were restricted to your Alliance, not being able to travel where you wanted unless you had quested through these areas and unlocked them and you were limited to the areas by your level. These restrictions got removed and Cyrodiil and Imperial City are the only places now where alliance truly matters!
A world without limits!
In order to participate you have to complete these steps first:
- Go visit this page in order to sign up with the event!
- Select your platform, so that you will be directed to the right place.
- Don’t forget to create an Elder Scrolls Online account, because without it will be rather hard to play!
- Download the game to the platform of your choice. Mind you, it’s about 100 GBs, so make sure you have the space.
Important! For PlayStation® you will need the Plus membership if playing on PlayStation®4 and Xbox Live Gold membership if playing on Xbox One for the Free To Play Weekend.
Content-wise you will get access to all the base game quests, dungeons, trials, the PvP content Battlegrounds (4vs4vs4) and the open world PvP areas Cyrodiil and Imperial City.
Also, 500 crowns will be added upon account creation, so that you can already buy something from the Crown Store if you so please. Crowns are the in-game micro transaction currency in The Elder Scrolls Online for which you can mainly buy Quality of Life improvements, DLCs or cosmetic items.
Additionally, you will get access to the Morrowind and Summerset DLC and their content (except for the Warden class).
And if you own the base game already, but not these DLCs/Chapters, then you can play these free for the time the Free To Play Weekend lasts.
Any characters created and any progress you have achieved will remain on your account, so that after the free trial you can easily pick up the game where you left off, if you decide to buy it.
