Welcome to the powerful Foe Breaker DPS Build for Blue Protocol (BP).

The Foe Breaker is a melee-focused DPS class armed with a heavy hammer, and is the perfect choice if you want to make a brawler build in Blue Protocol. While it is mainly a melee class, the Foe Breaker also has some close to mid range attacks.

Please note that this build is a Work in Progress, and will continue to be updated in the run up to the international release of Blue Protocol.

Foe Breaker Class Guide for Blue Protocol

In this section, we are going to take a look at how the Foe Breaker works as a class in Blue Protocol.

Foe Breaker – Cartridge Mechanic

The Foe Breaker has a special class mechanic that you need to know about to get the most out of the class. Some Foe Breaker Skills consume Cartridge ammunition, with different skills consuming different amounts (not all skills use Cartridges, however).

If there are rounds remaining in the Cartridge, you can hold the recharge button to reload the Cartridge. If the Cartridge is completely empty, pressing the recharge button will initiate a quick reload, immediately restoring 2 rounds into the Cartridge.

Foe Breaker DPS Build Equipment

Now that we have explained the basics of how the Foe Breaker class works, we will begin detailing the build itself, starting with equipment. Unlike in many other MMO and RPG games, armour in Blue Protocol is entirely cosmetic – the only item in the traditional sense that impacts your stats is your equipped weapon.

Instead of armour, Blue Protocol builds may equip a variety of “Echoes” to alter their stats.

Foe Breaker Best Weapon

We recommend using the Cindering Godhammer as your weapon.

It has a high Attack rating and good Strength, Dexterity and Resilience scores, making it ideal for a melee-focused DPS build.

Foe Breaker Best Echoes

We recommend using the following Echoes for the Foe Breaker build. You can click on the Echoes to learn more about them.

Battle Echoes

  • Palelight Watchman – Buffs your Attack Power, Strength and Dexterity. Also zaps enemies for extra Lightning damage.
  • Elenye – Increases your Strength.

Foe Breaker Build Skills

Once your equipment is figured out, the other thing you need to figure out is which skills you will use.

Skills in Blue Protocol are divided into three types – Basic, Tactical and Ultimate.

Basic Skills describe the basic functionality of the class and do not need to be manually equipped – they are always active. They get more powerful as they level up, to a certain point.

Tactical Skills must be manually equipped before you can use them. You can change your equipped skills outside of combat. You can equip four Tactical Skills at once. Tactical Skills will grow stronger as they level up, with four tiers for each skill. At the final tier, you are able to choose one of two variants of the skill, which can make a certain aspect of the skill considerably better, or may entirely adjust how the skill works.

Ultimate Skills are extremely powerful but have a very long cooldown – in all but the longest of fights you’ll only get one chance to use your Ultimate Skill, so try to use it in the best possible moment for maximum effect. You can only equip one Ultimate Skill.

Foe Breaker DPS Build Basic Skills

Your Basic Skills are always active, they determine how your class and weapon works in certain situations.

  • Sledge Swing – This is your basic attack. Your character swings their hammer to damage enemies. This is a multi-stage attack, involving a combination of two different hammer swings. The first swing is always a simple attack, but the second swing can be adjusted depending on which direction your character is moving in when you activate it:
    • Moving left or right will change the second swing into a horizontal slash attack.
    • Moving forwards will change the second swing into a thrust that deals Earth Damage.
    • Moving backwards will change the second swing into an uppercut that grants you 10% increased Defence.
  • Sledgeball – Multi-stage attack that shoots rounds from your Cartridge. Pulls in enemies hit by the final hit. Consumes 1 Round, Hold Skill to Reload. If you reload with 0 remaining Rounds, it becomes a Quick Reload, immediately restoring 2 rounds.
  • Aerial Attack – Your Aerial Attacks debuff enemy Movement Speed by 20% for 10 seconds.

Foe Breaker DPS Build Tactical Skills

You can choose four Tactical Skills to slot. For this Foe Breaker DPS Build, we recommend the following skills:

  • Stoneskin – Give yourself a damage shield equal to 60% of your HP. You also gain Super Armour for 20 seconds or until the damage shield is fully depleted.
    • At Level 50, choose the morph that buffs the damage shield to 90% of HP.
  • Dustdevil – Hold the skill to perform a spinning attack that deals Earth Damage and pulls enemies towards you, reducing their Movement Speed by 15%. Consumes 3 Rounds. The cooldown of this skill is only 10 seconds, so you can use it pretty often to deal lots of AOE damage to enemies around you.
    • At Level 50, choose the morph that increases the damage of the skill.
  • Pulverizing Pound – Jump up and perform a slam attack at the target location. Consumes 3 Rounds.
    • At Level 50, we recommend choosing the morph that increases the damage of Pulverizing Pound when it is used against staggered enemies.
  • Curative Cartridges – Use a special round to recover your HP.
    • At Level 50, we recommend the morph that increases the healing amount.

Foe Breaker DPS Build Ultimate Skill

We’re using the Terraquake ultimate, which launches enemies into the air and creates an AOE that deals heavy damage. This is the ideal skill for devastating packs of enemies, but you can also use it against a single target.

Like all Ultimates in Blue Protocol, it has a very long cooldown, so be careful to get the timing and positioning right so you don’t waste it.

How to Use the Build

The bread and butter of the Foe Breaker Build is to use Dustdevil to pull enemies towards you. You can then get much better use from your powerful AOE attacks like Pulverizing Pound and Terraquake.

Use Stoneskin and Curative Cartridges when needed to buff your defenses and healing. You can replace Curative Cartridges with another skill if the situation requires you to carry out a special role or counter a specific threat.
