In this short guide, we will explain how to obtain the Helldusk Armour in Baldur’s Gate 3.

The Helldusk Armour is a legendary Heavy Armour piece that grants very powerful defensive buffs to the wearer, therefore it is very sought after. Please note that due to the location of the Helldusk Armour in the game, this guide will inevitably contain some spoilers for Act III, however we will keep these as limited as possible.

While anyone can wear the Helldusk Armour in BG3, you may find it especially useful on melee-focused builds such as the Fighter, Cleric or Paladin.

What is the Helldusk Armour in BG3?

The Helldusk Armour comes with a very high Armour Class of 21. Higher Armour Class makes it harder for enemy Attack Rolls to hit you.

A unique feature of the Helldusk Armour is that the wearer gains Heavy Armour Proficiency when they equip this armour, meaning basically anyone can wear it and get the full effects, even if they usually have no armour proficiency at all.

The Helldusk Armour gives the wearer Resistance to Fire Damage and immunity to the Burning condition, and reduces all incoming damage by 3 points. Succeeding a Saving Throw while wearing this armour will cause the enemy that caused the Saving Throw to start Burning for 3 turns. As a final bonus, you also unlock the ability to fly when you are wearing the Helldusk Armour.

All of this makes the Helldusk Armour very powerful, and you may want to combine it with the Helm of Balduran to make an extremely tanky build, or you could instead give each item to a different party member for a more even split of the powerful defensive buffs that these items provide.

How to Get the Helldusk Armour in BG3

The Helldusk Armour is looted from Raphael in the House of Hope in Act III, meaning you will need to kill him in order to obtain the armour. If you decide to take Raphael’s deal in Act III then you will not be able to get the Helldusk Armour.

The easiest way to start the encounter with Raphael is to begin the quest called Deal with the Devil, which you can begin by speaking to either Mamzell Amira or Korrilla in Sharess’ Caress.
