Ultimate Weapons are the most powerful group of weapons in the game, and the rarest. They are set apart from other weapons by their Weapon Ability – a unique, passive ability applied to the weapon that adds extra functionality. For example you can find a weapon that puts debuffs on enemies, or one that deals extra damage under certain conditions. Getting Ultimate Weapons is a vital part of creating an endgame level build in TFD. After obtaining your Ultimate Weapons, you can also upgrade the Weapon Ability – we’ve explained more about this in our Weapon Powerlevel Guide.

Farming Ultimate Weapons in The First Descendant
Unlike Standard and Rare weapons, Ultimate Weapons are not looted from missions but must be created via the Research system. To get started with this, visit the NPC called Anais in Albion. Speak to her and access the Research Requests menu.
In the Research Requests menu, go to the Weapons category. You can see an overview of all locked weapons. Click on the weapon you want to create to see more information about what you need.
All of the ultimate weapons require advanced crafting materials in The First Descendant. Below, we will explain how to obtain these materials.
How to Obtain the Materials for Your Ultimate Weapons
When you are viewing the weapon you want to create, you can see the crafting materials required on the right side of the screen. However, these crafting items are also items that you may never have heard of. The good news is, you can hover over them too and press the prompted button to view what is required to craft them. This will open another menu.
Repeat the same trick again, hover over the next set of materials and this time you will see a button prompt to view Acqusition Info.
You can now see exactly which missions you need to do to earn each material. These are the missions you need to farm in The First Descendant.
The best way to farm the Ultimate Weapon you want is to use this method to figure out which Missions you need to farm, then keep replaying those missions until you get the required items.
This process can take a little while to finish and is a bit grindy, but it is also simple – you just need to farm the materials for all four of the items that are required to research the Ultimate Weapon.
Finishing the Research to unlock Ultimate Weapons
When you have all of the required materials for one of the weapon components, you can research it provided you have enough gold. This will take some time to complete.
Once you’ve researched all of the weapon components, you can finally move onto creating the weapon itself. Again, this takes some time, usually a few hours, and has a considerable gold cost. When it is finished, you can use your new Ultimate Weapon.
