How to Unlock Map Areas in Soulframe – Uncloud the Map!

A common problem for new Soulframe players is finding that the majority of the in-game map is covered in clouds, making it difficult to find your way around.

In this short guide, we’ll explain what you must do to unlock new map areas in Soulframe and uncloud the map.

Why is the Soulframe Map Clouded Over?

When you first start playing Soulframe, it looks like most of the map is locked and inaccessible, because around 90 percent of it appears as clouded over in the in-game map. However, you can explore the entirety of the map right away, even the clouded areas.

The clouds just mean you haven’t “discovered” an area yet, which can seem strange when you have visited an area, but the game still counts it as “undiscovered”.

It can be tricky to find your way around when the map is clouded over, but luckily, there is a simple action you can do to clear the clouds from each map area.

How to Unlock Map Areas in Soulframe

To remove the clouds, you must unlock each area of the map. This is done by locating a World Tree and interacting with it to remove the cursed spear from its trunk. This quick process will unlock the area and remove the clouds on the map. You can faintly see the icon for each World Tree beneath the clouds, so you don’t need to spend much time searching for them.

It’s possible to unlock the entire map in around an hour by running to each World Tree and activating them all in turn. If you do decide to unlock them all in one go, beware that some areas may contain higher-level enemies, and some of the World Trees are guarded. Most, if not all of them, can be activated without combat, though.

Once you’ve interacted with all of the World Trees in Soulframe, you will have a much easier time navigating the in-game map and finding points of interest.
