How to Switch Your Faction in Soulframe

In this guide, we will explain how you can change your faction in Soulframe. This guide is up to date with Soulframe Preludes 11.

Many players eventually decide to switch their Soulframe Faction, either because they didn’t like their starting faction or to unlock rewards that are exclusive to certain factions – for example, the Oscelda Pact is only unlockable by players in the Alca’s Children Faction.

Each Soulframe Faction is aligned to one of the three Virtues:

• Courage – Kith of Kings
• Spirit – Alca’s Children
• Grace – Silent Rose

Your starting faction depends on which of the three Virtues you pledged to at the beginning of the game. You also get a faction-specific totem that aligns you with your faction and grants you a +1 bonus to the associated Virtue.

However, once you have progressed sufficiently within your starting faction, you can start the process of changing to one of the other options.

How to Change Your Faction in Soulframe

Here is a step-by-step explanation of changing your faction in Soulframe.

Step 1 – Get a Sacred Shimmer

Before you can change your Faction, you will need to progress in your current faction to a certain point.

Visit your Faction Leader in your Faction’s Enclave and ask them where you stand. From the following screen, choose “View Favours“. Look for an item called Sacred Shimmer.

You must have at least rank 3 in your Faction and have 3,000 Faction Standing ready to spend to purchase Sacred Shimmer.

It can be a time-consuming process to farm enough Faction Standing to rank up three times and then farm another 3,000 standing – in total you need to get 18,000 faction standing to complete the process, assuming you are starting from zero. Step 2 – Craft the Faction Totem

Once you’ve purchased Sacred Shimmer, head to your Nightfold and speak to Tuvalkane the blacksmith. See also: How to Recruit Tuvalkane in Soulframe.

You need to craft one of three totems, depending on which faction you would like to join:

• Kith of Kings – Medallion of Mora
• Alca’s Children – Sproutfolk Seed
• Silent Rose – Rose’s Bodkin

All of these Totems require one Fragment, which you will probably find from loot in the process of farming the required Faction Standing to buy the Sproutfolk Seed, which is also required for the crafting. You need 4,000 Dracs, too.

Once you have all of these, you can ask Tuvalkane to craft the totem, which will take 24 hours of real time.

Step 3 – Visit Your New Faction

When the Totem has been crafted, return to Tuvalkane and collect it from the Assembled tab. Go to your tent and equip the new Totem, replacing your original one.

Next, you must visit the enclave of the faction you want to join and speak to their leader with your new Totem equipped. The map below shows the locations of all three Faction Enclaves in Soulframe.

Speak to the faction leader and offer to pledge to their faction. A message will pop up on your screen asking you to confirm your choice. You are currently limited to one faction change per week.

You can now begin completing Tale quests for your new faction. If you still see quests spawning for your old faction, try to restart Soulframe, and the issue should be fixed.
