Welcome to the One Bar Arcanist Build for ESO (The Elder Scrolls Online). This build is focused on a Heavy Attack playstyle with only one bar. To unleash the full power of the build you will need the Oakensoul Ring Mythic item. However, we will also take a look at a setup without a Mythic item in case you don’t have access to them. You need the Greymoor DLC to get access to Mythic items.

The ESO One Bar Arcanist Build has a slow rotation due to the many heavy attacks we use. In addition, we also only use one bar. Thus, the rotation of the One Bar Arcanist Build is easy to learn because of the slow pace of the rotation and the few skills you have to pay attention to.

Arcanist One Bar Setup

5x Sergeant’s Mail, 5x Storm Master, 1x Oakensoul Ring, 1x Slimecraw on a Dark Elf with Mistral Banana-Bunny Hash buff food.

• Unbuffed: Out of combat and buff food active.
• Buffed: In combat, buff food, Raid Target Dummy buffs and Potions active.

We are going to take a look at two different setups for the 1 Bar Arcanist Build. They are almost identical with the only exception being that the first setup uses a Mythic item, and the second setup uses a full Monster Set.

• Setup 1: 5x Sergeant’s Mail, 5x Storm Master, 1x Slimecraw, 1x Oakensoul Ring
• Setup 2: 5x Sergeant’s Maill, 5x Storm Master, 2x Stormfist

Setup 1 One Bar Arcanist

The Gear for the One Bar Arcanist Build is fairly easy to obtain. The Sergeant’s Mail and Storm Master set are obtainable from easy base game dungeons. The same counts for the Slimecraw and Stormfist Monster Sets. You will only need the Stormfist Monster Set if you don’t have access to the Oakensoul Ring Mythic item.

Why Medium Armor? This is primarily a magicka build but you will notice that we are using medium armor. Since the devs did hybridization it can be that medium armor can perform better, even on a magicka spec. This is the case for this build.

Setup 1 Gear

This is the prime gear setup that you should work towards. Both the Sergeant’s Mail and the Storm Master buff your powerful heavy attacks in the One Bar Arcanist Build. The Oakensoul Ring Mythic item gives you a lot of juicy buffs as well. And then we have one slot where we place one piece of the Slimecraw Monster Set to get some extra stats.

Setup 2 Gear

In the gear setup 2 for the One Bar Arcanist we use two pieces of the Stormfist Monster Set instead of 1x Oakensoul and 1x Slimecraw. Anything else stays the same on the build.

Sergeant’s Mail: Wayrest Sewers 1 & 2 Dungeon
Oakensoul Ring: Antiquities System
Slimecraw: vWayrest Sewers 1, Undaunted Chest Reward
Stormfist: Head, Tempest Island. Shoulder, Glirion Undaunted Chest

Setup 1 Skills

Skill explanation:

• Fulminating Rune: Great damage over time effect that has a long duration and sticks to the enemy target.
• Unstable Wall of Elements: One of your main damage abilities, keep it up all the times on the enemies plus it also explodes with nice damage.
• Barbed Trap: Deals good damage and also applies status effects. This is a flex spot, you can swap this ability out with something else like a shield if you prefer.
• Mystic Orb: Great AoE damage ability that slowly moves forward.
• Cephaliarch’s Flail: Deals good damage and adds a debuff to the enemy which increases your overall damage.
• The Languid Eye: Your ultimate, deals great single target damage on the enemy.

Heavy Attacks: Always do your Heavy Attacks if you don’t have to reapply a skill. Heavy Attacks deal the most damage out of all your abilities.

Champion Points for the One Bar Arcanist

With this One Bar Arcanist Build for ESO you can use the Mistral Banana-Bunny Hash buff food. This will increase your Health and Magicka by a lot. And because we do a lot of heavy attacks with the build we also don’t need to be concerned about sustain.

Mistral Banana-Bunny Hash

You can either run normal Magicka Potions or Tri-Stat Potions when you have the Oakensoul Ring equipped.

Make sure to have the Alchemy passive Medicinal Use, to fully benefit from the potions with a 100% uptime!

Heavy Attacks and the Oakensoul Ring Explanation

Let us take a look at what makes the One Bar Arcanist build so effective in ESO (The Elder Scrolls Online). The Oakensoul Ring Mythic item works well in combination with Heavy Attacks. Heavy Attacks are slow-paced. Therefore it is great that the Oakensoul Ring keeps up most of our important buffs. That way we don’t need to take care of rebuffing ourselves all the time. So we can focus on simply doing Heavy Attacks and keeping the few damage over time abilities active that we have. Of course, with only one bar we have to be very picky with our skills already.

The Empower buff is arguably the most important buff that the Oakensoul Ring applies to our character. Empower buffs your Heavy Attacks by a crazy 70% and you just get it for free by just wearing the ring.

There are plenty more buffs that the Oakensoul Ring provides.

If you don’t have the Oakensoul Ring you will obviously deal less damage than with it with this build. The build will of course still work but you will deal less damage when you are using the secondary setup of the One Bar Arcanist build.

The main reason why we do use a shock staff is also because the Heavy Attacks from a shock staff are easier to connect to enemies and they also deal splash AoE damage.
