The Night Market is The Elder Scrolls Online’s (ESO) first Event Zone, a limited-time high-difficulty PvE area set in the Oblivion realm of Fargrave. It runs from April 29 to June 17, 2026 as part of Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk (Update 49). This guide covers all three entry methods, where to find the Night Market on the map, what happens when you arrive and how to return quickly.

ESO Night Market Entry Methods
There are three ways to reach the Night Market while the event is active.
- Crown Store Quest Starter: Open the Crown Store, go to Quest Starters > Events and pick up “Those Who Would Rule” for free. Follow the quest to the Night Market.
- Fargrave Map Icon: Open the Fargrave zone map and select the Night Market icon to teleport directly to the Starlit Plaza.
- The Curator NPC: Travel to the Shambles in Fargrave and find The Curator. He guides you through a portal into Starlit Plaza.
| Method | How It Works |
|---|---|
| Crown Store Quest Starter | Open the Crown Store, go to Quest Starters > Events and pick up “Those Who Would Rule” for free. Follow the quest to the Night Market. |
| Fargrave Map Icon | Open the Fargrave zone map and select the Night Market icon to teleport directly to the Starlit Plaza. |
| The Curator NPC | Travel to the Shambles in Fargrave and find The Curator. He guides you through a portal into Starlit Plaza. |
The Crown Store quest starter is the best option for first-time visitors. It points you directly to the Night Market in Fargrave if you press the “Show on Map” button. It also starts the introductory quest that unlocks the free Night’s Den player house.
If you prefer to walk there manually, the Curator NPC is located in Fargrave, just west of The Shambles Wayshrine. Look for the portal entrance near his location.
ESO Night Market: What Happens When You Arrive
You land in the Starlit Plaza, the Night Market’s central hub in ESO. Crafting stations, faction vendors and daily quest givers are all here.
The introductory quest “Those Who Would Rule” walks you through the three faction leaders and asks you to pledge to one of them:
- The Glittering Goad (Patron: Tachien): Wealth-focused meritocracy
- The Ruckus (Patron: Kharakhal Moon-Eye): Strength-driven enforcers
- The Thousand Eyes (Patron: Molto the Whisperer): Knowledge brokers who find power in numbers
Your faction choice is account-wide and locked for the duration of the event. You can pick a different faction the next time the Night Market returns. Faction choice does not prevent you from grouping with players on other factions. You all share the same districts, bosses and content regardless of which faction you picked.
Completing the introductory quest also gives you the Night’s Den, a free player house inside the Night Market with a functional bank (at 3,000 Favor) and three expandable wings. It also doubles as a convenient travel shortcut back into the zone whenever the event is active.
ESO Night Market: How to Return Quickly
Once you have the Night’s Den house, you can port back to the Night Market at any time by traveling to your house. This works from anywhere in Tamriel and costs nothing, making it the most convenient way to re-enter the Night Market in ESO.
Other return methods:
- Starlit Plaza Wayshrine: Available on your map after your first visit
- Fargrave map icon: Same as the first-time entry method
- Guild member or friend port: Travel to a player who is already in the zone
ESO Night Market: Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the Fargrave/Deadlands DLC to enter the ESO Night Market?
No. The Night Market is a separate instance from the Fargrave/Deadlands DLC zone. You enter through its own portal, so Deadlands DLC ownership is not required
Is the Night Market permanent?
No. It is a recurring seasonal event. The first run ends June 17, 2026. ZOS has confirmed it will return at least two more times.
Can I enter solo?
Yes. The zone is not group-locked. Solo play is possible, but the Night Market is tuned significantly harder than standard overland content. Grouping up or following other players will make things easier.
Does my Tamriel Tome tier affect Night Market access?
No. The free Tamriel Tome, Premium Tome and Premium Plus Tome have no effect on Night Market access. They are separate systems.
