Welcome to the Vehicles List for Dune: Awakening.
In Dune: Awakening, players will be able to use a variety of different ground and flying vehicles. These allow you to travel the deadly sands of Arrakis more quickly and safely. Some vehicles can also be used for combat with PvE enemies, or against other players in the PvP areas.
Most vehicles need to be crafted in order to obtain them.
Please note that this page is currently a Work in Progress, and we will continue to update it as more information comes to light about the vehicles available in Dune: Awakening.
Ground Vehicles
There are a plethora of Ground Vehicles available in Dune: Awakening. These are great for quickly traveling shorter distances and spending as little time as possible on the deadly sands. They are usually cheaper to build than flying vehicles.
Trike
Trikes are small, agile vehicles reminiscent of a dirt bike, but running on tracks instead of wheels. They will probably be fairly cheap to build, allowing players to traverse sandy areas much more quickly, but they lack any real armaments or protection. The Survive Arrakis trailer showed a character emerging from their base on a trike and chasing down a crashing aircraft.
Quad Groundcar
Quad groundcars are much larger versions of trikes, and as their name suggests they have four tracks instead of three. They appear to come in a variety of sizes and variants, with differing amounts of armour and different weapons available.
There might be preset templates that we get to choose from when crafting, or players might be able to customize their own quad. These vehicles appear to be quite common in pre-release footage, so it’s likely they will be the basic combat vehicle used by players in Dune: Awakening.
Tanks
Pre-release material has shown some tanks – and they’re pretty much what you would expect from their real-life counterparts. Heavily armoured and coming with some heavy firepower, these probably won’t be cheap or easy to build, but will grant the owner of such a vehicle a serious advantage in combat.
We don’t know exactly how common tanks will be or what variants will be available, but a brief shot from pre-release footage showed a tank armed with a flamethrower, so it seems probable that there will be some kind of weapon customisation available (we are of course assuming these vehicles are indeed available to players, and not just NPC enemies).
Flying Vehicles
Flying vehicles are better suited for traveling longer distances. They can be used for carrying cargo, and some flying vehicles are kitted out with heavy weapons that can be used in PvE or PvP combat.
Ornithopter
Pre-release gameplay footage of Dune: Awakening has shown Ornithopters. These are essentially the Dune universe’s version of helicopters – instead of rotor blades it uses rapidly flapping wings for propulsion – it looks a bit like a giant dragonfly.
In the Survive Arrakis trailer, we saw an Ornithopter firing its weapons at another aircraft, strongly indicating that there will be some type of combat between air vehicles in Dune: Awakening.
