Arcane Archer Build

Devastate enemies from afar by using arcane shots to deal extra damage and debuff your foes.

This is one of the most versatile subclasses in the game, because it retains access to the Fighter’s default melee prowess, allowing you to be a real menace from any range. While the BG3 Arcane Archer Build isn’t as good at raw damage output as some other Fighter variants, it makes up for it by effectively having no weaknesses.

Battle Master Build

Take the role of a team-leader, using special Battle Master Actions to inspire allies to greater heights, or cripple enemies with powerful actions that deal bonus damage and can knock them prone, disarm them or leave them too terrified to act.

The BG3 Battle Master Build uses one of the strongest subclasses in BG3 and a great starting point for beginners.

Champion Build

The BG3 Champion Build cuts out all of the extras and simply does one thing – maximises the Fighter’s raw damage potential as much as possible.

With the Champion build, you land Critical Hits more easily, requiring a roll of only 19 rather than 20. This might sound like a small effect, but it effectively doubles the base crit chance, significantly increasing your average damage output.

In our Champion Build, we’ll build on this boost by making your Critical Hits as likely and as damaging as possible.

Eldritch Knight Build

The BG3 Eldritch Knight Build adds spellcasting to the Fighter class.

While your spells will never reach the heights of dedicated spellcasters like the Wizard and Cleric, you can nevertheless use your basic grip of spells to boost your own melee attacks and mobility, or to debuff foes.

Lae’zel Build

While she is not initially everybody’s cup of tea, Lae’zel is an excellent melee fighter who can undergo a decent redemption arc if you stick with her.
