Welcome to the Wand and Dagger PvP Build for Throne & Liberty. The Wand & Tome and Dagger is the ideal weapon combination for a PvP Healer and Support build, as the high Crit Chance from your Daggers will allow you to get lots of Critical Healing output. This makes you a real asset to your group. You can also debuff enemies with Curses and deal some damage yourself, but if you want a full damage build then we recommend checking some of our other builds, as this one is primarily focused on healing and support.

If you were looking for a PvE Wand & Dagger build instead, we have a guide for that too.

Wand, Tome & Dagger PvP Build Basics

Weapons Overview

Mainhand: Wand & Tome – Primarily a support weapon, the Wand and Tome allows you to heal and buff allies, while debuffing enemies with Curses. You can detonate your Curses to deal burst damage, but the weapon is otherwise fairly light on offensive options.

Offhand: Daggers – The Daggers can deal decent damage in their own right, but what makes them so useful is their ability to grant you extra Critical Chance and Damage from the Inject Venom skill, along with several of its Passive Skills. We will look into this in more detail later in the guide, explaining why this synergy works so well.

Stat Allocation

An important aspect of any build in Throne & Liberty is allocating points between the four stats. For this build, Dexterity and Wisdom are the most important stats. Your Dexterity will improve your Critical Chance, synergizing perfectly with the Daggers. Wisdom improves your Mana Regen and Cooldown Speed, helping you to cast spells more often.

We recommend a stat distribution similar to the following (but it’s okay if yours is a little different):

  • 10 Strength
  • 29 Dexterity
  • 30 Wisdom
  • 20 Perception

Wand, Tome & Dagger PvP Build Details

In this section we will explain the details of the Wand & Tome and Dagger PvP Build, including the best skills and equipment, and how to proceed with your Weapon Mastery tree.

Defence Skill

You can slot one defensive skill in Throne & Liberty. Every weapon in the game has one Defence Skill associated with it, so you can choose between the following two options for this PvP build:

While you can use either one of these defence skills, we recommend going with Chaotic Shield. Using Chaotic Shield allows you to defend against an incoming attack. Successfully defending against a Fury Attack reduces the cooldown of your Curse skills and restores a small amount of Stamina for all nearby allies.

Active Skills

The most noticeable part of your build, Active Skills are all other skills that are activated by pressing a button on your keyboard. You can choose any skills from your two equipped weapons, and you may equip 12 of them at any given time.

For this Wand & Dagger PvP Build, we recommend making use of the following skills:

Wand & Tome Skills

  • Touch of Despair – Apply Weaken: Curse to the target, dealing damage over time. Stacks up to 3 times.
  • Curse Explosion – Deals damage, with bonus damage added based on how many stacks of Curse, Burning and Poison the target has. Removes all stacks of Curse, Burning and Poison from the target in the process.
  • Swift Healing – A strong healing skill that can be used on yourself or an ally. Can be used up to two more times on the same cooldown, but the cost will increase each time.
  • Corrupted Magic Circle – Create an AOE that applies Curse to all enemies within.
  • Cursed Nightmare – Strong chance to debuff the target’s Attack and Movement Speed, then apply Curse: Sleep afterwards. Hitting a Sleeping target is a guaranteed Critical Hit, but will wake the target.
  • Clay’s Salvation – Restore HP to all party members within range.
  • Karmic Haze – Weaken the target. Strong chance to spread the Curse to up to 3 other targets within 5 metres.

Dagger Skills

  • Inject Venom – Infuses your attacks with Poison. Poisoned enemies take damage over time, and cannot regenerate HP. Poison can be stacked up to 20 times.
  • Shadow Strike – Teleport behind the target and hit them with a melee strike. Strong chance to Bind and Poison them.
  • Predatory Strike – Melee strike that deals decent damage and has a short cooldown. Deals more damage when used against a target that you Poisoned or Cursed.
  • Brutal Incision – Deals heavy damage. The Critical Strike Chance and Critical Damage of the skill is significantly increased when used against a target who is below 50% HP.
  • Camouflage Cloak – Become Hidden temporarily, preventing you from being directly targeted. Your first attack while Hidden will be a guaranteed Critical Hit, but will end your Hidden status.

Passive Skills

Passive Skills are not manually activated, but instead provide a passive bonus that is either active constantly, or triggers under certain conditions. These can be used to create further synergy between your weapons and Active Skills, since passives from both of your equipped weapons will remain active at all times, regardless of which weapon your character is currently holding. You can equip eight passive skills at a time. We recommend going with the following options:

Wand & Tome Passives

  • Devotion and Emptiness – Reduces your Skill Cooldowns. During the day, your Skill Heal is improved. At night, your Skill Damage over Time is improved instead.
  • Vampiric Contract – A portion of your damage dealt to a target you Cursed is restored to an ally as HP. If there is no valid ally in range, your HP is restored instead.
  • Wraith’s Beckon – Your Curses last longer and are more likely to apply.
  • Noble Revival – Your Skill Heal is increased by 3% for every 1,000 Maximum Mana you have.

Dagger Passives

  • Assassin’s Step – Defeating a target increases your Attack Speed, Mana Regen and Movement Speed.
  • Assassin’s Instincts – A flat increase to your Critical Chance.
  • Vicious Fangs – Your Critical Chance is increased when attacking a target you Poisoned.
  • Wrathful Edge – Significantly increases your Critical Damage.

Equipment

Equipment is a vital part of any build in Throne & Liberty. In this section we will list the ideal equipment for the build, along with the optimal traits. Don’t worry if you can’t get all of the optimal traits – this is a very time-consuming process that can take weeks or even months to completely accomplish. Just make do with what you have for now, and if you like the build then you can gradually start working towards perfecting the traits.

You can click on the items in the tables below to find out more about them, including where you can obtain each piece of equipment.

Weapons

Our main-hand weapon is Lequirus’ Grip, a Wand & Tome that automatically puts you in Stealth when your health drops below 20%.

Lequirus’ Thorny Edge gives you some more bonus damage after you use a Mobility Skill – this helps you to keep the pressure on an enemy who is trying to kite or flee. Use Shadow Strike or Precision Dash and you’ll not only catch up to your opponent, but also gain a temporary damage boost for doing so.

Neither of these weapons are essential for the build and you can swap them out if you have another option that you prefer – as long as your weapon as good stats and decent Traits.

Item Slot Item Name Optimal Traits
Mainhand: Wand & Tome Lequirus’ Grip Magic Hit, Magic Critical Hit, Magic Heavy Attack Chance
Offhand: Daggers Lequirus’ Thorny Edge Melee Hit, Melee Critical Hit, Melee Heavy Attack Chance

Weapon Mastery

Each weapon in Throne & Liberty has a Weapon Mastery tree associated with it. You will slowly gain progress in mastering each weapon simply by using the weapon. This allows you to further hone your character’s skills even after reaching Level 50, and representing a type of end-game progression in Throne & Liberty.

Don’t worry if you haven’t progressed enough to unlock everything recommended on the Weapon Mastery tree – the build will still work fine without it. This just makes your character a little bit more powerful.

We recommend the following paths for Weapon Mastery:

  • Wand & Tome: Recovery – Buffs your healing output and Defence, Evasion and Mana Regen. All in all the most useful option in Wand & Tome for a support-focused build.
  • Dagger: Disguise or Assassination – Either of these options is valid, depending on your preference, skill level and playstyle. Disguise is a more defensive way of playing the build, while Assassination gives you more damage and Critical Chance.

Wand, Tome & Dagger PvP Build Info and Tips

In the final section of the guide, we will give more specific information about how to create and play the build.

Try your best to manage your Cooldowns when playing this PvP support build. You have a lot of heals, buffs and debuffs at your disposal, but you should aim to be calculated and use them in good situations. This is something that can be planned to some extent, but experience is very important too – you will get better at this over time.

Remember to apply Curse and Poison to your target when possible to debuff them and increase your own damage potential against them.

We have gone with quite a tanky setup overall, however you should still be wary of enemies, especially strong melee-focused players armed with weapons like the Greatsword. Don’t let your opponent have everything their own way – if they are trying to close to melee range to hit you with their strongest attacks, try to slow them down with your debuffs and kite away.

This build is very much intended for group play – you might have a frustrating time if you try to play solo, as we’ve put a lot of emphasis on support and healing which inevitably cuts back on the damage options that the build has at its disposal.
