Welcome to the Longbow and Dagger PvP Build Stealth Archer for Throne & Liberty.

The Longbow and Dagger is a formidable weapon combination, allowing you to deal fast-paced attacks at both short and long distances, boasting high critical chance and critical damage thanks to the synergy between the Poison effect and Passive Skills of the Dagger weapon. In this build we will make use of these features to craft a powerful PvP build that will be perfect for Conflict Events in Throne & Liberty.

If you were looking for a PvE Longbow & Dagger build instead, we have a guide for that too.

Longbow Dagger PvP Build Basics

Weapons Overview

Mainhand: Longbow – The Longbow is a strong single-target weapon in Throne & Liberty, and it deals more damage based on your distance from the target. This makes it perfect for sniping enemies from range.

Offhand: Daggers – The Daggers can deal decent damage in their own right, but what makes them so useful is their ability to grant you extra Critical Chance and Damage from the Inject Venom skill, along with several of its Passive Skills. We will look into this in more detail later in the guide, explaining why this synergy works so well.

Stat Allocation

An important aspect of any build in Throne & Liberty is allocating points between the four stats. For this build, we recommend prioritizing Dexterity as this will improve your ability to deal damage with Critical Hits, making Dexterity an ideal fit for the build. Wisdom is also useful, as it reduces your skill Cooldowns and increases Mana Regen. Finally, some points in Perception will serve you well, increasing your chance to Hit enemies.

We recommend a stat distribution similar to the following (but it’s okay if yours is a little different):

  • 10 Strength
  • 30 Dexterity
  • 30 Wisdom
  • 19 Perception

Longbow Dagger PvP Build Details

In this section we will explain the details of the Longbow and Dagger PvP Build, including the best skills and equipment, and how to proceed with your Weapon Mastery tree.

Defence Skill

You can slot one defensive skill in Throne & Liberty. Every weapon in the game has one Defence Skill associated with it, so you can choose between the following two options for this PvP build:

For this build, we are using the Ambush Stance skill from the Daggers weapon. This allows you to become invisible when defending against an enemy Fury Attack. Attacking while invisible will cause you to be visible again, but also guarantee a Critical Hit. This makes Ambush Stance a useful skill for escaping from a bad situation and then counterattacking from more favorable ground.

Active Skills

The most noticeable part of your build, Active Skills are all other skills that are activated by pressing a button on your keyboard. You can choose any skills from your two equipped weapons, and you may equip 12 of them at any given time.

For this Longbow & Dagger PvP Build, we recommend making use of the following skills:

Longbow Skills

  • Zephyr’s Nock – Basic ranged attack that deals decent damage. It has a fairly short cooldown and will deal bonus damage against an enemy who is Bound, Sleeping or Stunned.
  • Ensnaring Arrow – Deals damage, with a high chance to Bind the enemy. Good to use before Zephyr’s Nock to attempt to trigger the latter’s bonus damage for hitting a Bound target.
  • Decisive Sniping – Deals massive damage, and temporarily increases crit chance. If this skill crits, it can be immediately used again (this reactivation is limited to twice per base activation). This skill will be a real menace for your opponents with this build, since we are building around crit chance. You should be able to spam this skill quite a bit in spite of its fairly long cooldown.
  • Strafing – Launch four attacks. If two or more of them Crit, you can use the skill again, for half of the Mana cost. This is basically a weaker version of Decisive Sniping, but it’s still worth using, especially on a high crit build like this one.
  • Purifying Touch – Remove a Crowd Control effect from the selected target, and temporarily improve Attack Speed. Good for countering your opponent’s attempts to slow you down or stun you.
  • Blitz – Reset the Cooldown of the previously used skill. Doesn’t work on skills that can be activated multiple times in a row. This skill needs to be obtained from Resistance Events. If you don’t have it yet, you can replace it with any other skill of your choice for the time being.

Dagger Skills

  • Inject Venom – Infuses all of your attacks with Poison. Poisoned enemies take damage over time and cannot regenerate HP. A target can have up to 20 stacks of Poison.
  • Shadow Strike – Teleport behind a target and deal damage, possibly Poisoning them.
  • Ankle Strike – Deals damage, and has a very high chance to knock the target prone if they are Bound, Sleeping or Stunned.
  • Knife Throwing – Throw five daggers. Each dagger deals damage and heavily debuffs the target’s Movement Speed and Incoming Heal.
  • Brutal Incision – Deals heavy damage. More likely to crit when used against an enemy with less than half health remaining.
  • Camouflage Cloak – Become Hidden, unable to be targeted. Attacking while Hidden will guarantee a Critical Hit, but cause you to be visible again.

Passive Skills

Passive Skills are not manually activated, but instead provide a passive bonus that is either active constantly, or triggers under certain conditions. These can be used to create further synergy between your weapons and Active Skills, since passives from both of your equipped weapons will remain active at all times, regardless of which weapon your character is currently holding. You can equip eight passive skills at a time. We recommend going with the following options:

Longbow Passives

  • Steady Aim – Increases your Critical Chance when attacking Bound targets.
  • Sniper’s Sense – Your Critical Chance and Critical Damage are slightly increased for every 1 metre of distance between you and your target.
  • Roxie’s Arrowhead – Attacking with your Longbow has a 15% chance to fire an additional projectile, dealing extra damage. Shooting in the same direction as the wind slightly increases the chance.
  • Devoted Shield – Chance to create a temporary HP shield when you are Weakened. This passive provides some extra defense – the chance is too low for you to rely on it, but sometimes it can be a life-saver.

Dagger Passives

  • Shadow Walker – You gain some extra Damage Resistance and Evasion after using a Mobility Skill (such as Shadow Strike)
  • Vicious Fangs – You have improved Critical Chance when attacking Poisoned targets.
  • Assassin’s Instincts – A flat, unconditional bonus to all Critical Chance
  • Wrathful Edge – Significantly improves your Critical Damage. Essential for this build, since we are putting a lot of effort into building around Critical Hits, this ensures we fully capitalize on that.

Equipment

Equipment is a vital part of any build in Throne & Liberty. In this section we will list the ideal equipment for the build, along with the optimal traits. Don’t worry if you can’t get all of the optimal traits – this is a very time-consuming process that can take weeks or even months to completely accomplish. Just make do with what you have for now, and if you like the build then you can gradually start working towards perfecting the traits.

You can click on the items in the tables below to learn more about them, including where you can obtain them.

Weapons

Karnix’s Hell Bow is an ideal item for this PvP Archer build. It increases the range of you and nearby party members. This allows for a good synergy with the Sniper’s Sense passive – boosting your maximum range in turn boosts the maximim amount of extra crit you can obtain from the passive.

Lequirus’ Thorny Edge is less important, you can use another dagger if you don’t have it, as long as the stats are decent on your alternative weapon. Lequirus’ Thorny Edge does provide a temporary damage boost when you use a Mobility Skill, which is helpful but not essential.

Item Slot Item Name Optimal Traits
Mainhand: Longbow Karnix’s Hell Bow Ranged Hit, Ranged Critical Hit, Ranged Heavy Attack Chance
Offhand: Daggers Lequirus’ Thorny Edge Melee Hit, Melee Critical Hit, Melee Heavy Attack Chance

Armour and Accessories

We are making use of two different Item Sets for this PvP build:

In this case, we are choosing not to use all four pieces of either set, but instead drawing the 2-item bonus from two different sets. This combination provides a nice balance for the build, buffing both your regular and critical damage.

Other potential options are using 4 pieces of the Death set to gain additional Attack Speed, or using 4 pieces of the Mother Nature set to boost your maximim Range and Weaken Duration. All of these are viable options, but the available Traits may differ a little with some of those items.

Item Slot Item Name Optimal Traits
Head Reaper’s Black Mask Magic Evasion, Ranged Evasion, Cooldown Speed
Cloak Hermit’s Shroud Max Health, Debuff Duration, Skill Damage Resistance
Chest Ghost Wolf Alter Ego Armour Max Health, Melee Evasion, Ranged Evasion
Hands Ghost Wolf Incision Gloves Magic Evasion, Ranged Evasion, Attack Speed
Legs Special Resistance Ancient Dragon Pants Max Health, Magic Evasion, Ranged Evasion
Feet Reaper’s Footsteps Magic Evasion, Ranged Evasion, Movement Speed
Necklace Slaughterer’s Collar Max Health, Skill Damage Boost, Bind Chance
Bracelet Specter’s Frost Bracers Bind Resistance, Weaken Resistance, Skill Damage Resistance
Ring Insightful Ring of Dimension Max Health, Buff Duration, Skill Damage Boost
Ring Lethal Fortune Ring Max Health, Bind Chance, Skill Damage Boost
Belt Duke Magna’s Belt Max Health, Stun Resistance, Skill Damage Resistance

Weapon Mastery

Each weapon in Throne & Liberty has a Weapon Mastery tree associated with it. You will slowly gain progress in mastering each weapon simply by using the weapon. This allows you to further hone your character’s skills even after reaching Level 50, and representing a type of end-game progression in Throne & Liberty.

Don’t worry if you haven’t progressed enough to unlock everything recommended on the Weapon Mastery tree – the build will still work fine without it. This just makes your character a little bit more powerful.

We recommend the following paths for Weapon Mastery:

  • Longbow: The most important path for this build is the Sniping path. We recommend gradually progressing it to the final node (Brutal shooter). You could also unlock the first three nodes in the Check tree in order to get Wedge of Oppression, buffing your Bind Chance.
  • Dagger: Focus on the Assassination tree to improve your Damage, Critical Chance and Critical Damage.

Longbow Dagger PvP Build Info and Tips

In the final section of the guide, we will give more specific information about how to create and play the build.

Combos

This build does not really have combos, however it is very important to be aware of which skills can play into one another. For example, using Inject Venom and Ensnaring Arrow to Poison and Bind your opponent opens the way for much better damage output with your main damaging skills, such as Decisive Sniping.

Watch out for your Cooldowns and try to make use of these synergies as much as possible to get the most out of this build.

Tips & Tricks

As mentioned above, the most important aspect of this build is being aware of the synergies between your Skills and Passives, and keeping on top of your Cooldowns to ensure you always have an opportunity to capitalize on these synergies.

The main weakness of this build is strong melee opponents, who will be able to overpower you easily if you allow them to get into close range. Make use of your Crowd Control and high Movement Speed to kite, frustrate and outrun them. Remember that all of your skills are being buffed by the Sniper’s Sense passive based on your range, so even against other ranged builds you should try to fight at the longest range possible.

You can use Camouflage Cloak and Ambush Stance to disengage from dangerous situations, surprise an enemy with a guaranteed Critical Attack, or to avoid detection entirely.
