Welcome to our Greatsword and Longbow DPS Build for Throne and Liberty. With this Hybrid Melee/Ranged DPS Build, we will be using the combination of the Greatsword and Longbow weapons to achieve powerful damage output in TL, with a focus on Critical damage.
Mainhand: Greatsword
Offhand: Longbow
Note: This build is a work in progress until the launch of the NA/EU servers. The Korean devs are still changing a lot of balancing aspects on the Korean Servers at the moment with every patch.

Greatsword and Longbow Build Setup for Throne and Liberty
In this section, we will explain the important components of the build, such as stats, passives, skills and equipment.
Weapons Main vs Off-hand
- Main-hand: Greatsword
- Off-hand: Longbow
Our main hand weapon is the Greatsword, and our off-hand weapon is the Longbow. These weapons combine to give a great setup for critical damage, as well as excellent combo potential, making this a strong DPS build for both PvE and PvP.
Stats
The most important stats for the Greatsword and Longbow Build are Strength, used to improve your melee damage and resistances, Dexterity, used to improve your damage, Crit chance, Evasion and Movement Speed, along with Perception, which increases your hit chance and ranged damage.
- 30 Strength
- 30 Dexterity
- 10 Wisdom
- 19 Perception
Defense Skill
Each build in Throne and Liberty can slot one defense skill. Because we are using a Greatsword and Longbow we have a choice between two defensive skills:
- Greatsword: Iron Point Parry
- Longbow: Overtaker
For our Greatsword Longbow Build we want to select the Iron Point Parry to increase our damage output. This will also boost our overall DPS because of the Skill Damage Boost that we get when defending against a Fury Attack.

Below are explanations of the skills we are using for the Greatsword and Longbow Build.

Skills and Passives Upgrade Priority
Upgrading Skills and Passives in the right order will make combat a lot easier in Throne and Liberty. However, it also takes quite a long because you need so-called “Growth Stones” to upgrade and the higher quality ones are difficult to get. Therefore it is important to plan which skills you want to upgrade first.

Weapon Mastery for the Greatsword Longbow Build
While you are playing with a weapon type you also gain points in Weapon Mastery for our build. This allows you to get additional perks that increase your character’s power in Throne and Liberty. This automatically progresses slowly while you are playing with the Greatsword.
For our Throne and Liberty Greatsword Dagger Build, we are going to focus on the Face Off section of the Greatsword Weapon Mastery Tree.
- Melee Hit
- Base Damage
- Rough and Wild (Damage Bonus increase)
- Melee Critical Hit
- Mana Cost Efficiency
- Fierce Attack (Attack Speed increase)
- Skill Damage Boost
- Melee Hit
- Fierce Glare (Melee Heavy Attack Chance increase)
For the Longbow, we will be using the Sniping section of the Mastery tree.
Equipment Armour and Jewelry
When you are leveling up this build don’t worry too much about gear. The gear itself only becomes important after level 50. Therefore make sure to simply equip whatever you find and focus on leveling up your skills. Make sure to read our Throne and Liberty Equipment Guide to understand the basics of how gear works. Additionally, we also recommend reading the Throne and Liberty Gear Enchanting Guide to get an understanding of how you can improve your gear and why it is important.
Important: Getting the correct traits for each item piece is very time-consuming, even if you don’t have the perfect traits the build will still perfectly work.
The Magnaduke’s Berserk Blade also has a passive skill called Magna Duke’s Berserk that increases Melee Heavy Attack for a few seconds after stunning or shocking someone with Stunning Blow.
Type | Item | Optimal Traits |
---|---|---|
Main-hand Greatsword | Magnaduke’s Berserk Blade | Melee Heavy Attack Chance, Melee Critical Hit, Melee Hit |
Off-hand Longbow | Karnix’s Hell Bow | Ranged Hit, Ranged Critical Hit, Ranged Heavy Attack Chance |
The Magnaduke’s Berserk Blade and the Karnix’s Hell Bow drop from Paola’s Dimension Chest. You get that chest from the Group Dungeons that can be accessed here on the Throne and Liberty Map.
With our setup we are going to use two different sets. We are using two pieces of the Imperator Set and two pieces of the Death Set. That way we can use the most beneficial stat increases for our melee build.
- Imperator Set
- 2 Items: Melee Heavy Attack Chance +150
- Death Set
- 2 Items: Critical Damage +21%
Type | Item | Optimal Traits |

How to Play the Greatsword and Longbow Build in TL
Now that we have explained how to create the Greatsword & Longbow DPS build, we will cover the best ways to play the build to get the best out of it, including combos and general tips.
Greatsword Longbow Build Combos & Rotation
While you can play the Greatsword Longbow build on a casual level by just using random skills or spamming the same skill over and over again, the more skilled player will make the most of their skills and passives, many of which can be used in a certain order to buff the final damage output of each skill – these are known as combos.
One of the most important features of the Greatsword weapon is the ability to use Stunning Blow, Ascension Slash and Death Blow to deal massive damage to an enemy. You can make use of the following combos, all of which play into this:
- Stunning Blow -> Ascension Slash
- Stunning Blow applies the Stunned effect to the target, which in turn allows you to deal extra damage and knock the target Prone with Ascension Slash.
- Ensnaring Arrow -> Ascension Slash
- This is an alternative version of the first combo that you can use if your Stunning Blow is on cooldown, or if the Stun from Stunning Blow failed to apply. It has the same effect as the first combo.
- Stunning Blow OR Ensnaring Arrow -> Death Blow -> Ascension Slash
- Another variation on the Ascension Slash combo, this time we also work Death Blow into the mix, since it gains a 30% damage bonus against Stunned or Bound targets. This combo makes for a good opener, but might be difficult to pull off in the middle of a fight since it relies on three cooldowns.
If you have the Guillotine Blade skill unlocked (from Resistance Events) then you can finish off these combos with that skill, for even more single-target damage.
Greatsword and Longbow Tips & Tricks
- Don’t focus too much on gear early on. Gear farming only becomes important after you hit max level.
- Get equipment that gives you extra Max Health or Strength stats at the beginning.
- Always keep track of your cooldowns, especially on the high cooldown Skills.
