Esil Radiru Skill Overview – SL Arise Overdrive
Here is an overview of Esil Radiru’s skills in Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE, and how to use them.
Basic Skills
Radiru’s Spear Arts
Esil swings her double-edged spear with precision.
This is Radiru’s basic light attack. You can activate it at any time by left-clicking, and it can be chained together multiple times for different attack animations. It’s a good choice when you want to attack but don’t have a long time window. This skill has a decent Stagger effect on the final hit in the combo.
Stabbing Spikes
Esil leaps quickly into the air and slams her weapon down on the enemy, inflicting Armour Break. Inflicts enemies with Stagger Weakening, and periodically deals Stagger damage.
This is Radiru’s heavy attack. You can activate it at any time by pressing C. You perform a quick leap into the air and then slam down on the target. Heavy Attacks have a short cooldown in Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE, so you can use this every two or three seconds.
Glorious Wounds
Esil leaps toward the target, slashes quickly, and stabs the target with an upward strike.
Press Q to activate Glorious Wounds. This skill deals good single-target damage, but the first couple of swings in the animation are frontal cleave attacks that give you some AoE damage when needed.
Death’s Rush
Esil strikes the enemy while dodging their attacks and moves back. Then, she charges in to pierce the enemy. If she is hit while moving back, she evades and Extreme Evasion becomes available.
Press E to activate Death’s Rush. This skill is a bit finicky to use because it involves a lengthy backwards dash. It counts as a dodge and activated Extreme Evasion if timed properly, but if you mindlessly button mash and spam this skill on cooldown, it might actually be detrimental because it moves you away from the enemy. Try and remember to only activate Death’s Rush when you need to dodge an attack, because it allows you to dodge and attack at the same time.
Special Skills
Contempt for the Weak
Esil marks a target and calls for support from the Demon’s Castle, then leaps into the air and strikes down with full force. When her last attack hits, she executes Normal Monsters and deals additional damage proportional to Elite and Boss Monsters’ Max HP.
This is Radiru’s Support Skill, so it can only be used when she is supporting Sung Jinwoo. It is triggered when Jinwoo uses Chain Smash twice in 5 seconds, or when there are three or more Normal Monsters nearby. All Support Skills in ARISE OVERDRIVE have a 45 second cooldown.
Cascading Glory
QTE Skill. After unleashing numerous weapons, Esil leaps among them to release armour fragments around her and deals powerful Stagger damage.
Your QTE Skill is activated when you switch to Radiru by pressing Left Shift (when prompted). Make sure you are in a suitable position for Cascading Glory to hit an opponent when you press Left Shift. It can be used after the previous Hunter in your party performs Extreme Evasion, Deflect, Ultimate or Overdrive.
Triumphant March
Syncro Chain. Esil slashes at the enemy, leaps upward, then strikes down powerfully.
The Synchro-Chain is activated by pressing T when prompted. All Hunters in your party will activate their Synchro Chain at the same time, which can deal large bursts of damage to enemies.
Foretold Victory
Ultimate Skill. A barrage of arrows from the Demons’ Castle rains down on enemies. The barrage of arrows has a high chance to execute Normal Monsters. The barrage of arrows has a low chance of dealing damage proportional to Elite and Boss Monsters’ Max HP.
A small cutscene activates when you use your Ultimate Skill, so you don’t need to worry about being hit by enemies. It deals a big burst of damage and is typically best used against the strongest enemies. Foretold Victory can instakill Normal Monsters, so it’s great when you are heavily outnumbered.
Unique Skills
Dash Combo Attack
When tapping the Basic Attack Button after performing Dash, the user can use Dash Combo Attack.
Back Dash Combo Attack
When tapping the Basic Attack Button after performing Back Dash, the user can use Back Dash Combo Attack.
Deflect Combo Attack
When tapping the Basic Attack Button after performing Deflect, the user can use Deflect Combo Attack.
How to Play Esil Radiru
Esil Radiru is a very mobile and versatile melee fighter who has decent single-target damage and is excellent at rapidly clearing waves of weaker enemies. She is the only other hunter besides Sung Jinwoo who can use the Annihilate effect to instakill normal monsters.
She is also unique thanks to her Death’s Rush skill, activated by pressing E. This Skill allows you to attack while dodging backwards simultaneously. Just like with regular dodges, timing this properly will apply the Extreme Evasion effect to Esil Radiru.
Using Extreme Evasion or the third attack in Esil’s Basic Attack chain will restore 1 Overdrive Slot. Staggering an enemy will restore 2 Overdrive Slots.
Esil Radiru’s Overdrive costs 2 slots to use, and it is a little complicated because it takes three different forms, depending on when you use it:
- Using Overdrive under normal circumstances releases spears in all directions that have a high chance to execute normal monsters.
- Using Overdrive while using Back Dash Combo Attack or Death’s Rush creates a homing spear that tracks down enemies and deals a large amount of Stagger damage.
- Using Overdrive while using Dash Combo Attack, Heavy Attack or Glorious Wounds unleashes spears in front of Esil, dealing damage. The damage against Staggered enemies is greatly increased.
Esil Radiru Skill Upgrade Priorities – SL Arise Overdrive
As mentioned above, Hunter skills in Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE are split up into Basic Skills, Special Skills and Unique Skills. Of these, only Basic and Special Skills can be upgraded. The upgrades are done in groups – for example, you upgrade all Basic Skills at once, rather than upgrading the skills individually.
It is generally more important to upgrade the Basic Skills rather than the Special Skills, because the Basic Skills are used much more often (this group includes your Basic Attack, Heavy Attack and the skills activated by pressing Q or E). So if you have to make a choice between the two, always go for Basic Skills.
In practice, however, it is usually easier to upgrade them in a balanced manner, upgrading both groups to rank 2, then upgrading them both to rank 3, and so forth. This is because each tier is significantly more expensive than the last, so rushing a full set of Basic Skill upgrades usually isn’t possible unless you’ve played through the whole game without doing any upgrades.
Esil Radiru Best Equipment – SL Arise Overdrive
We will now review the best equipment available for Esil Radiru in Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE, including the best weapons and the best armour & artefacts. To help you progress through the lengthy level up and equipment grind, we have included setups for the early, mid and endgame.
Esil Radiru Best Weapons
The table below shows you the best weapon progression from early, mid and endgame. We have not included every upgrade tier along the journey, just the most important milestones so you can see which path to take and what benefits the most important weapons offer for Esil Radiru.
| Weapon | Description |
|---|---|
Steel Axe (D) |
To get the D-Tier Steel Axe, start with the basic Hatchet, then upgrade it twice to reach D-Tier. You can now use it to craft the D-Tier Steel Axe.
This is a basic early-game weapon for Esil Radiru that gives a small boost to her Attack and Defense. |
Glory in Death (C) |
After crafting the D-Tier Steel Axe, upgrade it three times to reach the second B-Tier version, then use that to craft the C-Tier Glory of Death.
This is the weakest version of Esil Rariru’s exclusive weapon. It gives a big buff to her Attack and increases her Defensive Penetration each time she defeats an enemy (up to 5 times). Defeating an enemy also has a low chance to recover an Overdrive Slot. |
Glory in Death (S) |
Upgrade Glory in Death three times to reach S-Tier.
This version gives a much larger Attack boost, and allows Esil to stack the Defensive Penetration buff up to 20 times. It also now has a much higher chance to recover Overdrive Slots. This is by far the best weapon available for Esil Radiru in Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE. |
Esil Radiru Best Armour & Artefact Sets
Early Game Best Sets
In the early game, there aren’t many strong sets, so we just take whatever items we can get that will boost damage output. The Apprentice Mage set gives us a modest boost to Attack and Critical Damage, which makes for a decent DPS boost.
- Armor Set: Apprentice Mage
- [2 Items] Slightly Increases Attack
- [4 Items] Increases Critical Hit Damage
- Jewelry Set: Any
Mid Game Best Sets
High-Ranking Demon is a well-rounded set that boosts your attack and defense. This should help you out with the rather tricky bosses you’ll encounter around this time. Viridescent gives more damage boosts and slightly reduces your skill cooldowns.
- Armour Set: High-Ranking Demon

- [4 Items] Using a Basic Skill triggers a moderate chance to grant Super Armor, and will increase the user’s Basic Skill damage for a certain amount of time.
- Jewelry Set: Viridescent

- [4 Items] Using the Basic Skill very slightly increases the user’s Basic Skill Damage Increase effect for a certain amount of time, stacking up to 10 times.
Late Game Best Sets
We’re using the Dark Knight set because it boosts all of Radiru’s Basic and Heavy Attacks, which will make up the majority of your attacks in most situations. The Beast set helps your overall DPS by ramping up your Critical Hit chance over the course of the battle.
- Armour Set: Dark Knight
- [2 Items] Increases Attack, Defense and Max HP
- [3 Items] Significantly increases Heavy Attack Damage. When your Heavy Attack hits, there is a very high chance to significantly increase your Basic Skill Damage for a short period of time.

- Jewelry Set: Beast
- [2 Items] Increases Critical Hit Damage
