How to unlock the ESO Subclassing Quest

To start the ESO Subclassing Quest, you must first complete three requirements:

1. Reach level 50 on one character on your account.
2. Accept the “A Study in Discipline” Subclassing Quest
3. Choose a Subclass skill line and finish the quest

Meet the Level Requirement

The fundamental requirement to become eligible for ESO Subclassing is reaching level 50 on at least one character on your account. Once this is achieved, you can start Subclassing on any of your characters, even the ones that are under 50.

Accept the Subclassing “A Study in Discipline” Quest

You can start your journey to ESO Subclassing three different ways:

• Claim the quest from the Quest Starters section of the Crown Store, or
• Speak directly with Bahtra at-Hunding, an adventurer who can be found near the Wayshrines in Riften (The Rift), Evermore (Bangkorai), or Dune (Reaper’s March).
  • Batra at-Hunding in Riften (The Rift) Map Location
  • Batra at-Hunding in Evermore (Bangkorai) Map Location
  • Batra at-Hunding in Dune (Reaper’s March) Map Location
• Grant yourself the quest directly from the Skills menu

Complete the Subclassing “A Study in Discipline” Quest

Finishing “A Study in Discipline” will enable the use of the Subclassing system on that specific character. The quest is very short and does not require you to travel anywhere. Remember to finish the subclassing quest by talking to Bahtra at-Hunding after choosing a free Subclass Skill Line. After completing the quest, you can begin mixing skill lines.
