This quick guide will explain how you can get the Afterglow Sword Sniper Rifle in The First Descendant (TFD). This Sniper Rifle has a low fire-rate, but grants a stacking buff that boosts your damage and reload speed when you hit enemy Weak Points. It also has bonus Critical Rate when hitting an enemy Commander or Colossus. This is an excellent weapon for dealing devastating damage from long-range, and is especially recommended for our Sharen Stealth Build.

How to Get the Afterglow Sword Weapon in the First Descendant
We will now explain the full process of obtaining the Afterglow Sword Ultimate weapon in TFD.
Like all Ultimate Weapons in the First Descendant, Afterglow Sword needs to be researched by visiting Anais in Albion. The research requires four components to be collected first. The first three of these components also need to be researched and are comprised of four components themselves. The fourth and final component just needs to be looted. Please note that you must have Mastery Rank 15 before researching Enduring Legacy. You can get the components before that, but you won’t be able to combine them to create the weapon until you’re at Mastery 15.
We will now explain where to find all of the items required for each component of the Afterglow Sword.
Afterglow Sword Polymer Syncytium Blueprint
The Afterglow Sword Polymer Syncytium Blueprint requires the four items below. When you’ve found them all, you can visit Anais in Albion to research the Component, which will take two hours and cost 50,000 gold.
- 102x Ceramic Composite – Found in Resource and Munition Boxes in White-Night Gulch
- 76x Hellion – Found in Resource and Munition Boxes in Fortress
- 4x Common Carbon Activator – Looted from the Mission Monster in Sepulcher or The Shelter in Vespers (Normal or Hard)
- 1x Afterglow Sword Polymer Syncytium – Obtained from any of the below:

The fourth and final component is the blueprint for the Afterglow Sword weapon. Unlike the items above, it does not need to be researched, you just need to loot it from any of the sources listed below:

- Hard Devourer Intercept Battle (Amorphous Material Pattern 079 Required)
- Hard Swamp Walker Intercept Battle (Amorphous Material Pattern 094 Required)

Once you’ve gathered all four parts and your Mastery Rank is 15 or higher, you can proceed to Anais to research the Afterglow Sword weapon, which costs 100,000 gold and takes 4 hours to research.
