How to farm Crystallization Catalysts in The First Descendant

In this guide, I will explain how to farm Crystallization Catalysts in The First Descendant. There are plenty of locations to farm materials for the item, we will show you the best and fastest locations to get these materials. Crystallization Catalysts are needed to reduce the cost of Modules by half on The First Descendant Builds.

Farming Crystallization Catalysts has changed tremendously since the beginning of the game. It is much easier nowadays. However, you still need to farm the Crystallization Catalysts and the materials for it yourself.

Don’t forget about Energy Capacitors as well, you need them to enhance your character and weapon.

How to farm Crystallization Catalyst Materials in The First Descendant

The table below shows the materials needed to craft one Crystallization Catalyst. You can only research one catalyst at a time. Because you need plenty of them, it is better to optimize farming the same item a lot before you move on to the following material. Unless you have no Crystallization Catalyst in research.

Please make sure to have a good The First Descendant Build that can be used for hard-difficulty farming.

Crystallization Catalyst Materials needed:

Now, I will show you the best locations to farm Crystallization Catalyst materials in The First Descendant.

Murky Energy Residue

Murky Energy Residue is easy and fast to farm. When you are in Albion open the Infiltration Operation Mission Terminal. Go to the Sterile Land zone and click on The Forgottense mission. Normal mode, private session. You want to speedrun through the mission up until the point where the first yellow health bar monster spawns. In the big room where you have to stay in the circle. After you kill the boss, you get Murky Energy Residue. Now restart the operation and rinse and repeat.

• Zone: Sterile Land
• Location: The Forgottense Infiltration
• Difficulty: Normal
• Session: Private
• Drops from: The material only drops from the boss monster [YELLOW HEALTH BAR] 
• Restart: Restart after mid-boss kill (Where you have to occupy circle)
• Amount: 15 materials per kill

Macromolecule Biogel

Macromolecule Biogel is also easy and fast to farm for the Crystallization Catalyst in The First Descendant. Head over to the Echo Swamp zone on hard difficulty, private session. Here you want to farm the Strategic Outpost in the Derelict Covert and Muskeg Swamp area. Only the boss monster drops the material needed. If you want additional rewards from the drop location you have to use Sharen to infiltrate.

• Zone: Echo Swamp
• Location: Strategic Outpost missions
• Difficulty: Hard
• Session: Private
• Drops from: The material only drops from the boss monster [YELLOW HEALTH BAR] 
• Amount: 15 materials per kill
• Tip: Best done with Sharen to Infiltrate Outpost (If you want the extra rewards). (Sharen Build Guide).

Mixed Energy Residue

The next material we need for our The First Descendant Crystallization Catalyst is the Mixed Energy Residue. This has plenty of drop locations to pick from, but you want to select the best location to get it as fast as possible.

The best option only works with the Descendant Enzo. The second best option can be done with any character.

The first option involves opening Vaults in the Agna zone on hard difficulty, and the best (and pretty much the only) way to do this is with Enzo. He has a passive that makes it super easy to open Vaults. Vault keys are scarce, so you don’t want to fail the minigame. Unlocking Enzo in The First Descendant isn’t that difficult. Vaults are spread all over the place on the map.

The second best option you have is doing the Baggage Transport Mission in the Agna Desert zone on hard difficulty. Any monster with an orange health bar in that mission has the chance to drop the item needed, in low quantity only though as you can see in the video below.

• Material: Conductive Metallic Foil
• Location 1 (Enzo): Encrypted Vaults in the Agna Desert zone (Need Enzo)
  • Amount: 5-12 materials per vault
  • They spawn randomly, press tab to get ping sound to see direction where it is located
• Location 2: Baggage Transport Mission, Agna Desert zone, hard difficulty
  • Drops from: Orange health monsters, low drop chance
  • Amount: 1-4 materials per monster that drops any
  • No Drop? My longest non-drop streak was 6 mission repeats
  • Restart: Restart mission once it’s completed

Below you can see one of the monsters dropping one of the materials. Sometimes nothing drops for like 6 missions if you are unlucky. Therefore I recommend farming Enzo asap.

Advanced Neural Circuit

Advanced Neural Circuit is another easy-to-farm material for the Crystallization Catalyst in The First Descendant. Move to the White-night Gulch zone on hard difficulty and farm the Border Line of Truth barrier deactivation mission over and over. The yellow health bar boss monsters drop 5-8 materials per kill.

• Difficulty: Hard
• Session: Public
• Drops from: The material only drops from the boss monster [YELLOW HEALTH BAR] 
• Amount: 3-8 materials per kill

Crystallization Catalyst Blueprint

The Blueprint for the Crystallization Catalyst is the toughest item to farm out of all. You want to farm the Slumber Valley Infiltration mission on normal to speedrun through it and obtain Amorphous Material Pattern: 003. One run should only take you a few minutes if you are able to clear it fast. I recommed farming 10 Ammorphous Material 003. Then visit Gravewalker Colossus on normal mode and open all the 003 Amorphous Materials. The Blueprint has a 15% drop chance.

Gold
