Best Ranger Builds – Baldur’s Gate 3

Welcome to our BG3 Ranger Builds category. Here you can find the best Ranger Builds for Baldur’s Gate 3. We have builds for all Ranger subclasses in the game, as well as a build for Minsc.

Beastmaster Build

You foster an intelligent bond with a powerful beast that can aid you in and out of combat.

The BG3 Beast Master Build can summon a Bear, Boar, Raven, Wolf or Spider companion to help them in combat. As you level up, the companion becomes more powerful, getting increased HP, more Actions, and eventually able to attack twice per turn.

Gloomstalker Build

Emerging like a horrible gift from the envelope of darkness and shadow, you ambush and put down your foes before they can even scream.

The BG3 Gloom Stalker Build is at home in shadows, able to see in the dark at long distances. This subclass gets bonuses that help it to be stealthy and ambush opponents.

You get to make an additional attack on the first turn of combat, getting a head start on enemies. Later on, the Gloom Stalker gets access to the Misty Step spell, allowing them to teleport without breaking stealth, and can make a second attempt at missed weapon attacks, once per turn.

The downside of the Gloom Stalker is its reliance on stealth – in a fair fight they are a little weaker than the other Ranger variants.

Hunter Build

You seek the most dangerous prey in Faerûn, from ancient dragons to massive hordes of undead, and excel at slaying them all.

The BG3 Hunter Build is mainly focused on taking down powerful enemies, but in practice, this subclass is useful in almost all combat situations. Its attacks deal up to 8 bonus damage when attacking an enemy that is already damaged, and can attack two targets that are next to each other.

The Hunter is the best Ranger subclass in terms of raw damage potential.

Swarmkeeper Build

The BG3 Swarmkeeper Build subclass provides your Ranger with three kinds of deadly swarms to assist them in combat.

The Cloud of Jellyfish deals extra lightning damage – potentially shocking your enemy. The Flurry of Moths deals Psychic damage, giving you the potential to Blind your enemy. The Legion of Bees deals piercing damage and forces the enemy to make a strength-saving throw or be knocked back 15ft.

All three swarms can be used to teleport your character a short distance.

Minsc Build

Minsc is the final recruitable character you will encounter in Baldur’s Gate 3. He does not show up until Act III.

Our BG3 Minsc Build will ensure you can get the most out of Minsc and his small companion, Boo.
