Berserker Build – Baldur’s Gate 3

Violence is both a means and an end. You follow a path of untrammelled fury, slick with blood, as you thrill in the chaos of battle, heedless of your own well-being.

The BG3 Berserker Build utilizes the most aggressive Barbarian subclass, which is arguably the most powerful because it can attack more times per turn than the other Barbarians.

When you become a Berserker, your Rage is upgraded to Frenzy, which provides all of the usual benefits plus two special new Bonus Actions:

•  Frenzied Strike – Make an additional weapon attack with your Bonus Action. This is great for maximising your damage output, but each use will apply a stack of Frenzied Strain, reducing your Attack Rolls by -1 per stack.
•  Enraged Throw – Pick up an object or a creature and throw them. Uses a Bonus Action instead of an Action.

At higher levels, your Frenzy grants you immunity to Charm, Frighten and Calm Emotions, and you can use Intimidating Presence to Frighten an enemy.

Path of Giants Build – Baldur’s Gate 3

Opt for the BG3 Path of Giants Build, and your newfound giant strength will make it easier for you to yeet friend and foe alike.

Forget chugging potions to pump those muscles, these Barbarians benefit from the Giant’s Rage passive that grants both strength and size – allowing you to deal additional damage with Throw attacks. Pockets weighing you down? Not for you and your increased carry capacity!

With this build, you can increase your character’s size when you rage, increasing your attack damage. This stacks with other Enlarge effects, which can have hilarious results.

Later on, you can infuse elemental magic into your weapon attacks, allowing the damage output of this class to rival that of the Berserker Barbarian.

Wild Magic Build – Baldur’s Gate 3

The wild influence of magic has transformed you, suffusing you with an arcane power that churns within you, waiting to be released.

With the BG3 Wild Magic Barbarian Build, you will have the Wild Magic Surge effect added to their Rage, which causes a randomly selected magical effect to activate for the duration of your Rage. The next time you Rage, a new effect will be chosen. Some of the effects deal bonus damage to enemies, while others will debuff them, or buff your allies, or increase your mobility. All of the potential effects are positive.

At higher levels, you gain a bit more control over your Wild Magic, and can use it to give an Attack Roll buff to an ally, or Restore Spell Slots. Later on, you have the option to reroll your Wild Magic effect whenever you take damage or fail a Saving Throw.

This subclass isn’t quite as strong as the two mentioned above, but its unpredictability makes it fun to play.

Wildheart Build – Baldur’s Gate 3

The BG3 Wildheart Barbarian Build can speak to animals and choose from one of five animal-inspired Rages:

•  Bear Heart – Resistance to all damage and can self-heal while Raging
•  Eagle Heart – Enemies have Disadvantage on Opportunist attacks, you can Dash as a bonus action, and you can use Diving Strike to jump down and attack an enemy from an elevated position.
•  Elk Heart – You have additional Movement Speed. You can use Primal Stampede, allowing you to charge forth and knock over all enemies in your path.
•  Tiger Heart – You have increased Jump Distance. You can use Tiger’s Bloodlust to attack multiple nearby enemies at once.
•  Wolf Heart – Your allies have Advantage on melee Attack Rolls against foes within 2 metres of you. You can use Inciting Howl to increase your allies’ Movement Speed.

At higher levels, Wildheart Barbarians can choose up to two Animal Aspects, getting permanent buffs to their character, and become more resistant to Difficult Terrain and other natural hazards.

Karlach Build – Baldur’s Gate 3
