Welcome to our Staff & Dagger DPS Build for Throne and Liberty. With this DPS PVE Build, we will be using the combination of the Staff and Dagger weapons to achieve a powerful damage output in combat, with a focus on high levels of critical damage.
Mainhand: Staff
Offhand: Dagger
Note: This build is a work in progress until the launch of the NA/EU servers. The Korean devs are still changing a lot of balancing aspects on the Korean Servers at the moment with every patch.

Staff Dagger Build Setup for Throne and Liberty
In this section, we will explain the important components of the build, such as stats, passives, skills, and equipment.
Weapons Main vs Off-hand
- Main-hand: Staff
- Off-hand: Daggers
Our main weapon slot is the Staff and our off-hand weapon slot is the Daggers. These two synergize extremely well and complement each other. Passives from your secondary weapon are still active when you are holding your primary weapon, and vice versa. This makes it possible to apply the Dagger’s passives when you are using the Staff for example.
Stats
The following stats are required for the Staff & Daggers build:
- Wisdom – Increases your Max Mana and Mana Regen. When leveling up your build, increase this until you feel like you do not have Mana problems (i.e. running out to often) anymore. Then move onto the next stat.
- Perception – Increases your chance to hit enemies with your attacks. We recommend increasing this to 19, then move onto the next stat.
- Dexterity – Once you have increased your Wisdom and Perception to a satisfactory level, it is time to increase your Dexterity, which will be the focus for all remaining stat points. Dexterity increases your Critical Hit chance, which is greatly important for a crit-focused build like this one.
By endgame, you should aim to have a stat distribution that looks similar to the following:
- 10 Strength
- 30 Dexterity
- 30 Wisdom
- 19 Perception
If you think don’t have enough health on your build, you can place some points in Strength to increase your Health value. This also prevents you from getting one shot by bosses in tougher dungeons in Throne and Liberty.
Defense Skill
Each build in Throne and Liberty can slot one defense skill. Because we are using a Staff and Daggers we have a choice between two defensive skills:
- Staff: Mystic Shield
- Dagger: Ambush Stance
For our Staff & Dagger Build we are going with Ambush Stance from the Dagger skill tree. This allows you to become Hidden when successfully defending against a Fury Attack, gaining extra Mana Regen and a guaranteed Critical Hit on your next attack.

Below are explanations of the skills we are using for the Staff Dagger Build.

All Fire skills‘ Weaken: Burning damage is equal to Serial Flame Bombs’.

- Frost Smokescreen – Creates a 4m radius that lasts for 5s where you are standing and teleport backwards for 8m. Decreases enemies’ Move Speed within the area. Can be used up to 2 times.

Damage decreases every time it transfers, and it will not transfer to a target already affected. Cooldown decreases if you’re Wet.

Skills and Passives Upgrade Priority
Upgrading Skills and Passives in the right order will make combat a lot easier in Throne and Liberty. However, it also takes quite a long because you need so-called “Growth Stones” to upgrade and the higher quality ones are difficult to get. Therefore it is important to plan ahead which skills you want to upgrade first.
Note: You unlock higher level skills already in a higher quality such as Rare or Epic. So you won’t have to upgrade all of the Skills.

Staff & Dagger Build Weapon Mastery
While you are playing with a weapon type you also gain points in Weapon Mastery for our build. This allows you to get additional perks that increase your character’s power in Throne and Liberty. This automatically progresses slowly while you are playing with your weapons equipped.
For our Throne and Liberty Staff Dagger Build we are going to focus on the Destroy section of the Staff Weapon Mastery Tree.
- Base Damage
- Magic Hit
- Fatal Incantation
- Base Damage
- Mana Regen
- Mana Intensification
- Cooldown Speed
- Damage Bonus
- Strange Spacetime
For the Dagger Weapon Mastery tree we are going to use the Assassination section.
Equipment Armour and Jewelry
When you are leveling up this build don’t worry too much about gear. The gear itself only becomes important after level 50. Therefore make sure to simply equip whatever you find and focus on leveling up your skills. Make sure to read our Throne and Liberty Equipment Guide to understand the basics of how gear works. Additionally, we also recommend reading the Throne and Liberty Gear Enchanting Guide to get an understanding of how you can improve your gear and why it is important.
Important: Getting the correct traits for each item piece is very time-consuming, even if you don’t have the perfect traits the build will still perfectly work.
Type | Item | Optimal Traits |
---|---|---|
Main-hand Staff | Toublek’s Thunderous Soul | Magic Hit, Magic Critical Hit, Magic Heavy Attack Chance |
Off-hand Daggers | Lequirus’ Thorny Edge | Melee Hit, Melee Critical Hit, Melee Heavy Attack Chance |
The Toublek’s Thunderous Soul and Lequirus’ Thorny Edge both drop from Paola’s Dimension Chest. You get that chest from the Group Dungeons that can be accessed here on the Throne and Liberty Map.
With our setup we are going to use two different sets. We are using two pieces of the Transcendent One Set and two pieces of the Death Set. That way we can use the most beneficial stat increases for our melee build.
- Transcendent One Set
- 2 Items: Skill Cooldown Speed +7.5%
- Death Set
- 2 Items: Critical Damage +21%
Type | Item | Optimal Traits |

How to Play the Staff Dagger Build in TL
Now that we have explained how to create the Staff Dagger build, we will cover the best ways to play the build to get the best out of it, including combos and general tips.
Staff & Dagger Build Combos & Rotation
While you can play the Staff Dagger build on a casual level by just using random skills or spamming the same skill over and over again, the more skilled player will make the most of their skills and passives, many of which can be used in a certain order to buff the final damage output of each skill – these are known as combos.
Below are the most important combos for this build, along with a summary of how/why they work.
- Inject Venom -> Serial Fire Bombs -> Inferno Wave -> Chain Lightning
- Poisoning the target with Inject Venom gives you bonuses when attacking them thanks to your Dagger passives, such as increased Critical Hit chance. Serial Fire Bombs and Inferno Wave inflict stacks of Burning onto the target, and each stack of Burning converts into a 9% damage bonus on your Chain Lightning.
Archer Tips & Tricks
- Don’t focus too much on gear early on. Gear farming only becomes important after you hit max level.
- Get equipment that gives you extra Max Health or stat buffs at the beginning.
- Always keep track of your cooldowns, especially on the high cooldown Skills.
